We often hear about powerful skincare ingredients like Retinol, Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid but what many people don’t realise is that the ingredient itself is only part of the story. In this episode we’re e’re talking about something that can completely change how you understand skincare: formulation Two products can content the same ingredient and deliver completely different results. Why? Because how ingredients are combined, stabilised and delivered into the skin matters just as much as the ingredient itself. In the episode, we discuss:What a skincare formulation actually isWhy ingredients alone don’t guarantee results Why some products irritate the skin while others support itHow formulations affects ingredient stability and penetrationWhy good skincare supports the skin barrier rather than overwhelming itUnderstanding formulation helps you choose skincare more intelligently rather than just chasing trending ingredients.Because great skincare isn’t just about what’s in the bottle…… it’s about how it designed to work with your skin
Retinol is often called the gold standard for healthy, glowing, age, defying skin but using it incorrectly can leave your skin irritated and inflamed. In this episode I breakdown what vitamin A actually is why it’s important for skin health and how to introduce it safely and gradually for long-term results. We’ll also talk about the importance of protecting your skin barrier on why a step-up approach makes all the difference. If you’ve been unsure about starting retinol this episode is for you.
If your skin feels dry, reactive, tight or unpredictable, your skin barrier could be the missing piece. I share simple practical steps to repair and strengthen it from gentle cleansing and vitamin A to lifestyle support so your skin can feel calm, resilient and glowing again. For virtual and in person consultations check out my website
Healthy skin isn’t just about what you apply. It’s also influenced by what’s happening internally. In this episode, we explore the powerful connection between gut health and skin health, including how overly processed foods, excess sugar and chronic stress can contribute to inflammation, breakouts, sensitivity and premature ageing. You’ll learn simple realistic ways to support your gut, so your skin can feel calmer, stronger, and more balanced from the outside.
If your skincare routine suddenly stopped working you’re not imagining it - and you’re not doing anything wrong. In this episode, we talk about why skin starts to feel different after 35 and what’s really happening beneath the surface. From changes in hydration and barrier function to the role hormones play, this episode breaks down why the products that once worked may no longer feel effective. We will also talk about the biggest skincare mistake women make at this stage - doing more instead of supporting the skin - and what your skin actually needs to stay healthy and age well. This episode sets the foundation for simplifying your skincare, letting go of trends and learning how to care for your skin with confidence.
Before we dive into skincare education, I wanted to start by sharing a little about me and why this podcast exists. In this short introductory episode, I talk about my own skin journey - from dealing with chronic inflammation, pigmentation, premature ageing and constant breakouts to having very little confidence in my skin and never leaving the house without make-up. I share how taking a more holistic approach - supporting my skin externally while also focusing on gut health and diet - completely changed the way I care for my skin and shaped how I help other women today. This episode is an honest introduction to my approach to skincare why I focus on skin health over trends and what you can expect from That Healthy Skin Girl Podcast.

I’ve seen this skin condition 3 times in just the last week. Often, and understandably so clients don’t realise they have a skin condition that needs a targeted approach and will continue using skincare that is making it worse or head to the doctors coming away with no long term solution. In todays episode I’m going to share how I get results for my clients with a holistic approach. Even if you haven’t got this skin condition now it will be super useful for you because it’s easy to bring on a skin condition like this with the wrong skincare for you. 😊
Your evening cleansing routine is the most important step for your skin at the end of the day. Not properly cleaning your skin can lead to a damaged skin barrier, lack of radiance, dehydration, inflammation, breakouts and ageing up to 7 times faster 😱 I’m not a fan of baby wipes, face wipes, micellar water, soap/drying face washes or exfoliating face washes and neither will you be when you learn the truth about them. I’ve packed in all my top tips so that you can level up your cleansing routine to vastly improve the health of your skin 💪🏼
This is a question I get asked all the time. How long does skincare take to work? How long until I see results. In todays episode I’m going to answer this question in the hope that you’ll start to be more consistent with your skincare because that’s what your skin loves.
In todays episode I’m sharing 5 morning habits that will improve your stress levels, balance your hormones and sugar spikes, help you be more productive and positive throughout the day, reduce your skin concerns and help you sleep better at night. I mean who doesn’t want a little bit of all that?? 😆 They are such simple habits, take no real time and are very often overlooked just because it has become the norm. There are lots of actionable takeaways for you, enjoy 💖
A question I get asked all the time is ‘but what products do I actually need and what order do I use them in. What should my routine look like?’ So that’s exactly what I’m answering in todays episode 💖
Todays episode is all about pigmentation so if you’re suffering with this you need to listen in. I’ll explain ehat it is, how it comes about and most importantly how you can improve things. Whilst currently there is never any promises that pigmentation can be 100% reversed there are so many things that can be done to help and my skin transformation is evidence of that. Enjoy 😊
You could be causing this with your choice of skincare products. You’ve got spots so you buy your skincare for this concern often with no regard to what your skin actually needs to be happy, healthy and protected or what your skin type needs. This ends in you drying your skin, damaging your skin barrier and causing more spots because your skin doesn’t know what the hell to do with its excess skin cells and excess sebum. In todays episode I explain more on this and what to do instead to help you clear up your skin. I hope you enjoy the episode. I would love to hear from you and for you to leave me a review too 💖
I get asked all the time what is the best thing for collagen so here are my tips tips across diet, nutrition, skincare products and treatments. Enjoy 😊
The moment I realised that my inflamed face, pigmentation and spots were linked to my digestive issues, my irregular bowel movements, my bloating, my mental health I was like ‘oh this makes so much sense’ and I was so excited because I finally had the answer to everything in my hands and the answer was quite simple. Today I want to share a bit more a deeper dive into my story because I know so many of you will relate to the symptoms I had lived for years with and will currently be looking for a solution. I hope you can take something away from this to help and if you would like to reachout to speak to me you can DM me on Instagram I’m @thathealthskingirl
