Welcome to Our Favorite Bible Stories!

Don’t let the children Bibles fool you! Classic Biblical stories like David and Goliath, Daniel in the Lion’s Den, and Jonah are not just for the kiddies! There is a strong and relevant application for all believers (and non-believers! We didn’t forget y’all!). I strongly believe that we can all learn from these narratives.

I love all the fancy sermons and complex theological discussions, but sometimes, it’s nice to go back to the “basics”. So, join me and other young adults as we discuss our favorite classic Bible stories and highlight their importance in our modern world!

Welcome back to OFBS! In this podcast, we are delving in to some parables from the Lord Himself. One thing about my Jesus, He gonna tell a story with a lesson (AMEN)! From gratitude, to persistence to stewardship, these stories cover the difficult topics that the people during the Bible times were wrestling with. And surprise surprise, we still struggle with these things in our modern world. Thankfully, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). A word from the past is still relevant today! So grab your warm drink, cozy up with a blanket, and let's do storytime!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Hello and welcome to OFBS Ep 15! When I tell you this episode was so close to not coming out on time, but we serve a God who keeps His word! And that is exactly what we see in the story of Abraham. Abraham had to be the father of faith cause he was living on a prayer: no land, no home, and no child. All he had was a promise from God . Yet, that was all he needed. While Abraham was by no means perfect (especially concerning his sister-wife), God still chose him and used him. This story is poignant reminder that if God said it, He will complete it, and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Amen to that!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to Our Favorite Bible Stories, a podcast which features realistic conversations about classic Bible Stories. In this video, I am trying something new. I recently completed a podcast about the Book of Esther and I decided to rank the people featured in this story. So, follow along as we laugh, think, and rate these characters!
Hey Y'all! Welcome back to OFBS! Today, we are talking about QUEEN Esther (put some respect on her name). While Esther is one of only two books named after a woman (shoutout Ruth), God's name is no where to be found in this book. But don't get it twisted; His hand is all over this story. Esther reminds us that there are no coincidences with God. He has planned out every path, every trail, and every step (and thats on Ephesians 2:10). May this episode encourage you! Even when it seems like He is not present, He is actually creating a beautiful story.Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS ep 13! I took an unintended 2 month break, but we're back! Thank God! Today's episode is about the original heavyweight champion, Sampson. God set Sampson apart from the womb to pepper His enemies. Unfortunately, Sampson got a little too comfortable with his strength and forgot Who gave it to him. Spoiler alert, his story does not have the happiest of endings. But, we can learn from his life so we do not make the same mistakes. So tune into this episode: How NOT to Do Life 101!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS Ep 12! As this episode comes out in March, which is Women's History Month, we are focusing on our good girl Deb Deb (the only female judge of the Israelites!!!) I know we love a Proverbs 31 woman, but Deborah is an iconic role model. She was strong, wise, creative, and confident. She stood on what she said and made sure the people around her stood on it too! This story is just one of the many narratives that center women. Do not let culture fool you; women are not at the bottom of the spiritual hierarchy. They are beloved just as men are. May this story impact the way you see, respect, and cherish all women!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Hi hi! Welcome back to OFBS ep 11; I am so glad that you decided to tune in! In my opinion, this episode is very timely. There is a lot of fear and uncertainty in our world; this story speaks to those emotions and reminds us that God has us. Even when we do not see it or feel it, He's there (and a big hallelujah for that!) In this episode, we talk miracles (Elisha loved him some raw materials. He just threw stuff at a problem and it got better. It's called talent and divine favor), battle strategy (or the lack thereof, looking at you Aram; get a better counselor), and a God who is on fire (literally. He actually has armies of fire). May this episode be the encouragement you need today! As long as God is God, you will be alright.Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Happy New Year loves!! Welcome back to Our Favorite Bible Stories! As it is a new year, it is only fitting that we discuss the new things God did in the Bible! So today, we are talking about Samuel, or more specifically Hannah, his mother. Hannah was facing opposition from all sides: her husband has another wife, she's barren, and oh yeah, that other wife HATES her! Hannah just can't catch a break so she brings her pain to the Lord, and guess who hears her ("spoiler alert" It's God!) And He does not just hear, but He answers her in a special way (a way that changed all of Israel for the better). So, join me as we discuss waiting, opposition, promises, and faithfulness!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Merry Christmas!!!!!!! Welcome to OFBS ep 9, the Birth of our Lord and Savior.....Jesus the Christ! This is a classic, and many people know the basics, But, in this episode, we dive a little deeper, and truly breakdown the significance of this event. So, if you are making the roasted ham, piling on the sides, driving to the family's house, or are simply chilling, this episode will be a great reminder of the reason for the season (Cue Kirk Franklin)Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
