Anna-Maria Boelskov I Naturopath & Birth Doula  2 followers2  5 tracks5 As the follow-up and the second part to episode 16 with Charlottes twin's birth, I am excited to bring you this three-way conversation with Charlotte and Dr Andrew Bisits, the obstetrician who played a key role in her twin's birth. This episode delves into the beautiful synergy of trust and respect that defined Charlotte's birth experience. Dr. Bisits shares his perspective on the birth, offering insights into how the collaborative relationship between him and Charlotte contributed to the successful and empowering delivery of her twins. Join us as we explore the dynamic interplay between a dedicated mother and a supportive medical professional, highlighting the importance of mutual respect and trust in achieving a positive birth outcome. Charlotte’s story, enriched by Dr. Bisits’ reflections, offers a moving example of how teamwork in birth can lead to extraordinary results. Introducing my new guest, Dr. Andrew Bisits. Andrew currently works as Head of Obstetrics at the Royal Women’s Randwick and supports women in having physiological births where possible. Dr. Bistis was also Head of Obstetrics at John Hunter Hospital from 2007 to 2015. Introducing Charlotte Romanet: Charlotte Romanet is a 40-year-old single mother by choice, she was born and raised in France by a French father and American mother and moved to Australia permanently in 2017. She has 3 children from the same unknown donor: 2.5 year old Theo and 7-month old twins Arthur and Ella, all born in Randwick. Charlotte absolutely loved giving birth to all 3 of her children with minimal intervention and is hoping to encourage others to pursue similar empowering and wonderful birth experiences. When she’s not spending quality time with her children, she works in Supply Chain strategy and planning at Lion, a beer company, and loves traveling, scuba diving and sky diving.
In this episode of Mumspire, I'm thrilled to share a heartfelt chat with Charlotte Romanet, a remarkable single mother by choice to three wonderful kids. Charlotte opens up about her inspiring journey of giving birth to her twins naturally and without an epidural—a story that’s as touching as it is powerful. As Charlotte's doula for both of her births, I had the privilege of witnessing her incredible strength and determination firsthand. In this episode, we dive into the highs and lows of her hospital experience and her quest for a physiological birth. Charlotte's candid reflections and the obstacles she overcame offer a genuine look at what it means to advocate for yourself in the birthing process. Don’t miss this insightful conversation! And make sure to tune in to Episode 18, where we speak with Dr. Andrew Bisits, Charlotte’s obstetrician on the day of her twin birth, to get his perspective on this extraordinary journey. I still belive the word natural is appropriate in the title.
A conversation with Tony Tow. The first of a series of speaking with new fathers about their initiation into fatherhood. Statistics show that going from Man to Father is not an easy ride, and while women get the bulk of prenatal, birth and postnatal attention, new fathers are pretty much left on the sideline without much support or guidance. New fathers often return to work quickly after the birth and maintain a ‘normal’ life whilst everything around them has been turned upside down. This series is my intention to offer more awareness enquiry about how men are doing in the early weeks, months and years of fatherhood. In this episode, I speak with Tony Tow from www.Mantribe.com.au - I had the pleasure of supporting Tony and his wife, Jess Osie as their Doula for the two births of their babies.
