When I was a kid, and I had to go down to the basement to fetch something for my mom, I hated opening that door. And once the errand was accomplished, I would run up the steps like the devil himself was after me. There was something about the dark and unknown that my naive little heart wanted nothing to do with. Today, the notion of gatekeepers and hall monitors for the deep state has that same effect on me. I don’t even want to open the door. But in an important conversation today with Alex Newman, we talk about one of the poster boys for basement level boogeymen: Jeffrey Epstein. He didn’t own a country or a title, wasn’t a Caesar, Kaiser or Tzar. And yet his influence is massive and we have to ask why. The answers may shock you. Why is the nation so obsessed with Epstein? We also talk about bad actors in public schooling and in climate agendas. A Deep State dive today on SUFTT.

Mary welcomes Melissa Huray to the podcast to talk about true freedom in Christ. Melissa has dedicated the last 15 years to helping people with addictions find freedom through Jesus Christ. She is an Emmy award winning news reporter and anchor, and an addiction counselor with a Masters in Physiology. She is the Executive Director at the Lindell Recovery Network. Her books include Blackout to Blessing and Radical Freedom. She also hosts the Hope Report podcast. Today we look at her testimony of a dysfunctional family and the emptiness she felt as a youth. The deadly cost of gambling on alcohol’s temporary relief brought multiple arrests, harrowing car crashes, and many attempts to quit. She couldn’t save herself – but ultimately put her trust in the One who could set her free from all the pain. God has used her mightily and we talk about a God Who uses our darkest seasons to bring light to others.

Have we just entered into a season that is one of the most unpredictable since the Shah was overthrown in 1979? Even with the strength that President Reagan showed in releasing the American hostages from Iran’s volatile and brutal grip back then, perhaps President Trump has shown the most courage and resolve we have seen in decades with his Operation Fury to take out the wicked Ayatollah “Haman” Khameini. While some of the leftier among us are crying outrage just because it’s Trump, most citizens of the globe recognize the fact that the world, and the Mideast in particular, need LESS Khameinis, not more – or even one – and clearly Trump agrees. Siding with a tyrannical Islamic regime that kills its own is a form of insanity that no one can defend from a human standpoint. At any rate, God is working, because if it is as late as we think it is, it’s all part of Bible prophecy. Back in the 70s, for less than one dollar, one could purchase a Bic lighter and set stuff on fire easily. In today’s Mideast, with hatred all around stewing and brewing, especially for Israel, it doesn’t take much more than one of those to invoke a regional war. Tim and Mary invite you to be watching and waiting with them on our weekly Headline Days.
Dr. JB Hixson
Mary welcomes back JB Hixson to explore a Bible topic that is both personal and practical: surrendering fully to Jesus. In John 3:29-30, we read, He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. John was said by Jesus to be the greatest among those born of women, but the least in the kingdom. Now that is a conundrum and yet we understand the unique position John was in for all of history, and that he never saw the crucifixion or resurrection. So let’s get practical: what does that mean to decrease and give Jesus preeminence in our lives? What does this look like as the ultimate ministry model? How is the church doing on that front when we consider all the glory some ministries take for themselves? A timely hour with JB.

Today’s new episode of Stand Up For The Truth features Dave Wager teaching solo, walking listeners through what he calls “four old lessons” from the book of Job, anchored by 1 Peter 5:8, the warning to stay alert because the devil prowls like a roaring lion. Dave frames the whole conversation around “principles” versus opinions, perspectives, or methods. Principles do not change, regardless of feelings or culture, and Job’s story is used as a clear example. He starts with Job 1, highlighting Job’s integrity and unusual blessing, then pulls back the curtain to Job 1:6 and the heavenly scene where God points to Job as blameless and upright, showing that what heaven calls “great” is character, not comfort.
From there, Dave lays out the four lessons: (1) there is an active spiritual battle, (2) the fight centers on people, our allegiance and trust in God, (3) the crowd, even close friends, cannot define truth, and (4) believers must keep growing through humility and repentance. Along the way he illustrates spiritual attack with a vivid story about a cat tormenting a chipmunk, and he warns that deception often feels like “light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Job’s response to loss becomes a model for suffering with worship and steady truth (Job 1:21), and God’s questioning in Job 38 becomes a reminder to focus on what we know about God when we cannot explain what we are living through. Dave closes by re-centering “blessing” as being used by God to represent Him, not simply having ease, and points listeners to God’s higher ways (Isaiah 55:8–9) and His proven Word as refuge (Psalm 18:30).
Mary Danielsen
Mary takes on some headlines today with a theme: why is everyone so angry? In particular, what things just set people off in a frenzy of emotional vitriol? Well, the nation of Israel for one, in particular those peculiar people of God, the Jews (we are all peculiar people according to the Bible) – those set apart as His own. People can’t seem to run out of things to be furious about. The nations, they do rage. We look at an article about Tucker – yes, another one on his encroaching insanity – but this one asks the question, what does he want from the Jews, that he is so obsessed? A foundational look. We also look at Gaza and the Peace Board’s plan to renovate it. But not just with brick and mortar – it will be the first controlled technocracy piece of real estate on earth. What does that mean? Then we talk about anger, what the Bible says about it and how to avoid just being part of the mob.
Mary welcomes back seasoned apologist Don Veinot of Midwest Christian Outreach to talk about “sycretism” and why the majority of evangelicals embrace it to some level or another. What is syncretism? Is it those dreadful “Co-Exist” bumper stickers, or something more sinister? Syncretism is the mixing of one faith/belief system with another, it is mixing two things that aren’t supposed to go together. Accepting parts of each, but denying the whole. But the gospel cannot be divided and conquered to make us more comfortable. However, syncretism is the natural, meaning carnal, response to the Gospel. Some reject the Gospel completely. Others want to accept only part of the Gospel, merging specific aspects of it to fit their own ideas. We give quite a few examples, some of which might surprise the listener. Then we look at deconstruction – what it is and isn’t. One would hope that the one that is disappointed with orthodoxy on any level actually looked deeply into what Christianity actually teaches and then made a sober decision. Or is it emotional, a response to either God or man letting them down? A fundamental hour with Don.