It's Christmas, y'all! Glory to the newborn King!!! This is OFBS Ep 8 and we thank God that this is coming out a few days after it was recorded! Today's epsiode is technically about John the Baptist, but his mama and papa are taking center stage. Zechariah (and technically Elizabeth, but mostly Z) were not ready for his birth (I mean, can you blame them? They were like 80), but when God moves, He moves. This story shows us that no one is immune to doubt and fear, but it also teaches us that God's desires will be done, whether we believe it or not. So, let's NOT be like Zechariah; let's keep our eyes and ears to the sky. When God does a great work, He often drops some hints beforehand. So, as we enter this season, look out for the signs of a miracle!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS Ep 7! Remember when I said I was going to be consistent (*laughs in unbelief*). Anyway, today's episode is centered on Elijah and his showdown with the prophets of Baal. Highkey, you don't want Elijah as an enemy; he has all the smoke and then some (his trash talking skills! 5 stars) Despite the drama, this story displays the power of our God (Amen and Amen). He does not take disrespect lightly and showed up and out. But, God is also deeply in love with our raggedy selves, and this story highlights how far He will go to bring us back to Himself. Yay Jesus! Yay God!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS Ep 6! This one was a WILD ride because I did not know where God was going to take me. I thought this podcast would be about Elijah, our favorite grumpy grandfather, but God took the wheel, did a K-turn in the MIDDLE of the road, and took me down a different path. And, I'm not mad at it! This podcast brought up such an important question: Who do you believe? There is so much stress (and sin) that can come when we try to secure our own future. But, when you rely on God, things that make no sense fall into place. Because that's just who He is (and that's on the Word of the Lord!) So, tune in to hear what can happen when you are not in confident in God (and the positives that come when you are!)Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Hello! It's OFBS ep 5! We thank God that we've made it this far (who would've thought? not me) Anyway, let me warn you...this episode is not for the people that have it all together. If that's you, kindly exit stage left (jk, but also cue Perfect People by the Walls Group). No, this episode is about fear, anxiety, low self-confidence and doubt. But, here's the best thing about God: He doesn't call the qualified; He qualifies the called. And if that theme doesn't encapsulate Gideon, I don't know what does. So, tune into a fabulous episode about a man who thought he was nothing, only to find out that God made him a mighty warrior (and even though he doubted that, surprise surprise, God was right.)Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS Ep 4! Today, we are talking about Ruth and Boaz, the ultimate Christian couple. People everywhere have been praying for their Boaz. But, it's more than the romance and the feels. This story is a narrative about immense loss, loyalty, the weight of character, and God's divine provision. It reminds me of Ephesians 2:10 (For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do). This story is a beautiful reminder of God's redemptive love story!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @OurFavoriteBibleStoriesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to OFBS Ep 3 (which is really just a continuation of the last episode; love a part 2). In this episode, we finish up the story of Joseph. While things weren't looking too great (and people weren't keeping their promise- looking at you, butler!), in a split second, we see how God can change a situation and elevate in a supernatural way (Amen? Amen!) We see how God works all things for our good and His glory, for when He's 4 days late, He's still on time! Welcome to OFBS Ep 2 (which should have come out in December, oops). In this episode, I am joined by a special guest (spoiler alert: my sister) and we tackle the story of Joseph! Joseph was one of God's strongest warriors cause people were LYING on his name but he still stayed faithful (Amen and amen)! But, what does it look like when our world is turned upside down by no fault of our own? And what do we do with our frustration during those trying seasons? While the story of Joseph shows us how to stand with God no matter what, it also highlights the difficulties (and let's be honest, the exasperation, bitterness and pain) that come with being steadfast.Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @our.favorite.bible.storiesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
Welcome to the first episode of Our Favorite Bible Stories Podcast! This is OFBS 101! I start with a quick intro to me and my motivation for doing the podcast (surprise, surprise, it was God). Then, I tackle the story of Noah. It’s more than the 40 days and 40 nights, y'all. This is a story about obedience, waiting on the Lord, and fulfillment of promises! I’ll also ask the tough questions (like which animal gave Noah the most stress on the ark? My vote is for the cheetah). Join me as we go over a classic!Social Media:Instagram: @ourfavoritebiblestoriesFacebook: @our.favorite.bible.storiesEmail: ourfavoritebiblestories@gmail.comMusic:"Rainy Summer" by Infraction and OddVision Media https://bit.ly/45M2eZb Music promoted by Inaudio: http://bit.ly/3qxoX6U
