Diastasis recti is very common but widely misunderstood, and it’s hard to even know you have it unless an expert confirms it. Because it is impossible to fix with exercise, tummy tuck surgery often includes diastasis repair. In severe cases of diastasis, you might even still look pregnant long after the baby is born. It can also cause back pain or force your center of gravity to be off. Along with fixing diastasis, umbilical hernias, and the terrible “C-section shelf,” we cover all the big questions including:What can and can’t be repaired w/a tummy tuck?Should you wait until you're done having kids to have a mommy makeover? Circumstances that might require someone to have a tummy tuck twice in their lifeWhat happens if you get pregnant again after surgery? How long should you be done breastfeeding before breast surgery? What are my vaginal rejuvenation options? In part two of our Mommy Makeover mini-series, we cover diastasis in detail with photos and videos, so be sure to watch this episode on Spotify or YouTube.LinksRead more about mommy makeover at JEV Plastic SurgeryHosted by Baltimore plastic surgeon Carrie A.
