Do you know a farmer? If you said no, well, here's your chance...get to know Danny Dunlap from Bluebird Sky Farm in Boulder County, Colorado while he and I hike in the Heil Valley Ranch Open Space.
Years ago most people knew where they got their food from. Nowadays that doesn't seem to be the case. Maybe that is because less than 2% of the US population are farmers. I really wanted to learn more about regenerative farming, our food culture and what we all can do to make small differences in our own lives when it comes to food choices. I also wanted to know more about Danny's "why"...why he chose the hard life of a farmer.

In this episode I was joined by Shelby Farrell as we slowly hiked in one of the coolest places in Colorado Springs, the old Cave of The Winds Exit. I enjoyed this hike so much. Shelby is fun, she's smart and REAL. On the hike I learned more about where she came from, what was important to her and her family growing up... How she met her husband, Jason and future goals in life and in trail running. She talks about her FKT attempt on the Long Trail and future FKTs she would like to go after.
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. Shelby is great!

This episode was special because Annie is not only an amazing athlete but a beautiful human! I hope you enjoy our hike in her new hometown of BV, Colorado. This was Annie's first hike after having surgery and we had a lot to catch up on. Sorry to say that a lot of the really good conversation happened off camera but that was between friends. I still think you'll enjoy our hike and chat!
Wow, this one took some time. I had such a great hike with David from Sound Epistemology, learning about different ways people can discuss difficult topics. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Please give David's YouTube channel a follow and let him know if you enjoyed this episode.

For my birthday I decided to do something a little different...hike up The Incline (twice) and talk to people who made it to the top. I wanted to find out what their motivation or "why" was for doing such a challenging hike. Hope you enjoy this slightly different format.
Join me as I hike with Sam Wood, a Physical Therapist in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Sam is a certified Bada$$. Join me in Red Rock Canyon Open Space as I get to know Diarra Cropper a little better. We talk about being new to the sport of trail and ultra running, trail culture and growing up in Illinois. I have to mention that unfortunately we lost Diarra's audio just as we were finishing our run/hike so forgive me for this rookie mistake!
