In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa will discuss the 'Crime of the Century' -the kidnapping and death of Charles Lindbergh Jr. --AKA Baby Charlie--Listener discretion of kidnapping/death of a child. This is Part 2 and this will have one more part--in Part 2, we pick up on the night of March 1, 1932, we begin with the police showing up at the Lindbergh home, the ransom note and other evidence collected at the scene.By March 6th, 1932, the kidnappers send a 2nd notice advising to keep the press coverage down about the ransom and increasing the ransom from $50,000.00 to $70,000.00.Within days, a Dr. John Condon, offers his own money and his help in being a liason for the Lindbergh's and the kidnappers. On March 12, 1932, Dr. Condon meets with the kidnapper--a man going by the name "John"--this meeting happens in a cemetery and the kidnapper wears a hat, coat, and handkerchief over his face. He speaks with a German accent according to Dr. Condon. In this meeting, they agree that Dr. Condon will hand over the ransom but wants some evidence of the baby first so kidnapper states he will send the baby's white sleeper. The white sleeper is sent to Dr. Condon with another letter. A couple of weeks go by with several back and forth notes but finally a meeting is set up for April 2, 1932, to exchange the actual ransom. This meeting happens-the money is exchanged. The kidnapper gives Dr. Condon written instructions on where Baby Charlie is....however, this is all false. The baby who was supposed to be on a boat was not found. On May 12, 1932, a truck driver pulls off the road to use the bathroom--he is 4 miles from the Lindbergh's home. He finds a badly decomposed body. The police are called, the Lindberghs are called and an autopsy is done. By Friday May 13, 1932, the baby is fully identified as Charles Augustus Lindbergh Jr.. Now the Lindberghs's are fully devastated and the hunt is on for a killer and not just a kidnapper. This episode will track the route taken for authorities to finally make an arrest on September 19, 1934.Listen to hear full details. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa along with the hosts of Cryptids Across the Atlas-Cody and Elaine Johnston discuss the Mothman of Point Pleasant. We will discuss the events of November 15, 1966, in the small town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, when two young couples (Roger and Linda Scarberry and Steve and Mary Mallette) were out late driving around and were petrified by the sight of a large black creature, with glowing red eyes was on the side of the road looking at their vehicle. Linda would describe the creature as a "slender, muscular man" about 7 feet tall with wings. The young couples would be soo terrified they reached speeds they said of 100 miles per hour to escape the creature who flew like a helicopter and raced right with them. They immediately sought the help of the sheriff and then the press caught wind. Many other stories emerged that happened before this evening and after this evening. We will discuss all of the events around November 15, 1966, the history of the area of Point Pleasant. A deadly bridge collapse almost 1 year later that was "linked" to the mothman by frightened community members and then all the possibilities of what the Mothman could have been.Listen to hear full details. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the gruesome and tragic cases of the Green River Killer AKA Gary Ridgway and an in-depth look at the 20 year investigation that finally caught him.In August of 1982, Dave Reichert was called to a double homicide...this call was very chilling because he had just worked a case in the exact location 3 days before. The location was a rural area at the time close to Kent, Washington, along the Green River. Kent was located very close to Seattle in King County. An area, that unfortunately, that had already had the horrors of a seriel killer in 1974--Ted Bundy. On that day in 1982, Dave did not realize it but there would be 3 young women found brutally murdered and dumped by the Green River and so many more bodies would show up over the next few years. In this episode, which is a Part 2 of a 2 Part series we will cover the time frame of 1987 to Current times.I'll be touching on all things investigative to the point where Gary Ridgway is officially arrested November 30, 2001 and at that time for the three deaths of Opal Mills, Marcia Chapman and Cynthia Hinds--the count would eventually lead to a conviction in 2003 of 48 women and then rise to 49. The actual count of victims per Gary would be upwards of 80-100.Listen to hear full details. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the 1974 Christmas horror movie "Black Christmas".To end the year off, I wanted to review and watch a Christmas horror film--one that I had never seen. So first, I found a list of the top 25 BEST Christmas movies ever. On the list was like "Gremlins" (IMO NOT a horror film) and also "The Nightmare Before Christmas" --equally not a horror film to me. However, there were 3 movies that stood out. They were 1970's/80's which for me, are the best horror movie era. So, I chose 3 that I could see. "Black Christmas", "Christmas Evil-1980", and "Silent Night, Bloody Night" -1972--I had the listeners vote for which movie they wanted me to review and "Black Christmas" was pretty unanimous. So, in this episode, I go through the details of the movie, I go through the entire film, so yes. spoil alert but it's a 1//2 century old so doesn't count. I give my feelings and notes on the film from when I watched it with Daryl and also his thoughts.I end the episode with a my unexplained rating--so listen for that. Thank you all so much for being on this journey with me and I have a lot planned for 2026!! Stay tuned!!Listen to hear full details. