It’s May, That Aged Well is celebrating women directors, and Erika and Paul kick things off with a bang as they talk about 1999’s seminal action flick The Matrix, directed by the Wachowskis! Topics include penis pumps, dusters, the 90’s obsession with computer hackers, and, of course, birthing videos…you won’t want to miss this one!You can follow That Aged Well on Twitter (@ThatAgedWellPod), Instagram (@ThatAgedWell), Threads (@ThatAgedWell), and Spoutible (@ThatAgedWell)! SUPPORT US ON PATREON FOR BONUS CONTENT!THAT AGED WELL MERCH!Hosts: Paul Caiola & Erika VillalbaProducer & Editor: Paul Caiola
Foolish April comes to an end with an absolute banger: the Coen Brothers’ 1987 comic masterpiece Raising Arizona! Okay, class, can everyone who has heard of the 1986 classic Solarbabies please raise their hand? No one? What if we told you it stars Jason Patric, Jami Gertz, and Adrian Pasdar? Still no? How about the fact that it has more roller skating than Xanadu? Wow, goose eggs? Well, don’t worry, Erika and Paul are here to take you through one of the more wild 80s movies That Aged Well has ever done! You can follow That Aged Well on Twitter (@ThatAgedWellPod), Instagram (@ThatAgedWell), Threads (@ThatAgedWell), and Spoutible (@ThatAgedWell)! SUPPORT US ON PATREON FOR BONUS CONTENT!THAT AGED WELL MERCH!Hosts: Paul Caiola & Erika VillalbaProducer & Editor: Paul Caiola
Foolish April has given us quite the streak with The Muppet Show and Drop Dead Fred…next up is Mel Brooks’ spoof Robin Hood: Men In Tights! The film is foolish, no doubt, but will it inspire the love from Paul and Erika that those previous projects did? Or was Foolish April flying just a little too close to the sun?You can follow That Aged Well on Twitter (@ThatAgedWellPod), Instagram (@ThatAgedWell), Threads (@ThatAgedWell), and Spoutible (@ThatAgedWell)! SUPPORT US ON PATREON FOR BONUS CONTENT!THAT AGED WELL MERCH!Hosts: Paul Caiola & Erika VillalbaProducer & Editor: Paul Caiola
Foolish April barrels on with our most requested movie (so far), 1991’s Drop Dead Fred! A famous flop, a rumored disaster, an object of derision…but how will Erika and Paul feel about it? Will this be one where they get out their knives and hack it apart? Or a Four Weddings and A Funeral situation where they disagree? Or maybe…just maybe…will they love it? It’s the third week of Murder Mystery March and it’s the third week where…maybe this movie isn’t so much a murder mystery? No matter, Erika and Paul watched 1997’s L.A. Confidential and in between marveling over all the Australian actors in this film, they take some time to get into how well it’s aged! You can follow That Aged Well on Twitter (@ThatAgedWellPod), Instagram (@ThatAgedWell), Threads (@ThatAgedWell), and Spoutible (@ThatAgedWell)! It’s still January, so we’re still doing 2004 movies, and Erika and Paul needed something “action-y.” So where did they turn? They turned, of course, to Tom Cruise. We can’t contain ourselves around James Marsden! Not to mention the rest of this absolute banger cast…how could it have gone so wrong so quickly? Can you believe we’ve NEVER done a Muppet movie on That Aged Well? Given the consistent presence of Miss Piggy, it seems impossible (if you’d like to know the genesis of that, you can go listen to our episode on The Fifth Element), but the time is finally here! Paul and Erika are going through The Muppet Christmas Carol and if you think Miss Piggy is the only special guest in this episode, well…you don’t know this show very well. It cracks me up that they call Tom Arnold's character Albert throughout the whole episode and his character's name is actually Gib...lol. I have no idea where they got Albert from!

I remember getting Concord grape ice cream in Baskin Robbins in the 80's. I loved it! I was obssesed with all things grape and purple back then. 😁
