We're preparing to launch a series of sermons about testimony. We're going to have people from our church share their story. We're challenging every believer to share their before-and-after transformation. Who we were before Jesus and who we are now after experiencing Jesus. We've been changed but it's not through a religion, and it's not because we tried harder to do good things. We've been changed because we have experienced Jesus personally and surrendered our lives to him.
We are teaching on the Holy Spirit in the coming weeks. Today we're talking about a group of believers who were living for God but were unaware of what they were missing out on. Are you living in God's fullness? Do you have everything that God wants for your life? Could you be more effective in your service to God?
Why do I need to go beyond attending church once a week? Why do I need to pursue Godly friendships? Why do I need to be corrected and challenged by other Christians? Ultimately we're asking why do we need community/discipleship. ParkHillsAssembly.com
Part One, Is This It?
Did you know Scripture teaches of two separate future judgments? Most have heard about God’s judgment over sin, but few people know about a second judgment—one reserved specifically for Christians. It’s called The Bema Judgment.Last week, we looked at what the Bible says about the Great White Throne Judgment—the final judgment for unbelievers who refused Jesus. They will face Christ in condemnation and sentencing. But this week, we turn to a judgment many believers rarely hear about. The Bema Judgment, it is the moment Christians will stand before Jesus. It is not a courtroom of punishment but a platform of evaluation. The believer’s judgment is not about heaven or hell. It is the place where rewards are given, motives are revealed, and faithfulness is measured.“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” (2 Cor. 5:10 NKJV)Many Christians assume, “I’m saved—what else is there?” Yet Scripture teaches that a day is coming when Jesus will evaluate your works, your motives, your sacrifices, and what you truly lived for. This is a message that every Christian needs to hear.
The Bible teaches that every person will one day stand before God, but not all in the same judgment. The bible uses two different words for judgment. One applies to believers, the other unbelievers. The Great White Throne judgment is for those who reject God’s plan of salvation, Jesus. The Bema judgment, is where believers are evaluated for how they lived. These aren’t abstract ideas—they’re real moments every human being will face. The question is simple: when that day comes, which judgment will you stand in?
Join us as we read through, study the bible together. Asking questions, making observations, learning to study our bibles. In Mark 2:13 - 28 Jesus calls unlikely people, transforms broken lives, and shows that following Him is about relationship—not religious ritual. In Mark 2:13–28, He eats with sinners, brings new wine that can’t fit into old mindsets, and reveals Himself as the Lord who gives true rest. This message explores how Jesus invites us into grace, renewal, and a fresh way of walking with God.
Control Freaks AnonymousMany of us struggle with trying to control our lives, relationships, and even our spiritual growth, but true peace comes from humbly submitting to God. Pride and the illusion of control lead to stress, anxiety, and frustration, while choosing to yield daily unlocks God’s best. This message explores how letting God take the throne transforms our thoughts, decisions, relationships, and spiritual life.
The Ultimate Survival Guide Pt 3. We have to learn to communicate with God. In Part 3 of our survival guide, we focus on the importance of every believer learning to communicate with God. Just as clear communication is vital in an emergency, we must learn to hear from God before a crisis comes. This means growing in prayer—both speaking and listening—and relying on Scripture to discern between emotions and truth, so that we can be a beacon of light in a darkened world. Knowing the word without personal experience creates Pharisees,Experiencing God without the word produces heresies.Chapter 1….Why we need a survival guideChapter 2….Learning to sense the presence of GodChapter 3….Learn to communicate with GodChapter 4….Learning to practice obedience
We have to learn to sense and respond to God's presence. We often think we don’t need a survival guide, but spiritually we do. Now is the time to prepare, we can't afford to wait for a crisis. In part one we talked about a few reasons that we might need a survival guide. American Christians need to wake up to the growing economic instability, the normalcy of evil (culture is calling evil good, good evil) and the effects of Islam in America through mass migration. Like a frog in slowly boiling water, many Christians don’t realize how bad it's going to get. We've been lulled asleep. In part 2 of this survival guide, we will talk about the need for believers to be able to sense the presence of God and respond. Christianity isn’t just head knowledge—it’s personally experiencing God in a way that changes us from who we used to be. A true disciple follows closely, expecting God to show up, and obeying when He convicts or leads. Like Israel with the cloud and fire, we must learn to sense his presence, follow him and fully rely on His presence.
