Why do the Mets always play the weirdest series in San Francisco? Just bizarre games, thankfully we saved the week with a big win Wednesday but we talked about how cool/weird it is to see Wilmer Flores and Michael Conforto, Luis Severino still looking good, Reed Garrett saved my life, and encouraging signs from Jeff McNeil and Francisco Lindor. Then our weekly prospect report. Christian Scott is super him, Nolan McLean had his best appearance as a pro, more Jonah Tong and Alex Ramirez hype, and a new Mets pitching prospect to watch. Then, a preview of the Cardinals series this weekend (we hate them so much).
Great series in LA for the Mets as they take 2 of 3 games from the Dodgers. Francisco Lindor is swinging the bat much better, DJ Stewart hit some big Home Runs, Starling Marte is looking great and Reed Garrett is NASTY. Andy Martino tried to take down the legendary rally pimp Max, we remind you of some of his worst takes. Then we head to San Francisco to take on the Giants! LFGM Lets go Mets
Get the brooms out baby. Mets complete their first sweep in over a year and we're super pumped. Trying not to get ahead of ourselves, but this team might be g**d. James is getting addicted to come from behind wins and is ridiculously hype about the Mets bullpen starting with Reed Garrett but also some huge adjustments from Adam Ottavino and Drew Smith. Marc talks about the vibes in the park and again guys, we are jacked up. After, we do our weekly prospect report going through the entire Mets system from Blade Tidwell to Kevin Parada to Jesus Baez to Wilson Lopez to Luisangel Acuna. Lastly, a preview of this weekend's series against the Dodgers.
Fun Mets weekend! Luis Severino and Brett Baty led the charge on Friday while the few people in Citi Field gave Francisco Lindor an ovation. Sean Manaea had his first rough start and James tries to figure out why he struggled from the Moroccans desert. Sunday was all about Doc Gooden until it was all about José Buttó. That’s our guy. Plus new segment Media Marvels and Pirates preview.
What a series in Atlanta for the Mets. Honestly we are both shocked how well this turned out, had low expectations but the Mets shocked everyone including the Braves taking 2 out of 3 in the series. Brandon Nimmo went off, DJ Stewart owns the poverty Braves, Brett Baty continues to be great and the Mets pitching stepped up again in a big way. Mets fans should be pumped, great series back home against the Royals this weekend. We also dive deep into Mets pitching prospects Christian Scott, Calvin Ziegler, Brandon Sproat, Jonah Tong & Nolan Maclean in our propsect report!
Mets end up squeaking out a series win in Cincinnati against the Reds despite some questionable managerial decisions by Carlos Mendoza. Brett Baty is really starting to look like a great ballplayer, Francisco Lindor might be heating up, and the Mets pitching continues to look really good. These games were ugly, they were stressful but thats what we can expect from the 2024 Mets. Great series win, onto Atlanta to face the Braves!
Oh boy, this almost got real bad. It was still pretty bad. We talked about the Mets blowing the first two games of this series despite some great play from Brett Baty, Francisco Álvarez, Sean Manaea, and Adrian Houser including a few questionable decisions by Carlos Mendoza. Luckily, on the backs of José Butto, Reed Garrett, and Pete Alonso we finally got a win. Fun times. Also, a preview of the Reds series and analysis of Christian Scott's first start in AAA
Miserable weekend. Downright awful. We are not happy and talk about everything from the team's poor play to the Rhys Hoskins debacle to Luis Severino's start, and much more. Such an awful way to start the season.
METS BASEBALL IS BACK BABY. We talk everything from final roster cuts, most important players, story lines to watch, bold predictions, our favorite Mets futures bets, a really stupid draft between us, some Mets Twitter drama, and our general plans for the season. Long, stupid, fun, LFGM.
Mets have signed JD Martinez to a 1 year deal worth roughly $5m with money deferred for years after. This move is awesome for the team and we are pumped to give you our reactions to the news!
Christian Scott was so impressive we had to do an episode about it. Huge breakdown of his outing, his stuff, and when we think he'll debut with the Mets. Then some roster housekeeping like Tylor Megill being officially named SP5 and roster cut stuff. Lastly, is David Stearns a Mets fan? One Reddit user isn't so sure.
We’re buzzing over the Mets prospects from the breakout game, especially pitchers Brandon Sproat and Nolan McLean. Steve Cohen talked to the media and had some really funny sound bites while also saying nothing at all. We answer your questions about the batting order, prospects, and more!
Edwin Díaz is back JD Martinez might be in play, JD Davis might come home, Brandon Nimmo needs to hit leadoff, Pete Alonso shouldn’t hit clean-up, and prospects to watch on Friday during the Spring Breakout Game
Lots of fun Spring Training stories to get to. Francisco Álvarez has been playing possessed and is already getting star treatment (03:39:24-07:38:22) There's talk of taking Brandon Nimmo out of the lead-off spot and we don't like it (07:38:22-12:54:17) All of our starters had great weeks including Luis Severino who likes super nice (12:54:17-25:57:21) The bullpen is pretty exciting but there will be some tough decisions to make before Opening Day (25:57:21-34:36:10) Mark Vientos, Pete Alonso, and a surprising prospect impressed us (34:36:10-40:28:18) We preview the Spring Breakout game happening next Friday. Fun show! Baseball!!
Pete Alonso is one of the best power hitters in baseball but rumors are swirling like crazy about his future with the Mets. We break down what he's worth, what kind of contract he will probably get, and how good we expect him to be this season (hint, very good).
Trying something new this year and going to preview as many players on the team we can before the season! Starting with Francisco Lindor. We give him a lot of credit for being really good and talk about whether or not he's on track for the Hall of Fame.
Whole bunch of Spring Training stuff today. Luis Severino was throwing gas, Sean Manaea didn't look good but then cut his hair, and then a whole bunch of excitement from Christian Scott and Blade Tidwell. Then, looking into Starling Marte's return and where we want him to hit in the lineup this season. It's Spring baby baseball is almost back!
Tim Healey joins us from Port St. Lucie to tell you guys everything that has been going on in Mets camp. We talk Carlos Mendoza, Pete Alonso, Francisco Álvarez, Kodai Senga and much more. Plus, that time Mickey Callway and Jason Vargas went after Tim.
Spring Training is here, Mets baseball is back and we have a lot to discuss! Francisco Alvarez has looked amazing early in Spring, bound for a breakout season. Tylor Megill debuted his new splitter and it wouldnt be a Mets'd Up episode if we didnt get excited about Jose Butto in Spring Training! SIGN UP FOR AURA https://aura.com/metsdup
Kodai Senga will start the year on the injured list and could be out longer. We react to the news and think about where else the Mets can realistically find his replacement
