From the Saint Vitus Shop- SAINT VITUS BAR: THE FIRST TEN YEARS, AN ORAL AND VISUAL HISTORY, written and pieced together by esteemed photographer, director and Saint Vitus colleague Nathaniel Shannon, is a massive 350-page deep dive, collaged archive, exploring the first decade of Saint Vitus Bar.  With over 100 contributors, The First Ten Years presents interviews, stories, photographs, posters, essays and tons of other never before seen documents from the bars history, including a foreword by Walter Schreifels from Quicksand, and featuring tidbits from Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Jeff Walker of Carcass, Saint Vitus (band), The Descendents, Anthrax, Against Me! Eyehategod, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Armed, Chuck Klosterman, and many many many more.  Nathaniel Shannon was catapulted into my orbit via my dear friend Damien Moyal. Since our meeting, he and I have become great friends, and together have much in store for the future. Carl G has been a staple in the Wilkes/Barre - Scranton, PA Hardcore and Electronic music scenes since the early 1990's. His contributions via creating and Djing, founding the legendary Homebase record store and venue, helping to found the Wilkes-Barre Fest (which morphed into the Positive Numbers Fest), throwing raves, and playing synth for An Albatross all culminated in his position working for the biggest names in pop music today. Carl has an intrinsic sense of positivity, curiosity, and spirituality that is totally infectious! Tommy Walter is a certified journeyman in the world of music, having studied it in both a scholarly manner and as a devout fan. He parlayed his experience in classical and jazz into a career that began (professionally) along side E (Mark Oliver Everett), striking a deal with fledgeling heavyweight Dreamworks, and (eventually) receiving Gold and Platinum certifications for the album "Beautiful Freak". After his stint in Eels, Tommy struck out on his own, formed the group Metromax (later Tely) and released an album digitally. This project gave rise to what we now know as Abandoned Pools. In 2001, the breathtakingly orchestrated and emotionally riveting "Humanistic" was released to great fanfare and generated heat from the dynamic 1-2 punch of singles "The Remedy" and "Mercy Kiss". The criminally under-rated "Reverb" EP & "Armed To The Teeth" followed in Summer/Fall of 2005. This led to stints with other projects (Glacier Hiking, Oliver The Penguin, solo work) as well as providing the soundtrack to animated series Clone High. Tommy returned to Abandoned Pools and added to it's discography many times along the way, consistently creating monoliths of powerful dream-pop with electronic ambience and emotional wallop. Tonight we gather to celebrate DEMONS (out TODAY), the new album from Metallic Punk Industrialists NONEXISTER. Tonight we chat with songwriter, lyricists and vocal acrobat (his voice is sheer, unadulterated power) Nik Leuthold. From their Bio: Zürich-based industrial metal band NONEXISTER is set to release their debut album Demons on March 15. The release thrives on the interplay between the energy of electronic music and the catharsis of heavy music. To celebrate, the band has shared a video for the track “A Promise In The Air.” Producer and multi-instrumentalist Marco Neeser says about the new single, "'A Promise In The Air' is the antithesis of a pop song. It is long, it builds up slowly, it leads the listener astray by beginning with a pulsating synth line and seductive, intimate vocals, and then finally dissolving into an epic finale of guitars." The band has also shared videos for the tracks “Your Pain Up My Veins,” “Drowning In The Void,” and “How Do You Dare.” NONEXISTER thrives on the interplay of electronic energy and hard catharsis with a sound akin to an after-hours club at the end of the world. Demons is a journey through the unfathomable depths of human nature — that's what the lyrics are about and that's how it sounds. It is dramatic, possibly disturbing, sometimes ironic, and now and then, quite surprising. The album was recorded at Marco's home studio and New Sound Studio with producer Tommy Vetterli, known as the mastermind of Coroner and member of legendary thrashers Kreator, adding another dimension to the production. Vetterli also composed the backings and adlibs together with vocalist/co-producer Nik Leuthold. The “How Do You Dare” video was directed by Dave Bullivant and shot in Lithuania. The female lead was played by Brit Selina Jones, a rising star in the British theater sky, who won the 2022 Black British Theater Awards in the category "Best Female Actor in a Play," and has also appeared in the Netflix production Kaos, as well as the HBO Max series Raised By Wolves. ‘Demons’ is a journey through the depths of the human soul - dark, disturbing, dynamic, contradictory, and deeply emotional. While it’s full of pummeling grooves that are ready for the mosh pit, there are also eerie, strange moments that gnaw at the listener’s brain. The band swings like a pendulum between moments of industrial ecstasy and mosh-worthy outbursts.

Ed Hamell of Hamell on Trial has been the first name in Punk informed "Anti-Folk" for over 30 years. In the 1990's he signed with Ani DiFranco's Righteous Babe Records, which garnered more fans and accolades, but "Bring The Kids" is a perfect example of why Hamell still stirs the hearts and minds of his staunchly loyal fanbase. It is a statement of dissatisfaction with the political, social, and subconscious. It is an album of love and hate songs, Punk and folk songs, electronic and acoustic songs. It has as much in common with Pete Seeger as it does with Husker Du, the Beastie Boys, and Portishead. It gleans from all it finds sonically interesting and then reinvents it for it's own ends.
