Jacob wasn’t perfect but he gets a bad wrap from many people today. What he is most criticized for (deceiving his dad) is actually the responsibility of his mother Rebecca who told him to do it! At times though he was afraid and made poor choices e.g. leaving his father in law Laban without saying goodbye, but Jacob was only human and despite his humanity God used him to help birth a nation!
