On this 64th and final “weekly” episode of Good Timin’, we share our updated personal rankings of our top 10 favorite Beach Boys studio albums, and explain why we ranked each record where we did. Following this, we briefly review our updated lists of our top 10 favorite songs by the band, and shout out some honorable mentions of other tracks that we love. Lastly, to close out the show, we talk a bit about our future plans for the podcast and reflect back on the past two years of Good Timin’.
On this 63rd episode of Good Timin’, Reilly and Matt share their updated personal rankings of The Beach Boys studio albums from #27 to #11, (minus the Christmas Album and Stars and Stripes) and briefly discuss their thoughts and opinions on each record. (Note- Tune in to our final “weekly” episode of Good Timin’ next week to hear Jake, Reilly, Matt and Nate’s top 10 favorite Beach Boys studio albums!)
On this 62nd episode of Good Timin’, we build our own fantasy ”Best of the Best” album, where we as a group nominate and vote for 30 of our all-time favorite songs from the Beach Boys’ discography. To give our tracklist more variety and make sure that it represents the band’s entire career, we are only allowed to select 5 songs from each of our 6 designated “eras” to be featured on the album. (1962-1964, 1965-1966, 1967-1969, 1970-1974, 1976-1979, and 1980-Present)  In addition, Beach Boys solo material is eligible for inclusion on our compilation, but only one solo track is allowed per era. Check out Steve’s channel, The Beach Boys Basement!

On this 61st episode of Good Timin’, we cover the Beach Boys’ legendary and influential 1966 album, Pet Sounds. As usual with our album discussion episodes, we first go over some of the history behind the record and talk about how it came together, and then we discuss each of the tracks one by one and share our own thoughts and opinions on them. Lastly, at the end of the episode we briefly cover a couple of extra recordings from around the time and share our final thoughts on Pet Sounds’ influence and impact on popular music.
On this 60th episode of Good Timin’, we cover The Beach Boys’ unfinished and unreleased album from 1967, Smile. As usual with our album discussion episodes, we first discuss some of the history and background behind the record, and then we go track by track through the proposed track-list that was released on the Smile Sessions boxset from 2011. Lastly, at the end of the episode we cover some of the additional tracks that were recorded during the Smile sessions, and share some brief thoughts on Brian Wilson’s finished “solo” version of the record from 2004, Brian Wilson presents Smile.

Along with covering Dennis’s many contributions to the group, we also highlight his solo work and talk about some of the significant moments and events that occurred throughout his life. Lastly, at the end of the show we each select five of our favorite songs that Dennis wrote or sang lead on.
On this 58th episode of Good Timin’, we cover the Beach Boys' tenth studio album (and third of 1965), Beach Boys’ Party! As usual with our album discussion shows, we first go over some of the history behind the record and talk about how it came together, and then we discuss each of the tracks one by one and share our own thoughts and opinions on them. Lastly, to close out the episode we discuss several of the outtakes from the album, as well as the band's 1965 single, The Little Girl I Once Knew.

On this 53rd episode of Good Timin’, we pay tribute to the late great Brian Wilson, and discuss his life and lengthy musical career. Along with covering many of Brian’s contributions to The Beach Boys over the years, we also talk about some of the challenges and struggles that he faced throughout his lifetime, and how despite all of the adversity, he managed to persevere and overcome so many of them. Lastly, to close out the show we each share 10 of our favorite songs that were written or produced by Brian.
On this 52nd episode of Good Timin’, we discuss The Beach Boys’ 26th studio album, Still Cruisin’. As usual with our album discussion episodes, we first cover some of the history behind the record and talk about where the Beach Boys were at at the time, and then we discuss each individual track on the album one by one and share our own thoughts and opinions on them.
