But they should never replace the gift giver. In our day, many within Christendom are solely concerned with the importance of mankind’s redemption. While this is a key aspect in the Biblical narrative; it is not the main focus. Ultimately, as Christians, our aim and desire should be living our lives to the Glory of God. The scriptures are a deposit of all truth, gifted to us by the Lord himself. How should we view "good works" in Christian life? Do they grant any merit before God? Isaiah 64:6 reminds us, "all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment." Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." The statement "Sola Fide" reminds us that faith alone, by the means of Christ's atonement on the cross, is what justifies and puts us in right standing with God. While this faith is not fully seen, one day it will be made sight, when we see Jesus face to face.
