Porn. It's impossible to escape it. It's as ubiquitous as the air we breathe nowadays, and it comes in many forms. Men and women both struggle with it and are forced to deal with the ensuing shame, deserved or otherwise. It's unfortunate that young people are not better equipped to deal with their sex drives. In light of this real need, I decided to share some of my thoughts and offer a clarifying perspective along with some meandering advice and insights on how to navigate this complex topic. I hope you find it helpful. Things aren't as bleak as you might have been taught to think.
I felt compelled to record this episode in the wake of the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk. His widow, Erika Kirk, gave a speech at her late husband's memorial service which sparked some controversy due to the fact that she offered her husband's murderer "forgiveness." Or did she? What does it actually mean to forgive someone? In this episode, I dig into biblical passages throughout the old and new testaments and exegete the texts in order to bring to light the true meaning of forgiveness. This is a topic I have been contemplating for about a decade now, and it hits close to home. I hope it will illuminate your understanding of this grossly misunderstood term. Forgiveness; it's not what you think it is.
One of the biggest questions throughout the history of Christendom has centered on defining the nature of Christ, specifically regarding the incorporation of his alleged deity. Questioning the deity of Jesus Christ might be the most taboo question anyone could pose within Christian circles; at the very least, it is generally frowned upon. It tends to lead toward the accusation of one being a "heretic," and the conclusions people have drawn on this matter have even given rise to the emergence of various cults and denominations.Nevertheless, every person, "Christian" or otherwise, must contend with this question. The biblical answer might involve more nuance than you'd expect. I invite you to listen in as I speak with Greg Steinmetz about his journey of wrestling with this topic and much more.
I'm on a journey to better understand true sexuality as defined by my Creator. In the biblical literature, there is a record of various laws God gave to Moses which governed sexual conduct and sexual relationships in Israel; these laws can be found in Leviticus 18. In an effort to better understand why God gave these laws, I decided to give my buddy Bradley Vazquez a phone call to discuss the topic. The conversation that followed delved into much more than I was expecting. We hope you enjoy listening in to our bro-chat!
Is the modern day version of "circumcision" equivalent to the biblical practice of circumcision given by God to the patriarch Abraham? And why did God choose circumcision as an initiation ritual for His covenant in the first place? Why that of all things?Listen in to the phone call I had with Moose Bergonzi as we circle around this topic.
What are we to make of "The Law of God"? Is the body of commands given to Moses on stone tablets still in effect today? Just what was the point of God giving the Law anyway? How should followers of Jesus the Christ view the Law of Moses? What's the difference between "the letter of the Law" and "the spirit of the Law"? What is meant by the term "Torah"?
These are just some of the questions that my guest Moose Bergonzi and I touch on and wrestle our way through in this first session of dialogue. To begin, we wanted to establish some common ground and see where our perspectives overlap. In our next episode, we will begin delving specifically into where we differ and upon what basis our disagreements lie. We welcome you to join in and listen. Enjoy!

Have you ever wondered whether or not there is anything substantive behind the numerous occult practices and so-called "Satanic" rituals? Is there actually some kind of innate power in them?
Listen as I wrestle through these questions and attempt to navigate them with the principles I've gleaned from the supernatural perspective of the world presented within the biblical literature.
This episode is unpolished. Its subject matter came to my mind while I was driving down the interstate, and I couldn't resist the urge to record my thoughts on the matter. Initially, I had intended to use this recording as a rough draft but ended up deciding to go ahead and publish the raw take. Enjoy!
What should we think about the seemingly superstitious claims that people often make? What is the ultimate claim about the nature of reality that is undergirding these alleged superstitious and/or religious notions, and is it true?
Listen in as I tease these issues apart and strive to come to a simple, rational conclusion on the matter.
Consider this like an audible journal entry. Yes, I’m rambling, but I can’t help it! Sometimes it’s good just to vomit my thoughts out so that they don’t remain trapped in my head. So if you want a sneak-peek into how my mind processes ideas and strings them altogether, then listen in. At the very least, this podcast episode might prove useful as a sleeping aid.
Why does it seem as if—no matter where you look—everything in western culture is fake, a mere facade of what it once was? The various speakers of the "Mere Simulacrity" conference take a decent stab at explaining what is actually going on beneath the surface. Speaker James Lindsay in particular absolutely nails it with his three-lecture explanation of something sinister that has been at work since the early days of the dawn of time.
Listen in as return guest Bradley Vazquez and I commentate on the general content of this conference' lectures.

Listen in to what could have been titled as another "Chats with Bros" episode with my good buddy and former coworker Logan Harmon.
Never underestimate the power of inspiration and the affect it can have upon your life, and never underestimate the ability you possess to inspire others. Life is rich and filled with story. It is because of this that literary genres like poetry, fantasy, and sci-fi—fiction in general—resonate so widely and strongly with many audiences.
It's good to escape the daily grind and decompress from time to time. Perhaps in those rare moments, you might be inspired to see yourself as a fictional character in a novel of your own writing. What kind of a fantastical life would you want to live, and what choices would you have to make to manifest that as a reality? Your answers to those questions might make all the difference.
Sometimes it's good to know that other people are struggling just like you are to navigate through life's problems. If you find anything I share on this podcast episode to be personally relatable and if any of it helps you in any way, then I'm glad it has served a purpose beyond that of me simply airing some of my "dirty laundry" out in cyberspace.
Thanks for listening.
Did you grow up "in the church"? Has anyone ever told you that you should "go to church"? Have you ever been bored out of your mind while "at church"? Have you ever thought that "going to church" was a waste of your time? Have you ever thought to yourself, "Man, the church kinda sucks"? And have you ever stopped to ask why?
If so, then you're in good company. As it turns out, there is a fairly simple reason why the modern "church" sucks as much as it does. Listen in! I've got some insider knowledge to share with you, as well as some "ammunition" to pass on.
The "times" are always changing; that's always been true. But one would be amiss to disregard the enormous impact that the internet has had upon the "90s kids" and the subsequent generations. The internet's ease of accessibility has increased exponentially, giving rise to all kinds of social media platforms that most everyone uses on the daily.
Listen in as guest Kim and I discuss our introduction to this mind-blowing technological wonder along with its pros and cons.
Reflections on topics I discussed with passengers.
This is how two people who actually love reading the Bible talk about it. What can I say? We're Bible Nerds!
My good friend and former coworker Joshua Harris from the LUK5 Amazon warehouse joins me for a nerdy session of conversation in which we delve into the vast 14+ years' worth of films, tv shows, shorts, etc. based on the wildly known and highly beloved Marvel Comics. Consider this podcast episode to be a well deserved tribute to the late Stan Lee.
"Christ will always say something that unsettles us but sits with us and is not easily cast off." - Gabriel Fisher
"Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine; your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you. Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers." - Song of Solomon 1:2-4
"As an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my beloved among the young men. With great delight I sat in his shadow, and his fruit was sweet to my taste." - Song of Solomon 2:3
Join returning guest Stephen Pappas (Papadakis) and I as we wrap up our exploration of various works of fantasy.
Stay tuned for the next episode with Stephen in which we will begin an in-depth discussion on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series! I'm looking forward to finally taking a stab at reading through this well-known and beloved book series.
Thank you for listening!