Tim and Mary take a look at the news cycle once again, and while it generally resembles all the news cycles, one thing we can count on is that in Jesus, His mercies are new every morning; this can never be true in the world. He is the faithful one, and no matter how tiresome this world becomes, the one thing God says we need is His mercy, not more dark news about man’s inhumanity to man. So we start there, and then try and make sense of this divisive, judgment ready world. Today we look at the continued blame for everything on white men who love Jesus; Mike Huckabee’s attempt to reason with Tucker; and the world marching to the beat of Antichrist, especially in Europe where the spirit of the AC has preceded him. As interesting as it all is, and helpful to watch the times, Lamentations 3:22-26 says it all: “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I hope in Him! The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.” (NKJV)
Mary welcomes author, speaker, consumer and privacy advocate Katherine Albrecht to the podcast. Her eyes on tech back in 2005 have been an invaluable resource for prophecy watchers. Here’s some 20th century trivia for you: Did you know that the Theremin, that odd instrument that eventually produced the eerie high-pitched wails for early sci-fi films and a certain Beach Boys hit, was invented by a Soviet spy to transmit military secrets back home as early as the late ‘20s? Truth is often stranger than fiction and radio frequency tech, the true startup of our surveillance age, contains enough dots to connect to keep us busy for years. Katherine is a true expert in all such things, and her book, “Spychips” served as a warning 20 years ago that not only is Big Brother a stalker but keeps stabbing us all in the back.

Pete Garcia and Mary Danielsen discuss the role of the watchman in the church [Original airdate: 10/20/23]; a lonely role that causes bible prophecy to be marginalized despite every sign in the world that it is on God’s front burner. Our worldview, which includes the imminent return of Christ, must not cave to biblical illiteracy for the sake of comfort or denial or any kind of theology that teaches that Jesus cannot return until the world has cleaned up all the messes it has made. Translation: “never” – because there is no indication that mankind is going to turn the corner on the darkness that has gripped the planet. And regarding Israel, it’s truly a spiritual battle and one that humans are all too willing to take sides on – and be wrong at the top of their lungs. Leftist indoctrination of the West about Israel has come home to roost and it’s a battle already begun by principalities and powers in heavenly places. Join us for a timely conversation with Pete. Also check out Pete’s YouTube Channel !
Mary welcomes back J Warner Wallace, author of the classic apologetics work, “Cold Case Christianity” to talk about how working leads in cold cases can yield so much spiritual wisdom. Can you imagine the learning curve in the life of a detective in a major city? How to be one step ahead of people, how to follow up on leads without compromising anything, and why in the world did so-and-so do that to that person? In our lawless world, we are all faced with sorting out such dilemmas at one time or another. In talking to Jim today, we look at a handful of leads that are used in the process of solving crimes, hot or cold. Who did they know? What were their priorities? Why do they keep running even when we know they are surrounded? How can we successfully ID the dangerous types in a world in which everyone is looking for their own ID, true or fake. Motive? Opportunity? While the world loves a good mystery, it does tell us a lot about who we are as humans, and while it seems we are determined to get to the truth in these cases, are we really the lovers of truth we claim to be? Especially when those truths are inconvenient and challenge our status quo. An enlightening hour with a very wise and discerning man. Book ’em Dano.

