Matt and Devin sit down to discuss the subtleties of nostalgia tours, transitioning from touring on The Weak’s End to the upcoming The Question run, and a retrospective on what it was like writing Emery’s biggest album.

Tour is an animal that brings you joy and fulfilment but also makes men in their 40s feel like men in their 40s. Whats the longest amount of time you’ve been away from home over the course of a year? Is traveling constantly something that is amazing and healthy or more like A debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden?

You ever heard of a third eye well devin has a stink eye. We get into the weeds about touring and being dads. Getting older is easy, it’s the getting colder that keeps you up at night.

On This show the boys talk about your mom. She’s sooooooooo awesome and we love her to death but also…..she farts a lot. Like uncomfortably a lot. They also gossip a lot about Stephen Christian and Matty Mullins. Not really but man could they.
The boys are back from tour. Devin shows up 3 mins late and gets fired. Toby talks about pre work. Work you have to do before you do the job so that you are set up for a win. Obviously Devin doesn’t have the same work ethic. But seriously Devin amitrite?!?
In the episode Matt joins the Nostalgic Emo Dads to react to their episode and set straight some of the philosophy and decision making that is the Emery way.

Where is Matt's audio? Long gaps of silence and hearing 2/3 of a conversation make this one a little tough to follow.
This shit was jooookes. Joel Green seems like such a genuine chill guy. Prayers for him and all ya’ll. Cheers
3 white dudes talk about racism.
I think I'd make a slight clarification. I think you are describing "common conditions" not "normal conditions". Pathological processes of any sort are not "normal". Pathology is a disease process, meaning it is straying from normal health. However, there are many "common conditions", meaning a lot of the population struggles with certain pathological conditions.
By far one of the best episodes ever!!
I'm a little torn about these guys. I appreciate their willingness to ask questions that many won't. But I think it unfortunately comes from a negative heart. My honest opinion about these guys is that they don't actually care about Christ and their Christianity as much as they do about themselves. I think your first visceral reaction is correct. They're exactly what their title explicitly states. They are bad Christians. They like to cuss and be irreverent. I'm an English teacher and actually teach a lesson on cuss words. Here's the lesson: words have meaning. I think someone can say equally bad things without cussing, but that doesn't excuse having continuously negative attitudes coming out of their mouths. It seems like every week they think of new excuses to "kind of, sort of" be a Christian, but then complain and make their own path, rather than follow God. They are intellectually lazy, shooting from the hip, rather than putting their hearts into finding the truth. They think thei

i think I'm confused with the purpose of this podcast... I'm a slave to Christ and can cuss like a sailor. I don't live a fake life. I really like the aspect of this podcast....I do wish y'all would be more bold for Christ.... So many Christans ( and I use that word loosely) fall victim to the media and the fear it brings.... Joel olsteen, Joyce Meyer, recently Laura daigle, and then the comments on this podcast... asking should you tell the truth? This World isn't our home, so why care that you have to deal with ridicule from the worldly media? Fame on earth isn't important when you compare it to eternal life with Christ... you have a chance to reach the ones the church isn't willing to go after. They have to hear the truth from you guys. if not, you're just another Joel Osteen out there who tells them what they want to hear, not what they need to hear.... that's my pep talk, what you do with it, is up to you.... I'm not gonna critique y'all with everything you say, and I'm stil
The ads completely ruin the podcast. Guys just switch from any topic to spending minutes advertising some crap. And you as a listener are like hey, how did we get from decentralized leadership to fitness apps. Oh it's an ad. Fuck that.
I really like this podcast - lots of "real talk" 👌
The science segment. Now with 50% less science!
yes! love Trip's way of thinking!
Yes! Thank you! I have had at-length arguments about misused scriptures. Context!
but God is the judge. and if we are choosing what comes out of the bible, then anymore then it moreso seems that we are changing it based off what modern day times are. either way, why not follow legit scripture unless you are afraid to be held accountable? and if certain things in the bible are viewed as outdated and/or wrong then who is to say what is each? i lost faith due to my own views and whatnot, but matt is constantly the man when talking about it
Christians are allowed to support Doland Trump's politics while also recognizing that he is not a very good human.
Let him freaking talk!!!!
Most of the points made today seem to be based on feelings instead of any real evidence or research
Yet another AWESOME episode!!!
