In the 40 years Pure Life Ministries has been counseling, we've never stopped supplying Biblical answers to those in sexual sin, to wives in their devastation, and to the sincere believer in their walk with the Lord. In this episode, we answer some of our most common questions, as well as viewers’ concerns on their personal journey with God. Questions like: • How can I know my husband has truly repented? • Am I in a dry time because of hidden sin? • How can I balance life's responsibilities and my relationship with God? Joshua Broadhurst and Bernardo Arjona answer questions like these in this month's Q&A.   Resources we mentioned: #656 - The Modern Face of Idolatry (Podcast) By Pure Life Ministries Pure Life Ministries Residential Program
David prayed "Search me, O God, and know my heart." What a bold request! What would happen if you asked Him to search your heart? It may feel unsettling to think about—but it can change everything. Could there be hidden idols shaping your life without you realizing it?   On today’s podcast, we explore why this question matters and how it could transform your walk with Christ. Join us for an enlightening discussion you won’t want to miss.   Resources we mentioned: The Ten Commandments: Reasonable Rules for Life (Book) By D.L. Moody
"The Revelation of Jesus Christ." From its very first verse, the final book of the Bible presents us with a profound question: Is this a message from Jesus about the future, or is it an unveiling of Jesus Himself?   Revelation is certainly filled with deep mysteries and complex symbolism, but it is not meant to be ignored. It is a book of awe and urgency that every believer is called to read, hear, and heed.   Discover the blessing promised to those who embrace this prophecy as we venture through the book of Revelation with Steve Gallagher in this series of interviews from our archives.
We live in a universe of cause and effect. As Galatians 6 warns, "Whatever a man sows, this he will also reap."   So what happens when someone continually sows to idols instead of God? This episode, we dig into the patterns of a self-serving life, expose the spiritual dangers, and reveal the inevitable consequences that follow.   Resources we mentioned: i: The Root of Sin Exposed (Book) By Steve Gallagher
From the Chapel: It is impossible to serve two masters, for we will love one and hate the other. We cannot hate the world in our flesh. We must see how beautiful Jesus is if we are to turn away from sin.   Resources we mentioned: When I Saw Him: Where Revival Begins (Book) By Roy Hession
Idolatry isn't only for ancient times. Idolatry is alive TODAY! Take a journey through the history of idol worship (and even do a little science) for a deeper understanding of how it works, how the Lord is affected by it, and what it means for your Christian walk. It's an amazing thing when the person who sees our sins and flaws most clearly is also completely devoted to seeing us walk in victory. In Ep. 05 of our series, "On the Same Team," we'll talk with PLM graduates Bob and Lori about one of the big focuses in their marriage: building each other up in love.   Resources: The Story of Bob & Lori (Testimony) On the Same Team (Podcast Series)
What role has "mercy" played in your strategy while battling sexual sin? For many believers, it only goes beyond God's gracious canceling of their sin. But mercy is so much more than that! It's a force to be reckoned with and has served as the linchpin for many Pure Life grads in their life-long freedom from addiction. In this episode, Biblical counselor, Regan Bowman, opens our eyes to the transforming power of God's everlasting mercy.   📧Email: podcast@purelifeministries.org   Resources we mentioned: #442 - |Victory| Mercy Saved Frank's Life (Podcast Episode) By Pure Life Ministries Lost No More (Frank Leonetti’s Testimony)
Timeless Truths: Walking through the aftermath of our sin can easily lead us into self-pity. It can also lead us to ignore lessons God is trying to teach us. But if we walk through consequences by putting our trust in the Lord and seeking to learn the lessons He has for us, we will find a tremendous amount of good can come out of them.   In this interview from the archives, Austin Kropf joins us to share some of the attitudes we should have if we are to let the Lord have His way and accomplish His will in our lives while going through the effects of sin.
