Another late release but whadyagonnadoaboutit? We lost the audio on half the ep and then did our best to cobble together some pod joy just the same. Round and Round- a very very funny Hanukkah movie, and Christmas on Cherry Lane are celebrated.
Holy dropped it like three weeks after Christmas, Batman. Hey, it's still Christmastime in Poland. In this Very Special Final Episode of the countdown we celebrate the quirky wonderfulness of actress Katie Findlay, the dope resume of actor Christopher Russell, and the quadruple threat talents of director/actress/model/producer Ali Liebert. I hope you had fun. Keep Hallsharks with you all through the year. End Season 1 Hallsharks, we out.
Well, it took us deep into the Hallmark Countdown to Christmas to get to more people of color- both of today's offerings have black actors in lead roles, and Christmas with a Kiss is our first Hallmark Mahagony film on the countdown. Featuring great performances from Misheal Morgan, Ronnie Rowe Jr., Jamie M Callica, and Lyndie Greenwood- the Hallsharks break down these well casted films on our second to last weekend on the countdown calendar!
And our podcast isn't in any hurry either. Hey, Christmas is around the corner, the Countdown on Hallmark is almost over.. so let's savor these last few movies together. On this special episode we get into My Norwegian Holiday and A Not So Royal Christmas. Our episode title is a homage to the latest Fraiser reboot episode- a great one to check out for Hallmark fans as characters from the show gather around to watch "A Christmas For the Holidays".. and many fun Hallmark-isms are in play. Enjoy!
Time Travel is discussed as the Hallsharks fall in love with the 1940's at the Biltmore Estate. We also enjoy a historic storefront in Our Christmas Mural. The Countdown to Christmas continues!
Well in all that madness of the weekend of Thanksgiving double features... we missed publishing this gem of an ep. Okay, maybe not a gem.. but it'll kill and hour and five minutes. Both of these movies made Karyn cry. Holiday Road starred lots of people, but for us it was the performance of Virgin River's Trevor Lerner- we might start a fan club.
The kid are back with some nutty predictions and a lovely bass clarinet solo. We get into Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up and Christmas in Notting Hill.. but the credits of Sara Ramos distracts us into chatting about the BEAR! Hallsharks also go off the rails to discuss the joys of Ted Lasso, but as the wise Taylor Swift sings it: "This is our house, we make the rules".
Listen to the Hallsharks predict a stinker and then rejoice in one of our favorites of the season thus far. We also go a little deeper into Karyn's disgust of ribbon on trees (R.O.T.) and we discuss how disappointed we are that Luke MacFarlane is not (yet) a superstar leading man. We also lament how hard life is without a Hallmark wine membership.
Ahead of a weekend of double features, the Hallsharks try to play catch up on the countdown with Holiday Hotline and a Merry Scottish Christmas. We give some love to some of the less heralded actors Erik Athavale and Tom Doonan , who may not be household names but are making these holiday movies incredibly enjoyable with their incredible acting chops.
Bryan gets confused about what movie we're on. We talk about lighthouses, listening to our partners better, and of course Hallmark's Navigating Christmas.
This episode we continue to catch up with the countdown with Christmas Island and Heidelberg Holiday. Find out Bryan's crazy fan theory about the Heidelberg shipping problem AND we call out the oversight of Mr. Nat King Cole who should have been referenced in Heidelberg Holiday.
Hallsharks break down this road trippin' adventure on the Countdown to Christmas- Everything Christmas! BONUS- *Karyn takes on her own trip down memory lane- Christmastime at Macy's Department Store in Chicago, NYC (Santaland, Herald Square) and Philadelphia (Dicken's Village,Wanamaker Building). Also find how Karyn managed to make Gene Simmons (of KISS) even madder than he already was on Thanksgiving morning, 2014.
Hallsharks mistake a day off as a day to catch up on those Thursday movies, and now we're behind on the rest! Oh well, they were worth it. The kids join us again for their predictions on My Christmas Guide, and we also break down Ms. Christmas and our favorite of the 3: Mystery on Mistletoe Lane. Brought to you by very crabby patties and extremely loud popcorn crunching in our kids mouths. Enjoy!

One of these films was not only disappointing, but also creepy.
One of these films is joining our yearly watch list, because it was funny, heartfelt, and amazing.
Which is which? Watch and decide! And then listen to us and agree with us- or be really mad at us. It'll be fun.
Hallsharks flip for the latest offering of the countdown to christmas:Flipping for Christmas starring Ashley Newbrough and Marcus Rosner. We share our own flippin tales and celebrate the uniquely cool career of Sugith Varughese (Mayor Kumar in Flipping for Christmas).
Holy Hallmark we've watched 6 new films already this season and it's only November 2nd!
On todays ep we go to fancy France with Moody Mark in search of magical love in an outdoor market.
Join us for a discussion about Joyeux Noel starring Grey's Anatomy's Jaicy Elliot, and 50 Shades Freed's Brant Daugherty

Mystic Christmas is not your average Hallmark movie, so much of the town and local businesses were well represented and not turned into fictional generic places- and we'll get into it with the whole family! Yes, our movie predictions will be made by our kids this week and after the movie you can join us for a family style play-by-play. #countdowntochristmas, #hallmark, #mysticchristmas
Let's talk about how Hallmark holiday movies are plagued by handsome auto mechanics, and why do they have so much free time?! The Hallsharks get into it, with week 2 on the Countdown to xmas Calendar. It's Halloween in two days- but it's Christmas in Charlotte's pajamas.
Hallsharks knock out day 2 and 3 of the countdown to Christmas... Karyn and Bryan will break down both Under the Christmas Sky and Where Are You, Christmas? We celebrate the great Jim O'Heir's performance, enjoy the scenery of some local shooting locations, and scratch our heads during a few awkward moments caught on film. Also: childhood planetarium memories!
