K-Pop Review: October 2024

2024-11-1801:07:14

It was a nice, normal October in the k-pop world, consisting of a steady stream of releases from many artists. We didn't feel strongly about the majority of them, but it was a good month! Artists mentioned: Yuta (NCT), Xdinary Heroes, ITZY, &TEAM, aespa, Seventeen, The Boyz, and StayC.
We're all moved in and back to podcasting! August and September were surprisingly uneventful months, containing mostly very standard releases. But there were a few that stood out to us... Artists mentioned: fromis_9, Lisa (Blackpink), Young Posse, Le Sserafim, Loossemble, Riize, Onewe, Tzuyu (Twice), naevis (aespa), Yeonjun (TXT), and P1Harmony.
Well, it finally happened... There's no k-pop we want to talk about. July was a relatively standard month in k-pop, but we just weren't enthusiastic enough about what did release to fill a regular episode. Instead of skipping the month altogether, we decided to check in with the rest of the music world. Azalea joins us to talk about our favorite non-kpop songs of this year — so far! — as well as some other releases we wanted to discuss. Artists mentioned: Bring Me The Horizon, Alice Longyu Gao, 12th House Sun, Brittany Howard, Caroline Polachek, Camellia, Doechii, Charli xcx, flowerovlove, Dog Race, Chelsea Wolfe, The Last Dinner Party, Everything Everything, Flyana Boss, Rachel Chinouriri, Future Islands, Kali Uchis, RaiNao, Jamie xx, Maggie Rogers, øneheart, Vampire Weekend, Megan Thee Stallion, MGMT, TURQUOISEDEATH, Twenty One Pilots, Porter Robinson, and Zach Bryan.