Mary welcomes back Pastor Mike Abendroth to talk about forgiveness, such a timely topic in an age where selfishness and brutality seem to rule. What does the Bible teach us about forgiveness? What in the heart of God prepares us sinful humans to be forgiven, AND to forgive? The thing is, times not withstanding, the Word of God has the final say. And it is the characteristic mercy of God that even allows for it. We look at what mercy is, what grace is, what true forgiveness is – and what it isn’t. Yes people are brutal; they often don’t care about truth or mercy in their deepest inward parts. But God. Mike’s passion is preaching the Bible in a verse-by-verse fashion and training other men to do the same. Pastor Mike is also the author of the book entitled Jesus Christ: The Prince of Preachers. Mike has been the Senior Pastor at Bethlehem Bible Church (BBC) in West Boylston, MA since April 1997.

Feeling unsteady, like the earth itself is moving beneath? You are not alone. Despite the fact that the Bible predicts an increase in seismic activity, that’s not today’s topic. We try here on headline day to make a dent in the importance of a few of the biggest topics of the day, the biggest of which, on a global, historical, transformational level, is Ai. I hope we have succeeded in communicating a fraction of what it is, what it is quickly becoming, and why we have to care. The problem with a headline here or there, throwing names and companies out hoping we all remember the players somehow – is that doesn’t really give the big picture of why we should all be a bit gobsmacked by it – and educated. Tech IS undergirding our lives right now, at home and at work. In every corner of the world. Today we look at Matt Shumer’s viral February 9 article entitled, “Something Big is Happening”. And he is not wrong. Remember that big 70’s hit, “I Feel the Earth Move”? That’s also not wrong.
Q90 ladies Katie and Mary take a look at a trending topic: Ultra-processed foods (UPFs). With the rise in both colon cancer and dementia among people far too young to worry about such things, fingers are being pointed at our chemical-riddled foods. Not just fast foods but anything in a package. Processed foods, those can be minimally processed with the addition of just water and salt, for instance. Canned veggies, tuna, that sort of thing. But UPFs, those have become way more prevalent on our shelves and have wreaked havoc on our health around the world. We have stopped reading labels it seems, because UPFs are associated with over 30 different chronic health conditions. What are some of the ingredients in UPFs? Seed oils, chemical names we cannot pronounce, sweeteners, salt, emulsifiers, thickeners, “flavor” and “color” enhancers – all that and more are causing inflammation and obesity in astonishing numbers. As wives and moms, we understand our unique placement in the home to see to it that our pregnancies, our kiddos, ourselves, and our mates are as healthy as possible, an important calling. We look at ways we can all save money at the store, the doc office – and the pharmacy. Get off the food grid.

[Original airdate 2/13/25] In today’s Stand Up for the Truth, Dave Wager and Jeremy Lundgren, president of Nicolet Bible Institute, discuss the impact of higher education on young people’s faith and direction. Lundgren shares his journey from studying construction to earning a Ph.D. in theology, emphasizing that education isn’t just about career paths but personal growth and faith formation. They challenge the fear of “wasting time” in college, encouraging students to focus on learning, responsibility, and trusting God’s guidance. Whether choosing a Christian or secular school, they stress the importance of knowing why you believe what you believe and surrounding yourself with mentors who will strengthen your faith.

Gary Kah
Mary welcomes back Gary Kah for a timely discussion on Iran, Islam, elections, and Jewish emigration to Israel. What is next for Iran, everyone is waiting impatiently. As much as we might have expected Trump to make a decision on that by now, it is so complex that regime change could effectively make things worse for the people there, in that it is a nation of 95 million people who may get something worse. And Israel, not exactly a wild card, might get involved if things drag on. But someday we may wake up to a Persian earthquake, politically. Then we talk about our leftist cities, how Islam is shaping elections and cities, and how urban life is perilous to the Jews these days. We look at Operation Exodus USA and their work in getting the Jews back safely to their homeland. Finally, some free-range chat about Bible prophecy.

Mary welcomes John Haller back to the conversation – and with his extensive understanding of the Middle East we always come away seeing things a bit more clearly. Today is no exception. John has dug deep into the weeds of what is going on over there and “complex” doesn’t begin to cover it at all. October 7, 2023 seems to have ushered in a new world over there (and over here) with a multi-layered event that has resulted in clarity about the players, their demonic hatred for the Jews, and the depths of antisemitism that have laid down a new normal around the world. Continuing down the hole, we have a wounded Iran ready to do whatever they want to bring chaos and violence to a new level. Also rising to the top are new players with hopeful new influence such as Turkey, Qatar, Syria, Oman, the UAE and more. All of a sudden it’s true globalism, and Trump is contributing to it greatly by bringing as many nations as possible to the table. What could possibly go wrong? Things are happening at an astonishing pace, and we are here to see it all unfold. Pray for wisdom, grace, and eyes to see, ears to hear.

