Sophie is the founder of SS4C here in Aotearoa which mobilised 170,000 people across the country to strike for climate justice. She was also one of New Zealand’s youngest elected Councillor and was one of four delegates chosen to represent New Zealand at APEC Voices of the future. She currently serves as the Raumati Ward Councillor on the Kāpiti Coast District Council. Tune in to hear about navigating difficult but necessary conversations, Sophie’s top well-being tips and how we all can be imperfect activists in our own unique ways.

Courtney is a 26 year old incredible wāhine toa who is multi talented across lots areas some of which include being a Oceania renowned chicken judge, represented Aotearoa as a Rural Ambassador, discovered four new viruses, And her involvement with MyFarmBase Africa encompasses remotely teaching six thousand people about sustainable agriculture. Currently, she works as the logistics and programmes manager at Blake NZ which was formally known as the Sir Peter Blake Trust. Most recently, she won the Global Impact award at the New Zealand Impact Award hence the title - an imperfect impacter. We hope you enjoy and thanks for tuning in. My TEDx talk was what instigated the thought tangents that later became the heart behind this podcast and for that I am so grateful. I believe that social change is not made through the attainment of perfection by one, but rather the imperfect change by many.
