Today we are talking about a topic that is everywhere right now—GLP-1 medications for weight loss. You’ve probably heard about them from friends, your doctor, social media, or the news. And for many women, these medications are becoming one possible tool in their health journey. But here’s the key question I wanted to explore today: What happens when you combine GLP-1 medications with the foundational habits that actually support long-term health and fat loss? Because one thing I always teach here in Fat Loss School is that no tool replaces the fundamentals—things like prioritizing protein, eating mostly whole foods, strength training, managing stress, and creating sustainable habits. So instead of just talking about GLP-1s, I thought it would be much more helpful to talk with women who are actually navigating this in real life. Today I’m joined by two of my FASTer Way clients, Liese Tavaglione and Robyn Neft, who are both using GLP-1 medications as one tool in their journey while also following the FASTer Way strategies like a protein-first approach to eating and consistent strength training. Today we’re talking about something that might completely change how you think about fat loss after 50. It’s not another workout. It’s something called NEAT. NEAT stands for Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. It’s the energy you burn doing everything that is NOT: sleeping, eating, or working out.  So NEAT is walking around your house, cleaning, fidgeting, taking the stairs, parking farther away, etc.  All of that counts. And here’s the kicker…For women over 50, NEAT may impact fat loss more than your 45-minute workout. Most women join my FASTer Way class because they want to lose weight for their health. And that is a GREAT reason to join. But somewhere along the journey, something shifts. They realize what they actually want isn’t just weight loss. They want fat loss. And here’s the discovery that shocks almost everyone: Not all exercise targets fat loss. Strength training is THE most effective way to target fat loss. It also preserves muscle so your metabolism doesn’t slow down as you lose fat. Muscle burns more calories — even at rest. So you don’t just get smaller… you get leaner and stronger. And that means you can sustain the loss long term. I wish I could change every woman’s mindset to this: Instead of working so hard to lose weight…Work to gain muscle. You’ll get a better aesthetic result. You’ll keep the fat off longer. You’ll be stronger. And you’ll live independently longer. I don’t know a single woman who wants to become tiny and frail as she ages. We want to be strong, independent, mobile, and maybe a little sassy. So here’s the question leading our lesson today: Are you strong enough?