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses "The Licked Hand" folklore story.I was thinking about this awful story I heard at a slumber party one time when I was a kid--and it was about a girl who had friends over for a slumber party and there was a killer on the loose. So this girl and her friends went to bed and they were in their sleeping bags and the girl had a dog sleeping with her. During the night, the girl would reach down to get a reassuring lick from her dog and all night long her dog would reassure her. When the girl woke up in the morning, her friends had all been killed and so had the dog. Written in blood on the wall or mirror --didnt't remember was something like "Killer lick also".So, I'm thinking of this awful story and also how much fun slumber parties are and I'm thinking I'll cover this for the podcast but where did I hear this story?? And have others heard this story??I proceed to ask all the ladies in my family, all of my lady friends, all my friends on Facebook and only 1 actual person has heard this story...I do proceed to google and find I'm NOT crazy, nor did I make this up...so here is the episode about variants, possible times when this story came up and more scary stories along the same line.Listen to hear full details. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa discusses the most famous, the GOAT cryptid in America--Bigfoot.This episode we begin by discussing the early stories of large, hairy creatures, running around on two-legs with a terrible odor and the how the indigenous tribes spoke about these creatures like any other creature here in the America's. Then in 1812, reports come out when David Thompson (explorer, surveyor, fur trader) publishes his journals that outline his recording of large footprints found in the snow around what would now be Alberta, Canada--these tracks were said to be 14 inches long and 8 inches wide.We will discuss further reports in 1800's of the "Arkansas Wildmen"--which is reported in newspapes out of Memphis, Tennessee.By 1870, there is an intial report of a "Wildman" sighting that looked like gorilla's in the Diablo Mountains near San Francisco, California. We go on and discuss the events in July 1924 in Washington State, then then the prints found in California by Jerry Crew which made the reference to these "wild men" as "Bigfoot" and solidified the name in the public mind.Of course, we must dive into the very famous and compelling evidence of the Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin film in 1967, which reflected a large hairy, bipedal, female Bigfoot who would be named "Patty" in honor of Patterson. We continue on to the famous Fouke Monster in Fouke, Arkansas, the happenings of Bobby and Elizabeth Ford in May of 1971 and the encounter of the Woods/Sedgass that happened after the Ford's encounter that made National headlines and a forthcoming movie in 1972 called "The Legend of Boggy Creek"--1 of the highest grossing independent movies ever made.Listen to hear full details.References for this Episode:https://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-adventure/exploration-survival/10-convincing-bigfoot-sightings/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q60mSMmhTZUhttps://www.woodape.org/Souther Shield (Helena, Arkansas) Sat. In this episode of Unexplained America, your host Lisa has special guest host Amber on the show for this very creepy special Halloween episode on Bloody Mary the Legend and not the drink. In this episode, we go back to the early 1700-1800's to discuss the different origin stories of Bloody Mary. One particular story discusses how Mary is an old witch woman living in the woods. The townspeople do not like her or trust her. She sells tonics and is known to curse people and animals. At some point, town girls go missing and the towns people suspect Mary. They venture into her woods to confront and different stories or variants say different outcomes happen but mainly that Mary is killed and then curses the people and the town if they dare utter her name three times.Another story is about a Miller's daughter who is enchated by Mary the witch. Ultimately the daughter is saved by the towns folk but the towns folk kill Mary and she again curses them.A different story is about a girl named Mary who falls ill and dies. Her family is grief stricken and refuse to bury her for a week but once they bury her they do bury her with the string to the bell just in case she is still alive. Unfortunately, for the family she does wake up and rings the bell but they do not hear her and the bell breaks and she dies in the ground but not until she is completely bloody by scrathing her nails and beating on the coffin lid. They notice the broken bell and dig her up and find her bloody body. the legend goes they confirm she's dead by sticking a mirror to her nose and when they do they trap her spirit in the mirror forevermore. And future victims that call her name in the mirror will awaken her spirit to come after them.I will also, discuss the ultimate Bloody Mary, Mary I of England or Mary Tudor, first official Queen of England, daughter of King Henry VIII, was monikered Bloody Mary because she had 284-300 Protestants burned at the stake during her 5 year reign. To solidify this episode we conduct our own experiment and record, don't miss out on anything.Listen to hear full details.References for this Episode:https://www.hauntedrooms.co.uk/the-bloody-mary-legendhttps://www.pcsb.org/site/default.aspx?PageType=3&DomainID=5837&ModuleInstanceID=27652&ViewID=6446EE88-D30C-497E-9316-3F8874B3E108&RenderLoc=0&FlexDataID=28107&PageID=14981https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Bloody_Mary_(folklore)https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/myth-bloody-mary-englands-first-queen-180974221/https://www.ebsco.com/research-starters/sports-and-leisure/bloody-mary-folkloreEpisodes DID include other information via:https://www.newspapers.com/https://www.ancestry.com/Big Thanks go out to Gage Fears for his original music made for Unexplained Arkansas the Podcast usage--His contact below--find him on Instagram!!https://www.instagram.com/i_deliver_pizza/To connect w/ Unexplained America:https://unexplainedamerica.com/unexplainedarkansas@gmail.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/unexplainedarkansas/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8rIqbuh-TeAl_9dZNL3fUAhttps://www.instagram.com/unexplained_america/https://www.patreon.com/unexplainedamericaFind us on Tik Tok and Instagram and all Podcasts Platforms.Xoxoxoxo, Lisa

They should change the name to criminals of Arkansas because they don't talk about unexplained anything anymore.👎
the town that dreaded sundown
the digestive hotel burned
Dawn Wells ? Nope . . .
I'm glad they are doing the show but I was really hoping for more ghosts and less unsolved murder cases. Murders are so boring!
Too much chuckling around about nonsense stuff that has nothing to do with the topic. One chick click laughs at everything she says herself. It's 11 minutes in until the topic is mentioned.
