There’s a spring in the step of the ONNN podcast gang this week with the news that Barry Robson has left Raith Rovers. While it’s never nice to see someone lose their job… everybody’s struggling to find any kind of downside from Robson’s swift exit.Duncan is joined once again Blair, Robbie and Greig to give a their thoughts on the overall Robson era, before pondering what Paul Hanlon’s interim spell might bring, and then they look ahead to Airdrie’s visit on Saturday and round off with a customary game of Should McStay or Should Dargo?. A note on the Intro and Outro for this episode. David Latto & The Lang Spoons’ Geordie Munro is an integral part of the podcast, but we’ve had some back and forth with Spotify’s copyright algorithm taking issue with us using it (despite express permission from David!). Until that’s resolved, we’re going with this shortened version. There may also be some issues with Duncan’s mic in this episode – apologies. The Oh No No No podcast are proud to offer our full support to Andy’s Man Club. It was another exhibit for the case against Barry Robson on Saturday, as the Rovers failed to turn dozens of crosses into anything meaningful en route to a 2-1 defeat to Queen’s Park at Lesser Hampden.Duncan is joined by Allan, Blair, Robbie and Greig to look back on a frustrating afternoon, as the Spiders picked off the Rovers weaknesses and defended resolutely. The boys talk through the issues that surrounded the defeat, where things might have gone differently, and what the future might hold for Robson’s stewardship at Stark’s Park. Saturday brings a trip to Glasgow and it's a new stadium for the many of the Rovers faithful. Having been to Hampden Park on various occasions over the years, Raith will play their first away game at the continuingly controversial Lesser Hampden this Saturday. Having balloted the support, 225 or so away fans will make the trip. Robbie, Blair and Scott caught up to chat about the much maligned stadium (any Spiders fans can skip right on to 6:44 in the recording to miss a discussion you've heard a million times before), Sean Crighton's tough yet still somewhat impressive start to the Championship season, before discussing the Rovers perspective going into the game. An acrobatic 90th minute equaliser denied Raith Rovers a second home win on the bounce as Dougie Imrie's Greenock Morton took home what most spectators deemed a fair point for the visitors. Rovers had taken the lead through Jack Hamilton's first half header but failed to develop on their advantage before Kris Moore struck late in the game. Leslie takes the 'facilitator' role of hosting for the first time in this one, joined by Robbie, Carol and Duncan to discuss the match, the style of play and the atmosphere on a frustrating afternoon. It's back to Stark's Park this Saturday as Raith Rovers welcome this season's draw specialists Greenock Morton to town. Dougie Imrie's side have reached stalemates in 8 of their 12 fixtures so far, though last weekend a 4-0 first half battering from table topping St Johnstone led to Imrie making multiple changes at the interval. Robbie is back with Blair and Greig to chat about the Ton being a more difficult task than many might appreciate, before moving on the talk over the mood music within the Rovers support. Should McStay or Should Dargo is back to round things off. A note on the Intro and Outro for this episode. Just when it looked like October was going to be full of terrors, Barry Robson’s Rovers came back from the dead with a 2-0 win over Partick Thistle on Saturday. Duncan and Allan are joined by Ally Pilmer for an episode with a very different tone to the last post-match, and as well as covering the events of the game itself, they talk about the changes in Barry Robson’s approach, and wonder whether they over-reacted last week. A note on the Intro and Outro for this episode. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast. Robbie is joined by Leslie and Allan to preview Saturday's visit of Mark Wilson's high flying Jags to Stark's Park. The Maryhill side arrive at Stark's in fine fettle having gone unbeaten in 10, and with Rovers being on the end of three consecutive 3-0 losses it's safe to say this is a slightly more nihilistic episode! The Rovers’ October of horrors continued on Friday, with a real Fright Night in evidence at East End Park, with Barry Robson’s men succumbing to a 2-0 defeat which, in truth, could’ve been even worse. There was a noticeable turn against the manager from the East Stand on Friday, and on Sunday morning Duncan, Blair, Scott and Allan sat down to give their own thoughts on the events of the game, and more broadly on what three consecutive 2-0 defeats mean for Barry Robson and his future. As the runtime suggests, a series of opinions were offered.A note on the Intro for this episode. Welcome back to the Oh No No No podcast. After the frustration of last weekend, Raith Rovers will be given the best potential route to right the wrongs with the upcoming Fife derby. Having beaten Dunfermline at Stark's Park earlier in the season, it's yet another game under the lights as Barry Robson seeks a return to winning ways. Robbie, Greig, Scott and Allan are here to talk about what to expect from Neil Lennon's Pars who have endured an equally tough start to their league campaign. The focus