Duncan, Leslie, Blair and Sandy sit down on the eve of the Rovers’ biggest game in 25 years to look back on Thursday night’s 2-1 defeat and look forward to Sunday’s showdown. Dispensing with structure and order, the boys focus in on how they’re feeling ahead of the second leg, and where they’re finding grounds for rampant optimism. Episode 64: Ross County (H) Playoff Final Preview Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast. The stage is set for the final game at Stark's Park in front of a mammoth home crowd. The goal is simple: get Rovers back to the top flight for the first time since 1997. But to do that Ian Murray's men will need to overcome Don Cowie's Staggies. Robbie is joined by Iain, Christina, Scott, Graeme and Callum to firstly take a quick look back at Friday night's antics, before having a quick chat over yesterday's news about a top flight vote on artificial surfaces. Then it's round to the main event as the gang chat through their thoughts on Thursday's showdown. There's a wee peek ahead to Sunday's planned #YellowDingwall before Scott provides us with the best SMOSD yet. We would also want to promote that club are selling Yellow Dingwall t-shirts!
Blair, Leslie, Carol, Robbie and Scott join Duncan for an in-depth, rambling and adoration-filled lookback at an all-time great Friday night at Stark’s Park. Rather than getting bogged down by things like ‘research’ and ‘watching the highlights’, the podcast team wax lyrical about each Rover in turn, as they took another step closer to the Premiership. Duncan, Blair and Scott get the tactics board out and go deep into Partick Thistle 1-2 Raith Rovers, as the Rovers take a solid lead into the second leg of the Premiership playoffs. There’s talk of stunning finishes, tired legs, secret injuries, and whether or not Scott Robinson meant to supply the assist of the season as he went arse over teakettle. After all of that, attention turns to the second leg, and where Ian Murray might make changes to best secure safe passage into the playoff final. Having watched Friday night's gruelling quarter finals, Rovers now know they'll face Partick Thistle in the playoff semi finals. Duncan is joined by Iain, Callum, Scott and Robbie to talk through the Friday night battle between Doolan's men and Rhys McCabe's media darlings and what should be expecting from the Jags. Naturally, the gang then pick through what to expect from a Rovers team who will have been itching to get into Tuesday's nights first leg at Firhill. As is customary, the episode is rounded off with another episode of 'Should McStay or Should Dargo?'. After going through all of the regular league season and only winning one game by more than a solitary goal, Raith Rovers put on a clinic against bottom dwellers Arbroath to go into the playoffs on a high. Doubles for Callum Smith and Lewis Vaughan were supplemented by a Jack Hamilton goal which saw Rovers run riot over the red lichties. Duncan is joined by Robbie, Leslie and (the long awaited return of) Blair to go through a five star performance, after going on a slight detour via Inverness. And as ever, the episode is rounded off with a classic of 'Should McStay or Should Dargo'. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast. League game 36 and familiar foes come to town in the shape of already-doomed Arbroath. Jim McIntyre's men haven't won a game since their standard 'against all odds' effort against Rovers at Gayfield, and having proudly proclaimed that "Hammy won the league at Starks Park" a few years ago, it's fitting that Stark's Park is where they're away back to league one. Robbie is joined for this one by Callum, Carol and Leslie who all take the opportunity to crack open a few drinks to celebrate the first ever 'Oh No No No podcast awards' - some brilliant memories to look back on over what has been a true rollercoaster of a season. And to round things off, Robbie induces a collective migraine with his latest pick in 'Should McStay or Should Dargo?' Can you do better than the rest of the gang? Duncan is joined by Callum and Scott to deep dive the many, many talking points from a riveting and action packed afternoon in the Greenock sunshine. Who could possibly resist an in-depth breakdown of… some saves! A header! A slow linesman!? The boys talk through who was rested and who wasn’t, the contributions of Scott McGill, Callum Smith and Kevin Dabrowski, and then Callum gives an ‘as things stand’ update on possible play-off opponents, before the long overdue return of The Big Question. Welcome back to the Oh No No Podcast. This weekend is the penultimate round of league fixtures and Raith go on their final away day before the playoffs down to the unprepossessing sights of Greenock to face Dougie Imrie's Morton. Host Robbie Weir is joined by regulars Scott Fleming and Christina Beattie, along with special guests Nicola Forrest and Craig Smith who were recently appointed as Supporters Liason Officers. Craig and Nicola talk through their new roles and their Rovers back stories, before the team delve in to looking at Lewis Vaughan and Sam Stanton's Player and Team of the Year Nominations, previewing the trip along the M8, before finally rounding things off with the most intense game of 'Should McStay or Should Dargo?' yet. Duncan, Robbie, Carol and John get together to congratulate Dundee United on their league title through only the lightest gritting of teeth, and then cheer themselves up with a thorough breakdown of Friday night’s win over Inverness Caley Thistle. Following a good chat through the performances of Corr, Dabrowski, Mullin & Co, it’s the return of Should McStay or Should Dargo, as Duncan capitalises on his recent victory to take the role of quizmaster. With the Club Historian in play, the stakes are higher than ever! Duncan is joined by Christina, Scott and Graeme to preview a trip up the A9 to Inverness on Friday night. With the prospect of playoffs on the horizon, there’s talk of changes to the starting line-up, and whether it’s time to start getting minutes into the legs of players whose game time has been limited of late.    After the usual wild stabs at line-ups and scorelines, Graeme gives his thoughts from last week’s AGM(s) and then he and Duncan reflect on Monday’s Club 1883 Q&A. And then it’s the return of Should McStay or Should Dargo, as Graeme takes his seat in the winner’s chair and poses this episode’s teaser. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast - the home of all things Fife's Finest. Kris Doolan's positively fragrant Jags (according to Graeme Meldrum) rolled into town to end a hectic run of three home games for Rovers as the two sides battled out a closely contested 0-0 draw. Robbie is joined by Callum (with a working webcam), Scott and Leslie to discuss a relatively eventful match where both sides had chances to take all three points. The gang look at the switches Ian Murray made to his starting eleven, as well as looking ahead to the remainder of the season! After all the build up, the Diamonds club broke Rovers hearts and have Rovers fans potentially grabbing spades for any title dreams. Rhys McCabe's men have become familiar foes, and it was the same story again when they took the lead courtesy of Adam Frizzell's long range efforts. Ian Murray tried to change the game with a half time triple substitution, before then bringing on Josh Mullin who fired home to give some hope at 2-1. Moments after Aidan Connolly hit the post, Lewis McGregor sealed the points for the visitors to leave them unbeaten against Raith and consolidating their fourth place position. Robbie is joined by Carol, Scott and Callum for this week's group therapy. The gang also look ahead to this weekend's visit of Partick Thistle with their predictions and thoughts on how Rovers will line up. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast! Rovers overcame both the Honest Men and the elements to remain within touching distance of Dundee United at the summit of the Scottish Championship. It wasn't all plain sailing - Dylan Easton put Rovers into the lead through a wonder-strike before Logan Chalmers restored parity. But Jack Hamilton's penalty with 25 minutes to go kept all three points in Kirkcaldy. Robbie is joined by Duncan, Carol and Callum to talk through the game, and also to look ahead to Tuesday's crucial match against Airdrie. Duncan, Robbie, Christina, Scott and Graeme are joined by the new voice (but not face!) of Callum Blyth to look at the first of three massive games in the next week as Ayr United come to town. Scott Brown’s win-loss-win-loss record points to a comfortable win for the Rovers, but things are rarely that easy, and there are varying levels of optimism amongst the panel after last week’s defeat at Tannadice. After a chat through the key talking points, predictions for line-ups and scorelines are made, and then it’s the return of Should McStay or Should Dargo, as reigning champion Robbie takes his seat in the winner’s chair and poses this episode’s teaser. Duncan, Robbie, Leslie and John have the unenviable task of picking through Dundee United 2-0 Raith Rovers. They discuss Ian Murray’s starting eleven, wonder whether a couple of changes might’ve made all the difference, and look at where the key battles in the game were won and lost. After a chat through the key incidents and the roles played by Tony Watt and the referee, attention turns to the run-in, with plenty football still to be played before any medals are handed out. Duncan, Robbie, Blair, Graeme and Scott get together a day earlier than normal to look forward to a huge game at Tannadice as the two title contenders clash for the final time this season. Despite their best judgement, the gang dive back into the ticketing furore, and try to make sense of Luigi “The Operation” Capuano’s explanation for reducing the Rovers’ allocation. There’s also talk of pressure versus expectation, how Dundee United might cope with the novel scenario of not having enough defenders, and Robbie briefly ponders how Meryl Streep would cope with Ian Murray’s midfield selection headache. And for fans of head-scratching and vacant looks, there’s another round of Should McStay or Should Dargo, with Scott in the hot seat and the other four struggling to think of anyone who’s played for the Rovers… ever. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast - home of all things Fife's Finest football club: Raith Rovers. And it wouldn't be a chat about Raith Rovers football club without a discussion about Lewis Vaughan. Arriving as a youth in 2012, Lewis's story is well known around Scottish football and in time honoured tradition he received his testimonial match against his boyhood club Hibs. Robbie Weir is joined by Carol Smith, Scott Fleming and Leslie Mabon to celebrate the forward's time at the club with a quick chat about Wednesday's game, but mostly a discussion about why he's one of our favourite ever Rovers. After a bit of an update on the SLO positions from the club, the gang then turn their attention to Dundee United being what Nigerians might describe as being very 'Dundee United'. And to round things of, there's a new game of 'Should McStay or Should Dargo' to keep you entertained! Duncan is joined by Leslie, Blair and Scott to chat through Saturday’s goalless draw with Queen’s Park. The boys preach perspective after the Rovers failed to fully exploit Dundee United’s loss at East End Park, but did enough to put themselves pack onto level pegging with Jim Goodwin’s mob. After a comprehensive review of the game, attention turns to Lewis Vaughan’s Testimonial against Hibs on Friday night, and some significant work to avoid any kind of jinx. Tickets for the Lewis Vaughan Testimonial match can be purchased at the following link: https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/SelectType?fixtureId=5002 You can also find the Oh No No No podcast on Twitter @ONNNpodcast, Instagram @oh_no_no_no_podcast and you can find mugs, t-shirts and more at ohnononopodcast.etsy.com
Welcome back to the Oh No No No Podcast! For tonight's episode, Duncan is joined by Robbie, Carol and Scott to take a look back at the last week for the Rovers. The gang briefly chat about their derby day experiences, before turning their attention to Rovers well managed 1-0 win away at Firhill against Partick Thistle. It's then a deep dive into what to expect from the southside of Glasgow as Rovers make another trip along the M8 to Hampden where Callum Davidson's resurgent spiders await. There's a competition on the go: if you can get the starting XI for Saturday right, you could win one of our lovely new Sam Stanton t-shirts! To round things off, Robbie is in the hotseat to host the latest in 'Should McStay or Should Dargo?'. As ever, please like, share, subscribe and generally talk about the podcast where you can!
