Coach Bednar is still recovering from that errant puck he took to the face, so we let him sleep in this morning. We also don't know if he can talk? How easy is it to talk with a broken face and a scratched cornea? Either way, he earned a day off. No Moser, no Vic, no Bednar, no problem! The show must go on! Erik Johnson tapped in for the injured Coach and had a nice one-on-one chat with Kaner this morning.
Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar joined us this morning! We let him sleep in a little bit, but he still had to wake up and talk to us, unfortunately. Does Coach have an update on Kadri? Does he plan on resting any of his big guns in these last few games before the playoffs? What's on Coach's mind this morning?
You can all exhale now. Coach Bednar says Cale Makar's injury isn't serious. He'll miss a few games with precautionary rest, and he'll be back in time to chase Lord Stanley.
Because of their travel schedule, Coach Bednar joined us a little early this morning. Last night, Bedsie said he thought his team played sloppy overall and that Wedgewood bailed them out time and time again. Wedgie was the best player on the ice for Colorado. Does he still feel that way this morning? How great is it to have guys re-entering the lineup? The line combos are starting to look more "normal" again, if you will.
The Avalanche got SHELLACKED by Pittsburgh on Monday night, and they have a massive game against Dallas tonight. For all the marbles in the Western Conference (essentially). How is Head Coach Jared Bednar feeling ahead of the game? Is his battered, beat up, bruised squad ready? Also, Nathan MacKinnon made a comment after the Pittsburgh loss about how the lineups weren't working, and shouldn't look they way they did. Everyone's been making a big deal out of it on social media. MacKinnon called out his coach! Here's the thing...Coach told us today that MacKinnon's comments weren't out of line at all. In fact, Bedsie agrees with him.
Bedsie was fired up last night about MacKinnon's penalty and ejection. Has his mind changed at all after a good night's sleep? Let's also pick his brain about the game as a whole, and get an injury update on guys like Landy and LOC.
Quite the opposite. Bedsie loves how Gabe is playing right now.We also got an injury update from Coach, and previewed Friday's MASSIVELY important clash with the Dallas Stars.
After a (much deserved) 3-week hiatus, Jared Bednar joined us again today! We asked him about the Sam Girard trade, the Olympic break, and the thrilling Gold Medal Match between USA and Canada that featured like half of his Avalanche roster (at least that's what it felt like).
The Avalanche have ONE last game before the NHL's Olympic Break. How's Avs Head Coach Jared Bednar feeling about his squad as they head into some much-needed time off?
Sam Malinski just inked a 4-year extension with the Avalanche. Head Coach Jared Bednar had nothing but good things to say about Malinski and his journey this morning when he joined us for his weekly appearance.
Has Jared Bednar finally learned what goaltender interference is? Has anyone given him an answer? Does the league even know? Let's see if Coach has done more research into one of life's many great mysteries.
(If Italy learns how to build a functioning hockey rink) The Olympic break is around the corner! Even though the Avalanche/Colorado Wagon is rolling right now, the roster isn't fully healthy! Coach Bednar is hoping to finish these last 10 or so games on a high note, stash some points, get some rest, then attack the back half of the season with a full roster. Fingers crossed.Did the Avs catch the same plague that we all did? The team actually has an extended bit of rest before they host Nasvhille on Friday. How are they using the extra time off? Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar answered all our burning questions this morning.
The Avs just returned from a 3 game road trip out East. They won one, and lost back-to-back games in regulation. Plus, Landeskog got injured and will miss some time. All things considered, how is Avalanche Head Coach Jared Bednar feeling about his squad right now?Plus, let's get Coach's thoughts on a particularly loaded Moseys category.
One final Avs game in 2025! How's Jared Bednar feeling about his squad? On Monday in his postgame interview, he said he was concerned about the Power Play. Why? Can we expect to see Logan O'Connor any time soon? And most importantly, which member of the morning show would Bednar NOT want to see his daughter date?
To be the man, you gotta beat the man. And right now, the Avs are the man. Every team right now, even the Cellar Dwellers, will give the Avs their best effort no matter what. And that's good motivation, according to Head Coach Jared Bednar. What are coach's other takeaways from last night's big win in Seattle?
What exactly happened with Wedgewood getting pulled mid-shootout last night? How did Coach see it all go down from the bench? Is there way to eliminate shootouts from the NHL? What would the new overtime format be? We'll get all the answers about Colorado's loss in Nashville from the man himself.
I feel like a broken record here, but your Colorado Avalanche are RED HOT right now! Yesterday, they beat the Canucks 3-1 to continue their hot streak at Ball Arena. What does Head Coach Jared Bednar think of this squad that continues to climb up the NHL standings? Also, how superstitious is Coach? Does he make sure to maintian the same routine every day so the hot streak continues?
Avs are back in action tonight against the San Jose Sharks! Let's preview the game with Head Coach Jared Bednar. We'll also pick Bedsie's brain on Wedgewood's stellar season and get a full injury update.
The Avs are in the middle of a 3-day break between games. They don't suit up again until tomorrow! How's Jared Bednar passing the time during this extended rest? Is his squad taking advantage of the time off?
The Avalanche are unstoppable right now, and last night they defeated the red-hot Los Angeles Ducks of Anaheim. How does Bednar feel about his squad right now? It's only November, but are they already playoff ready?