then turns to how Rovers can put last week behind them and what options they might want to see going forwards. Should McStay or Should Dargo is set by Greig this time around! Scary season came early to Stark’s Park as the Rovers looked spooked by an Ayr United side who showed their killer instinct in the first half and were never seriously troubled in the second, comfortably winning 2-0. Duncan is joined by Robbie and Greig to talk through the key incidents in the game, but they devote more time to a general discussion on the Rovers recent slump, and try to pinpoint where things might have been going wrong. Robbie, Blair, Allan and debutante Greig are here to preview Raith Rovers upcoming fixture this weekend against Ayr United while keeping one eye on Scotland committing the biggest robbery Greece have seem since the Elgin Marbles. The group chat through what to expect from the Honest Men who are unbeaten on league duty since Dylan Easton's 30 yard lob in August. There's also the usual pre-match discussions about what they hope might happen, and what they think might happen. Should McStay or Should Dargo makes an appearance too. In the latest episode of our Europe '95 podcasts, Robbie took the time to chat to author and Raith Rovers fan Steven Lawther. Having followed the Rovers over multiple decades, Steven is publishing his second book 'We led in Munich', detailing the inside scoop from both players and fans on the European exploits of Rovers during their UEFA cup run in the autumn of 1995. Limited places are still available for the event at Waterstones Kirkcaldy where Steven will chat to Rovers legend Danny Lennon about his experiences during the run. Storm Amy might have come and gone, but it was Raith Rovers left blowing in the wind as Tony Docherty picked up his first win following two late goals for Ross County.. Robbie is joined by Carol and Leslie to talk through Barry Robson's line up, the lack of end product and what they made of the first quarter with all the talking points coming out of the loss in Dingwall. Rovers end their first quarter of the Championship season with a return to Dingwall to face a Ross County side who aren't without their troubles. Despite bringing in a plethora of new signings in the summer, and replacing Don Cowie with Tony Docherty, Roy McGregor's plaything are going into the match still looking for their first league win of the season. Robbie, Leslie and Scott sit down to preview Saturday's game including why the Staggies are finding life tough, what the rovers can take from the first round of fixtures before going through a SMOSD (which leaves the host rather embarrassed). There was no feast of football at the Albert Bartlett Stadium on Saturday, but Blair and Duncan do their best to talk through the points of interest that did come through in the 0-0 draw. There’s talk of wing-backs, the tactical approach, a last-gasp escape, and whether or not you’d have to pay a boxing referee to win a football match on points. The Oh No No No podcast are proud to offer our full support to Andy’s Man Club. Rovers will be hoping that it's third seasons the charm this Saturday as they make the trip to the Albert Bartlett stadium to face Airdrie. Having gone through a tumultous summer, the Diamonds replaced fans favourite Rhys McCabe with former Rovers legend Danny Lennon to a muted response. Barry Robson will be hoping to replicate the successful trips to difficult away grounds such as Cappielow and Somerset Park earlier this season, and though Airdrie were beaten by Partick last weekend, they showed plenty of fight. Robbie, Blair and Carol look ahead to the match and what to expect from the game, and whether Rovers might be in a position to mix it up. Should McStay or Should Dargo is of course included. Over the last 30 years, John Greechan has forged out a career within both Scottish and British Sports journalism. Currently the lead correspondent for Hibs at the Edinburgh Evening News, he was formerly the chief sports writer at the Scottish Daily Mail and has authored 'Revolution', an in-depth look at the rise of Ange Postecoglu. John's love for football isn't just superficial having taken the time to become a UEFA-qualified coach and analyst. The foundations for this career took place right in the golden years are firmly local. Starting in 1992 as a trainee at the Fife Free Press, his stint in Kirkcaldy Sport coincided with one of the most remarkable stories in Scottish football history where he had a press box seat to watch the Rovers win two league titles, a cup run and into Europe. In the first of a special series Robbie sits down with John to talk about his first steps into journalism, working with Jimmy Nicholl's cup winning squad before discussing the European adventures to the Faroes Islands, Iceland and on to watching local lads go up against Bayern Munich and some of the best players continental football had to offer at the time. It was another frustrating Saturday afternoon for Raith Rovers as they fell to their first home defeat in the league at the hands of leaders St Johnstone. Simo Valakari's side were clinical in their finishing, but Rovers didn't disgrace themselves by any means. Duncan is joined by Robbie to chat through the match, the lay of the land in the league and about Barry Robson's use of personel and systems.
