What if “supporting the immune system” isn’t enough? In this thought-provoking episode, a panel of integrative practitioners explores how to move beyond short-term immune support toward lasting immune resilience-the body’s capacity to adapt, recover, and maintain balance through life’s physical and emotional stressors. Join us as we unpack the key pillars that influence resilient immunity: emotional balance and nervous system regulation, effective drainage and detoxification pathways, and the foundational role of gut health. Together, these systems determine not just how the body defends itself, but how it restores equilibrium after challenge.  Key Takeaways:●     Discover the difference between immune support and immune resilience, and why it matters for long-term patient outcomes.●     Understand how emotional regulation and stress physiology shape immune adaptability.●     Explore how proper drainage and detoxification help maintain internal balance and optimal immune function.●     Learn how gut integrity and microbial diversity provide the foundation for sustained resilience  Speaker Bios: Emily Hartsfield, NDDr. Hartsfield is a Naturopathic Physician and leads Practitioner Support and  Product Quality at Energetix. We are in the midst of a psychedelic revolution with virtually every major academic medical institution in the US operating a psychedelic research lab. Psilocybin is one of the best studied of these substances, acting through a variety of mechanisms including BDNF generated neuroplasticity, anti-inflammatory immune modulation, neurotransmitter activation (serotonin HT2A/B, dopamine, glutamine), gut-brain axis support, and more, the active ingredient in "magic mushrooms" supports a high state of neural entropy which is believed to be a primary mechanism in the ability to rewire the brain and address old burdens with a new perspective.  With an impeccable safety profile and very compelling outcomes with a variety of mental health and neurological conditions ranging from depression and anxiety to addiction, trauma, and dementia, psilocybin remains a Schedule 1 drug and illegal in most states and municipalities. There are, however, a few exceptions.  Based on the 2018/19 FDA designation as a Breakthrough Therapy, the doors to research are open wider than ever. And under the protection of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993-federal legislation passed to offer protected use of entheogenic plants within the context of sincere spiritual practice. There is a pathway to access beyond the limited geographic decriminalization offered in Oregon and Colorado. Listen in as I chat with the founders of one such non-profit church, rooted in Naturopathic Medicine principles, as they safely and responsibly bring the healing power of psilocybin to those who can benefit. Speaker Bios:Rev. Leah Linder, NDWith a background in biochemistry and emergency medicine, Leah is a naturopathic physician trained in psychedelic-assisted therapy with deep expertise in natural supplement formulation and manufacturing. She is a Master Gardener, experienced educator, and ordained minister. Rev. Pam ConboyWith a background in biology, Pam was trained as a clinical laboratorian and is currently a doctoral student in naturopathic medicine. Today we’re talking with Dr. Lexi Loch about Inflammation. Inflammation can be life-saving and also life-threatening. The acute inflammatory response helps the body heal, defend, and repair. However, when inflammation persists without resolution, chronic inflammation ensues. Chronic inflammation is one of the biggest contributors to chronic health conditions. Prioritizing lifestyle and nutrition changes can make a huge impact, along with targeted supplementation. Curcumin with turmeric essential oil has been shown to modulate almost every inflammatory pathway in the body, while also promoting resolution of inflammation. Boswellia excels at modulating inflammation from the 5-LOX pathway, which can translate to reductions in lung, gastrointestinal, and joint inflammation. Omega-3 fatty acids are precursors to compounds called specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs), like resolvins and protectins, that help resolve inflammation. Dr. Lexi Loch, ND received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine, where she graduated with highest honors. In addition to her practice, she is a medical writer and editor, researcher, educator, and patient advocate. Her articles have been published in various natural health periodicals and reference books. Prior to her education as a physician, Dr. Loch worked in veterinary medicine as a certified veterinary technician. She is also an accomplished athlete, playing collegiate volleyball and participating in overseas tournaments, an avid snowboarder, and has been world-ranked in downhill longboarding.  Related Content: Pain Relief: Beyond NSAIDs - https://todayspractitioner.com/pain-management/pain-relief-beyond-nsaids/ Curcumin and Turmerones: A Powerful Natural Medicine Explained - https://todayspractitioner.com/botanical-medicine/curcumin-and-turmerones-a-powerful-natural-medicine-explained/ Boswellia for Pain: 3 Supporting Studies - https://todayspractitioner.com/botanical-medicine/boswellia-for-pain-3-supporting-studies/  Thanks for listening in. Medical intuition is the skill of using intuitive perception to assess both the physical and the subtle energy systems of the body, for physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health and wellbeing. Medical Intuition is designed to assist health care providers in a cost-effective, targeted approach to a patient’s presenting concerns, and is not meant to serve as a diagnosis of illness or disease. The holistic perspective of medical intuition aligns with an integrative, Whole Health approach to healthcare. Although the skill of using intuitive perception to assess health conditions can be traced back to ancient times, medical intuition as an organized profession, is regarded as an emerging field. In this episode of the OneMedicine Podcast, we explore the legal and ethical questions surrounding the use of medical intuition in the clinical setting. Why is SIBO (small intestinal bowel overgrowth) challenging to treat? Might the issue lie in hasty diagnoses and repetitive treatments without deeply exploring the root cause of SIBO? Understanding Long Covid: and an Effective Protocol from Jacob Teitelbaum, MD As the initial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, healthcare practitioners are facing its weighty aftermath—long COVID, and its plethora of respiratory, neurologic, cardiovascular, and other symptoms that can linger for weeks, months, or even years following the initial infection. While researchers scramble for causes and cures, efforts are focusing on managing the condition and mitigating its devastating manifestations. In this episode, we talk with Jacob Teitelbaum, MD about long covid and a treatment protocol he is using to improve the quality of life of patients dealing with major disruptions in their quality of life due to long covid. Dr T is well known for his work helping patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. “The fatigue, brain fog, pain, and disordered sleep associated with long COVID simply reflect post-viral chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia,” says Teitelbaum. “These are very old conditions, and it took more than 40 years and hundreds of studies, including eight by me, to help us understand the causes and effective treatment of these conditions.” Pharmacological approaches are limited: there are currently no medications for the condition itself, and drug therapies are purely symptomatic. Originally designed to treat chronic fatigue syndrome and post-viral CFS, the SHINE Protocol, developed by Dt T is an effective therapy for the unremitting fatigue and other complaints associated with long COVID. The SHINE protocol focuses on restoring energy production and reversing the effects of the hypothalamic and immune dysfunction. Guest Bio:Jacob Teitelbaum, MD, (a.k.a. "Dr. T") is a board-certified internist and nationally known expert in the fields of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, sleep, and pain. He has authored numerous books including the best-selling From Fatigued to Fantastic! (now in its 4th edition). He is the lead author of numerous studies on effective treatment for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, and one study on effective treatment of autism using NAET. He also developed the popular free smartphone app "Cures A-Z."