Tim and Mary are back to stare boldly into the face of another news cycle that seems to get a bit darker by the day. With the Bible’s exhortation to stay alert and awake in hand, we try and make sense of several topics. Iran is first up. Who will strike first, America or Israel? Of course, Israel has threatened to go after Iran for probably 10 years now, so something WILL get done. And with Iran’s own brand of prophecy, as they await their last days leader, they represent an immovable object. There is no negotiating with them. We also look further at Ai, last week’s news of Moltbook as a bot social media platform was entertaining enough. Today’s headline is something about bots looking for humans to do tasks for them and pay them in crypto. Scam, or testing the waters to see how gullible we are? We may never know. We also look at the dark shadow of transgendering our kids, a shameful chapter in American history brought to you by people who hate America, the family unit, and our kids especially. So much to chat about, a full hour of wondering what in the world is next while keeping our lamps trimmed and shining brightly.
Mary welcomes back Pastor Andy Woods for another engaging conversation about things we need to stay on top of: first up is antisemitism. As shocked as we all were with the university protests back in 2023/24, now that those have faded from the headlines, now what? That is the challenge for us all because antisemitism continues to ramp up and if we go numb to it, we are missing a key element in making sure the perpetrators are held accountable. We also look at Jared Kushner’s Gaza plan, part of the Peace Board. So many moving parts here, but rebuilding Gaza is the number 1 goal and it might not take as long as people might think. Also on the agenda: military buildup near Iran; Noah Harari’s somewhat unhinged comments about religion and sacred texts. You cannot make this stuff up but existential types like him have no problem translating our world into an Ai dystopian-antichrist friendly-transhuman-God hating-nightmare. Lots of insights from the very sharp Andy Woods. Sugarland Bible Church will host their 5th annual Prophecy Conference February 20 and 21st.

On today’s FRESH NEW PODCAST, host Dave Wager opens with 1 Corinthians 12:26, a reminder that the Body of Christ is connected, when one member suffers, we suffer together. His guest is Michael Johnson, president of Slavic Gospel Association, who also brings a strong communications background to the role. Michael began his career in international advertising (1986–1995) as an account manager and supervisor serving major consumer brands, then moved into nonprofit agency leadership at KMA Direct Communications and Douglas Shaw and Associates, serving as Senior Vice President for 11 years before rejoining SGA. In this conversation, that blend shows up clearly, he’s telling the story of gospel work with clarity, history, and real-world outcomes, while emphasizing that the mission stays rooted in faithful local churches.
Michael walks listeners through SGA’s roots and purpose. Founded in 1934 by Peter Deyneka, the organization began by supporting believers behind the Iron Curtain through covert Bible distribution and Christian radio partnerships, strengthening Christians who often had to listen in secret at great personal risk. Today, the focus is still the same at its core, equipping local churches instead of sending western missionaries, with a network that includes thousands of evangelical Baptist congregations across the former Soviet region. Michael notes he is building on the biblical and ministry foundation laid by Peter Deyneka and Bob Provost, with Bob continuing to advise as President Emeritus. As the discussion turns to the war in Ukraine, the theme becomes practical compassion, the church as a visible refuge, including their “Heat and Hope” effort to resource churches with generators and supplies so they can serve as centers of warmth, help, and gospel hope during harsh winters.

where in the Bible does it say that the Christians are supposed to protect Israel?
very insightful
or how would it go over if ctians demanded ppl to wear a shirt/jerzee with a cross on it?!
Just bought this book!
however, I prayed Jesus come into my heart and I was genuinely converted. God knows the intention of the heart so be careful with that.
The cov edicts shutting down churches while allowing Wal-Mart, etc. to stay open IS evil. And we are to resist evil.
In America, "we the people" ARE the government, and we elect representatives.
yet wasn't Trump called a hater when he closed international travel from certain areas due to covid yet traveling state to state is considered humanitarian.?
Very good. Already considering many of these things. Crazy times.
so interesting
thank you Mike for your tears for that woman who aborted her child. this is why I love this show...ur heart without compromise! 👍
the "Senior" Mike I mean.
mike, you are right on Ginsberg and the compassion issue. thank you! Don't change! 👍
"if"?....it (tech) already is. 😢
Just listening to your latest podcast, titled "Dismissing Doctrine, Islam, Witchcraft." It seems that your guest is promoting the idea that if one rejects the Calvinist doctrine of eternal security, they are "disputing" the Word of God. I'm afraid your guest would be uncomfortable with the writer of Hebrews, seeing he wrote a whole epistle to born again Christians with the intention to exhort these believers to continue in the faith and warning of the danger of rejecting their faith in Christ. Btw I really have enjoyed much of the content on your show.
wld they hv any issue about a mosque going up knowing gays are beheaded in muslim dominated countries? of course they would.
love you're spirit and humility Mike. 👍
