This has been the most intelligent conversation about psychedelics I've had. Today on The Pete Isaia Podcast, I’m joined by Allie Ackland, a registered psychologist, clinical hypnotherapist, and published author with a deep interest in the integration phase of psychedelic work.Allie has sat with Amazonian tribes, studied the use of non-ordinary states for healing, and is trained in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. We speak on legalising psychedelics, why good people must sometimes disregard bad laws, and the importance of integration, the often-missing link in modern psychedelic use. Allie’s book, The Psychedelic Integration Journal, offers a structured, accessible approach for those navigating these powerful experiences. This is a conversation for anyone who is interested in exploring psychedelics mindfully, responsibly, and in service of healing.A storm has slightly affected the quality of this audio, but the conversation was too valuable to discard! I hope you gain as much wisdom and knowledge as I did. JOIN THE SHADOW WORK ACADEMY ⚡️Connect with Pete on InstagramConnect with Pete on FacebookBook in for private coaching Connect with Allie at Healing Psychology here

Today on The Pete Isaia Podcast, I welcome my dear friend and SHADOWBOXING™ Graduate, Nicholas X Morley into the studio for an exciting and raw conversation.  In this episode Nick explains why the SHADOWBOXING™ course was “better than 10 Ayahuasca ceremonies”. Nick is a prime example of the potential we all have to improve our lives, if we choose to face our shadow.  But first - Nick recounts his colourful life story, beginning as a hairdresser and then coming onto the high-end fashion scene in the US, he’s started several successful businesses and owned crucial roles in the industry, making quite a name for himself. He offers some insight into a recent documentary in which he co-starred and produced, about medical cannabis. The film follows Nick and his friend as they pioneer a field ahead of the medical industry, breaking the law to serve their community. Nick shares how they provided pain management for cancer patients, people with chronic pain, epilepsy and parkinson's disease before people could get scripts for medical cannabis. Following this conversation we discuss the health benefits of CBD and how it has the potential to significantly improve so many lives. We also dive into psychedelic exploration and integration, and how it can be closely compared to shadow work.  And finally, Nick shares how SHADOWBOXING™ has completely transformed several aspects of his life. In the past Nick was considered a functioning alcoholic, addicted to cigarettes, prone to toxicity in relationships, and even accused of being a narcissist. During the course he was able to gain control of ALL aspects himself, and by learning how to take better care of himself he felt in control of his life for the first time ever.  Upon completion of my course, he has completely given up smoking, significantly decreased his alcohol consumption, transformed his life outlook, and channelled his behaviour so he can truly express himself authentically. Today I welcome the brilliant Psychologist Micha Lerner into the studio to have a comprehensive conversation surrounding psychedelics, psychology, and their place within the human experience.  Micha has previously lectured at Bond University, researched psychedelic therapy and held a position as a psychologist at the world's most prestigious and elite private drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre; The Sanctuary, Byron Bay. Now he spends his time travelling around the world offering psychological series to private clients, working on his PhD in psychedelic research, surfing, and spending time around family.  We begin this conversation by diving into the psychology behind addiction. Micha shares his professional experience working with patients recovering from serious addictions and explains why an individual turns to addiction, overcoming its difficulties, and what he perceives the most effective treatment plan to be.  We dive deep into how MDMA and Psychedelic Assisted Therapy affect the brain of an individual experiencing complex trauma and PTSD. Relating to how our current sense of self is derived from our ego and its anthesis that develops from childhood, and how certain drugs can entirely reframe our perception of our own identity, and our reality.  The conversation leads us to ancient civilizations and tribes that have experimented and integrated animal and plant substances with psychedelic properties, and how humans have even observed animals with the same curiosity to experience unexplored states of consciousness.  We tie the conversation together by reflecting on our place in the modern world and how we must choose to navigate our reality with the tools and knowledge we have on offer.  The themes discussed in this episode offer deep reflection and thinking - enjoy and send this to someone that could resonate with the episode. On today's episode I have an incredibly enticing and diverse conversation surrounding domestic violence and relationship dynamics with Jane Enter, an incredibly knowledgeable and regarded psychologist.  Jane has a Bachelor of Arts in English, Psychology, and Law, and an honors degree in Psychology. She’s a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists and the Australian Association of Buddhist Counselors and Psychotherapists. She sits on two boards; The Buttery in NSW and the Governance Board of an emerging psychedelics rehabilitation treatment. She has also previously sat on the Federal government advisory body for the prevention of youth suicide and the federal government advisory body of drug and alcohol treatment recommendations. She has been the clinical director for three high-end rehabilitation centres, including the world's most prestigious; The Sanctuary in Byron Bay.  We begin this episode by reflecting on when we first met years ago at The Sanctuary, I was working as a nurse and Jane a clinical director. As experts in our respective fields, we discuss therapeutic modalities and the importance of quality relationships between the clinician and the client.  Jane and I highlight where we are going wrong as a society when it comes to minimising cases of domestic violence, offering progressive methods to address the situation. Jane explains why she believes in early education as an approach to prevention, encouraging that we build a strong foundation of conflict resolution and self-regulation skills in our youth. She recalls the main contributors causing people to become violent in their relationships, listing personal factors and addressing ways in which society has been quietly contributing to harmful behaviors.  We consider how gender plays a part in abusive relationships, defining what gender roles are, and explaining what roles we all should be taking on.  I think everyone will gain some insights from this information-packed episode!   START YOUR SHADOW WORK ⚡️ Connect with Pete on Instagram Connect with Pete on Facebook Find Jane at https://www.muditaholistic.com/ Family violence counselling services: 1800737732 Lifeline: 131114