When you look at your daily choices, what do they reveal about your true devotion? If someone observed your life for a period of time, what would they say defined you? Our devotions aren't just what we say we value. They're revealed in how we live. In episode 4 of our "Wholly Devoted Disciples" series, we unpack the vital topic of devotion and challenge ourselves to live fully for Jesus.   Pure Life Ministries 26th Annual Conference   Resources we mentioned: The Story of Nolan & Kendra (Testimony) Download Our Smartphone App
The Old Testament is full of imagery of God's holiness. The consecration of the priests and vessels for the temple powerfully illustrate how we must reflect that holiness ourselves. But a lot of Christians today seem to think holy and consecrated lifestyles are just for those who lived during the "first big section of the Bible."   But the truth is, they really do apply to our lives today, and are deeply connected to victory over sexual sin.   Pure Life Ministries 26th Annual Conference   Resources we mentioned: #359 - What Role Does Consecration Play in Freedom from Porn? The heart of our podcast has been and always will be to help people grapple with the real truths of Christianity and apply them to their lives. That's not always comfortable, and it's not always what we hear in the Christian culture of our day, but it is the truth that sets men free—and keeps them free! Director of Ministry Outreach, Patrick Hudson, steps in front of the camera to share a brief word about how we plan to accomplish this moving in to 2026!   📧Email: podcast@purelifeministries.org Subscribe to Our eNews   Follow Us on Social Media: Website Youtube Facebook X Instagram
When a Christian learns what the Lord offers His followers through His grace and their faith, they can live a truly different life. Now grace and faith are two of the most foundational concepts in Christianity. Many may think that means they don’t really need to hear any more about them in order to win the battle against sexual sin. But the truth is that, far too often, these crucial components of Christianity are terribly misunderstood. That’s partly why so many Christians are stuck in sin.   Pure Life Ministries 26th Annual Conference   Resources we mentioned: View Truth #19 On Our YouTube Page Download Our Smartphone App
Devotion. What do you think of when you hear that word? Maybe it conjures up a sense of loyalty, of someone or something always being there—dedication. Our latest series is called, “Wholly Devoted Disciples” where we will touch on different aspects of what it means to be a wholly devoted disciple of Jesus and why those aspects are vital to winning the battle against sexual sin.  In this first episode, Steve Gallagher discusses where devoted discipleship begins: repentance.   Pure Life Ministries 26th Annual Conference
Timeless Truths: We naturally do not want to put faith into what the Word of God says. One example of that is when Scripture tells us to “give thanks in all circumstances.” Certainly every believer has struggled with some situation that has challenged their belief in that declaration.   We have to learn to live not by what our emotions dictate, but by putting faith in the commands and the promises of Scripture. When we exercise faith, the One who has written those promises will give us the power to obey His commands. And let’s not forget, if you’re listening to this podcast because you struggle with sexual sin, you especially need to learn that lesson. No matter how strongly you feel temptation, you can exercise faith and experience victory through the power of His Spirit!
Timothy was a young man who carried a strong leadership position in the early church. And one of the Apostle Paul’s signature pieces of advice to him was to flee youthful lusts.   Young men in the Church of our day must heed that same advice! But how is that possible in a culture overrun with temptation at every turn?   Part 2 of our Young Men’s Sexual Sin Q&A delves deeper into time-tested Biblical truths to overcome sexual addiction. This week we tackle issues like “How do I get out of a repetitive cycle of sin?” “Is it ok if I lust but don’t act out physically?” “I want to talk to somebody about my struggles, but I feel ashamed,” and more.   Resources we mentioned: Pure Life Ministries Residential Program
Ask the Counselor: How should Christian men fighting for freedom from sexual sin engage with the worldly entertainment that is all around them? Biblical counselors Regan, Josh, and Tyler join us to answer that very question.   Resources we mentioned: #649 - Sexual Sin Q&A: Answers for Young Men (Part 1) (Podcast Episode) By Pure Life Ministries #650 - Sexual Sin Q&A: Answers for Young Men (Part 2) (Podcast Episode) By Pure Life Ministries
2000 years ago, Paul told the Corinthian Christians to RUN from sexual sin because our bodies are meant to be the dwelling place for God’s Spirit! This requires us to stand AGAINST cultural norms and let God’s Word set the standard for our behavior.  This is the first of a two-part episode where our counselors answer questions from young men about purity. In this episode we’ll tackle things like “What’s too far physically in a dating relationship?” “Is co-habitation really a big deal?” “Is sexting a sin,” and more.     Resources we mentioned: 20 Truths that Helped Me in My Battle with Porn Addiction (Book) By Steve Gallagher
In our latest episode, Nate Danser is joined by fellow staff member Josh Bergstrom in the studio to share some exciting news about the future of the show. Plus, Steve Gallagher joins us not as a guest—but as our host! Tune in to hear a behind-the-scenes look at how God is leading the ministry into a new season. You won’t want to miss this heartfelt and hope-filled conversation that marks a major turning point for the Pure Life Ministries Podcast.   Resources we mentioned: The Story of Bob & Lori (Testimony) The Story of Nolan & Kendra (Testimony)
Jesus said that every deed done in secret would eventually be exposed. It’s not a question of if…just a matter of when. That's a frightening thought for those who have done a lot of shameful things in secret. In today’s episode, we’ll talk about the danger of hiding sin, what happens in our souls when we refuse to bring our sins into the light, and the blessing of dealing with our sin in God’s chosen way.   Resources we mentioned: Don't Wait for God to Expose Your Sin (Article) By Patrick Hudson #482 - Do I Have to Confess My Sin? | Ask the Counselor (Podcast Episode) By Pure Life Ministries #483 - Why Does My Wife Need to Know About My Sin? | Ask the Counselor (Podcast Episode) By Pure Life Ministries
