In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive deep into the often daunting topic of visibility, particularly within the context of the Christian life. As someone who has always had a love-hate relationship with being seen, I share my personal journey and the struggles that many of us face when it comes to putting ourselves out there.
I begin by discussing the common fears associated with visibility, including the anticipation stress that can overwhelm us before we even take action. I highlight how our nervous systems can create a predictive narrative that amplifies our anxiety, making it difficult to step into the roles God has called us to.

We start every week with a prayer and today I'm inviting listeners to bring their frustration, grief, and outrage before God instead of carrying it alone. This guided moment of prayer helps you release emotional weight, regain spiritual clarity, and refocus your heart on the Kingdom of God.
If this prayer helped you reset your perspective, share this episode with someone who may be feeling overwhelmed by the weight of the world right now.
We are only weeks into 2026, and the emotional weight of headlines, scandals, tragedies, and cultural conflict already feels overwhelming. In this episode of Wisdom’s Table, Rachel tackles a question many believers are quietly wrestling with: What does God actually expect from us when the world is swept into outrage?
This conversation explores the spiritual dynamics behind outrage culture, the difference between righteous conviction and emotional exhaustion, and how Christians can guard their hearts without becoming disengaged from real problems.
Rachel walks through biblical wisdom from Proverbs, reflects on Jesus flipping tables in the temple, and challenges listeners to discern when to speak, when to act, and when to step back. Instead of being pulled into mob mentality or endless news cycles, believers are invited to focus on advancing the Kingdom of God with clarity, courage, and peace.
If you have felt emotionally drained by headlines, frustrated by leadership failures, or unsure when to use your voice, this episode will help you reset your perspective and refocus your energy on what truly matters.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive deep into the concept of growth and the inherent costs associated with it. Building on our previous discussion about transforming our businesses into platforms for discipleship, I explore why growth—whether spiritual, personal, or professional—requires an exchange of value.
I begin by emphasizing that growth is not just a linear progression; it often involves sacrifices of time, money, or energy. I challenge listeners to reconsider their approach to growth by asking not whether they are willing to pay for it, but rather what the cost of not pursuing growth might be. I share insights from my book, The Money Mandate, discussing how God established a value system that assigns different worth to various things, which ultimately shapes our economy and our lives.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive deep into a topic that has been weighing heavily on my heart: the intersection of business and ministry. As many of you know, there is a growing movement among Christian entrepreneurs who are eager to integrate their faith into their business practices. However, this desire often leads to confusion and conflict about how to balance these two important aspects of life.
I begin by addressing the common struggle many face: the feeling that they must choose between running a successful business and fulfilling their ministry calling. I share my own journey of stepping away from formal pastoring to embrace the business world, driven by a revelation that God is moving powerfully within the marketplace. This shift is not just a personal experience; it reflects a broader revival where businesses are becoming platforms for reaching people for the Kingdom of God.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I am thrilled to share a powerful message that I believe God has placed on my heart for you. As I reflect on the incredible growth and acceleration I've experienced in my life and business over the past few years—thanks to the grace of Jesus—I want to encourage you to embrace a mindset of holy audacity.
I dive deep into the importance of believing in the vision God has given you. I emphasize that no one will champion your dream more than you will, and waiting for external validation is a fool's errand. It's crucial to take ownership of your calling and to steward it with confidence and faithfulness. I remind you that our confidence comes from Jesus, and I challenge you to ask yourself if you truly believe in the assignment God has placed on your life.
Throughout the episode, I discuss the necessity of being ruthlessly audacious in pursuing your God-given dreams. I share practical steps on how to build trust with God, encouraging you to seek His confirmation and to end the wavering mindset that often holds us back. I stress that audacity means not worrying about others' judgments and instead focusing on the impact your obedience can have on those waiting for your "yes."

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I dive into part two of our series on being a peaceful CEO, focusing on the crucial concepts of productivity mapping and time protection. Building on our previous discussion about the tyranny of the urgent, I emphasize that a peaceful, biblically grounded CEO is not passive or disengaged; rather, they are anchored, clear, and equipped to combat chaos.
I begin by addressing the common struggles many CEOs face with time management, highlighting that simply managing time without considering energy management will not lead to true organization. I stress that God is not asking us to do more but to steward our responsibilities better. Sometimes, the solution to feeling overwhelmed is not more hours in the day but more purpose for those hours.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I am thrilled to kick off a two-part series around becoming a peaceful CEO. As business owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders, we often grapple with the relentless pressure to move faster, respond quicker, and carry more responsibilities. I want to remind you that if you feel this pressure, it doesn't mean you're failing; it means you're carrying a weight that comes with leadership. Our goal isn't to eliminate pressure but to learn how to carry it well.
Today, we delve into one of the most significant challenges we face: the tyranny of the urgent. Coined by Charles Hummel in 1967, this concept refers to immediate pressing demands that overshadow our truly important long-term goals. As business owners, we often find ourselves pulled in multiple directions, reacting to urgent matters that may not align with our core objectives. This episode is about learning to lead from a place of peace without losing momentum.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I invite you to join me as I delve into a profound revelation I recently experienced during my time with the Lord. We explore the theme of expansion principles in the Bible, particularly focusing on a powerful passage from Exodus 23:29-30.
I begin by sharing the context of this scripture, where God speaks to the Israelites about their journey into the Promised Land, a land filled with challenges but also abundant blessings. God reassures them that He will not drive out their enemies all at once, but rather little by little, to ensure that they are strong enough to take possession of the land without it becoming desolate or overrun by wild animals. This concept of gradual expansion resonates deeply with our modern-day struggles, as we often find ourselves fixated on immediate goals and quick results.

In this episode of Wisdom's Table, I, Rachel Wortman, delve into a topic that quietly exhausts many of us in the realms of business, leadership, and ministry: the obsession with numbers. We often find ourselves fixated on revenue goals, follower counts, and growth metrics, which, while not inherently evil, can distract us from the life in Christ we are called to live.
As I reflect on my own experiences, I share how I’ve noticed a troubling trend where we replace the concept of fruit-bearing with numerical figures. Instead of asking ourselves who we are becoming, we become preoccupied with what we are producing. This episode marks a pivotal moment for me as I celebrate reaching 20,000 downloads of the podcast, thanks to all of you who have supported and shared it.
