Welcome back. Summer hiatus is officially over. As I retrurned to the mic this week I wanted to get a breakdown of the plea in the Idaho 4 case.
Legal expert Matt Mangino joined us and highlighted that Koberger's decision not to elaborate on his motives was not unusual in plea agreements, especially when the defendant is not compelled to provide such information.
Listen to the full episode to get a total understanding of this controversial plea deal.

I'd like to introduce the Jordan Harbinger Show which I have been listening to a ton. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
On October 24th, 1994, 24 year old Leah Ulbrich was callously murdered in what would turn out to be one of the most "gruesome" crime scenes in Connecticut history.

Authorities on Long Island have identified a woman long associated with the Gilgo Beach murders investigation as Tanya Denise Jackson, a U.S. Army veteran who was living in Brooklyn at the time of her death in 1997. Jackson, also known as "Peaches," due to her tattoo, was born in Alabama. Her remains were discovered in June 1997, concealed in a container in a wooded area of Hempstead Lake State Park. DNA analysis conducted during the Gilgo investigation linked her to the remains of a female child found along Ocean Parkway near Cedar Beach in 2011. That child, identified as Tatiana Marie Dykes, has now been confirmed as Jackson's daughter.

Author Jesse Pollack joins me to discuss his new book Room 100: Sid, Nancy, and the Night Punk Rock Died and the latest documentary about the Gilgo Four, Gone Girls.
One of the primary criticisms is that while "Lost Girls" and "Gone Girls" aim to highlight the stories of the victims, they do not delve deeply enough into their lives. For instance, Shannan Gilbert, who is presented as a central figure, is not explored in a way that reveals her complexities as a person.
The documentaries gloss over significant aspects of her life, such as her aspirations to be an actress and singer, her financial struggles, and her experiences with domestic abuse. This lack of detail diminishes the audience's ability to empathize with her and understand the circumstances that led her to sex work.

On Saturday August 8, 1982 Beth Bramlett, a 17 year old white female, went to a party at Trading House Lake Reservoir with some of her friends. A fight broke out at the party and Beth decided to leave. That was the last time any of her friends saw Beth alive.
At the crime scene, he said, Bramlett’s body was laid across the tracks, face down, and didn’t appear to have been brutalized, but when investigators turned her over, it appeared someone had chewed or gnawed, maybe even eaten a part of her body.

Thank you to our connection at CrimeCon, Evergreen Execs, FilmRise, and Nancy Grace for making this week's show happen.
BLOODLINE DETECTIVES explores the power of genealogy and the latest forensic technology used by law enforcement to bring justice to unsolved homicides and sex crimes. The series uses Familial DNA taken from the crime scene and DNA that people have submitted to genealogy sites to see if there is someone who is a close match. From there, genealogists can figure out who the suspect should be, and police can then make an arrest. Host Nancy Grace guides viewers through each episode's case along with expert interviewers, dramatic reconstructions, and archival footage.

wth. this is literally the only podcast I could find that covered this horrific case. other podcasters should step up. and more wth. these two hosts talk about pretty much everything under the sun for fifty minutes except say very little about the murdered child that the podcast is supposed to be about. they sound like they are both baked. quite a departure from their usual quality of work, and unfortunate- because no one else seems to have covered this case.
Abby and Libby should be living their lives, driving, dating, and making plans for college, but instead a coward took that from them. He stole so much more than their precious lives, he robbed their families and friends of all of the greatness and memories those young ladiea were going to make. its been almost 4 years! THOSE GIRL NEED JUSTICE!!! GET IT TOGETHER ISP! Look at the Denise Pflumb (sp) case and see what help that dept used used and let others help out! There is no glory in letting a case go unsolved for years just becauae you want to be the heros.
Kelsey is such a strong wonderful young lady my heart breaks for her. praying for a resolution for her and her family . Libby and Abby need justice. the coward needs to be brought to justice.
I hope Alissa gets the justice and one day she is found and returned to Sarah 💙
he might have been drugging her
Very interesting and some great insight from Nic too
Really interesting stuff discussed in this episode, particularly with regard to profile.
The woman who was being interviewed needs a reality check! No actual evidence and yet she hands out photos of someone she suspects. People need to ease up on the amateur sleuthing, some of it can be intelligent and we'll constructed, others though are just astonishing.
A great series and i just hope they find answers to this awful case very soon.
Very, very good podcast and we'll narrated.
If he saw her picture with her name, was her school named as well? He could have followed her home from school and got her address and then called.
love your podcast yeshhh Nic❤💜
This episode followed a white rabbit. Wear your tinfoil and leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find your way home.
Great podcast! Keep up the good work.
I thought this podcast was well put together and very listenable. Hopefully gaining a wider audience will help solve this poor child's murder.
um...we could just get to the point, the podcaster spends the first 10 minutes reliving his 10th year. which my mom and I found annoying and pointless. we did not open the podcast to hear about the authors 10th year of life. we wanted to hear a full podcast about the case. disappointing.
Great first episode! 👌
