Hebrews‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭(ESV‬‬) - speaking of Christ, the scripture reminds us; “You made him for a little while lower than the angels; you have crowned him with glory and honor, putting everything in subjection under his feet.” Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, we do not yet see everything in subjection to him.”Looking to the finished work on the cross, Jesus has accomplished our redemption, all the while, we wait for the culmination of his kingdom, at the end of the age.  Today we examine and attempt to answer the larger question; ‘In what does Christ’s exaltation consist?’.Scripture:John 13: 8, John 13: 15-17, 2 Corinthians 4: 17, Hebrews 12: 1-3, 1 Corinthians 15: 3-8, John 17: 1-5, Acts 17: 30-31PBHB GIVEAWAY: https://www.stayreformed.com/giveawayAdditional References:Buy A Puritan Catechism: https://a.co/d/esRURdtRead A Puritan Catechism: https://www.chapellibrary.org/pdf/books/cwpr.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOop_iUZJzFz_3HbHFqJUqPMbSUhhfZUx9FY_-KuyKA9_kwqb8Kh6McGraw Tabletalk Article: https://tabletalkmagazine.com/posts/how-is-christ-exalted-in-his-resurrection-and-ascension/The Second London Baptist Confession (1689): https://founders.org/library-book/1689-confession/https://www.chapellibrary.org/pdf/books/lbcw.pdf?srsltid=AfmBOorAi1b6iCPqv94DjBcMhSSpcDOGwJrb9hXJSlgqxrFSgo9ofc0-Social Media:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StayReformedTwitter/X: https://twitter.com/stayreformedInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/stayreformed/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stayreformedpodcast/Website: https://www.stayreformed.com/Email: contact@stayreformed.com

We recently had the privilege of interviewing Jac Marino Chen, on her journey out of the deception of the new age, into the truth of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. “No Creed but the Bible” - a statement that has often been promoted, but rarely thought through. While every Christian should believe the Bible is sufficient and inerrant; we must define exactly what it is we believe ‘about’ the Bible. In light of this, on today’s episode, we make the case for robust ‘Confessionalism’, as a component in the Christian Life. We hope you are encouraged by today’s episode to contend for sound doctrine. Today, we examine one of the three tenets of what it means to be, “Reformed”; by presenting more information regarding the “The Doctrines of Grace”. While we have spoke on this subject before, our aim is to set the table for a more broad discussion on the sovereignty of God as a whole. We hope this conversation blesses you. On today’s episode, we take another look at the controversial movement, known as, the “New Apostolic Reformation”. We enlist the help of authors; Holly Pivec and R. Douglas Geivett, to examine the evidence and determine; is the “NAR” compatible with Biblical Christianity, or is it a “Counterfeit Kingdom”. In theological terms, many have made the category error of assuming the term, “Calvinism” and “Reformed Theology”, are interchangeable. While the Doctrines of Grace is an aspect of the Reformed Faith, it is simply the beginning of the conversation. Today, we go beyond the “Five Points”, and ask the question; “Are you even Reformed, Bro?”. The pastor and theologian, Voddie Baucham, once observed, “I’m not saying it’s bad to have things, it’s bad when things have you.” Possessions are gifts, and can ultimately be used to the glory of God. But they should never replace the gift giver. As we live in this temporal world, we pray that this message would be true of us, as well as you, our listeners; that the Lord would be the sole recipient of our worship. In our day, many within Christendom are solely concerned with the importance of mankind’s redemption. While this is a key aspect in the Biblical narrative; it is not the main focus. Ultimately, as Christians, our aim and desire should be living our lives to the Glory of God. May this episode serve as an encouragement, that our pursuit every moment of every day, is for God’s glory alone. The scriptures are a deposit of all truth, gifted to us by the Lord himself. We are reminded in Ephesians 2:20-21 (ESV), that the testimony of God is “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.” ‭‭ May you be encouraged in today’s discussion, to trust all that the Lord has said, and find refreshment in the revealed word of God. The ‘Anti-Christ’, sometimes referred to as the ‘man of lawlessness’, in scripture; is often misunderstood or misidentified when discussing eschatology. Making terms more obscure, Puritan-era Confessions of Faith refer to the Pope, as the “Anti-Christ”. Today, we seek to unravel the context of that statement, and hope to answer the question - “Is the Pope the Anti-Christ?”. The heart of the Gospel, is Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Without His mercy, we would still be dead in our sins. “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬) In today’s episode, we reflect on what Jesus has accomplished on our behalf. How should we view "good works" in Christian life? Do they grant any merit before God? Isaiah 64:6 reminds us, "all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment." Today Bobby and Garrett hope to provide clarity; that we are saved by Grace through Faith. The works we demonstrate are simply a byproduct of a regenerate heart. Our Lord tells us, "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher." (Luke 6:40) While many of us understand this intellectually, as Christians, we are often crippled by fear on how to best instruct others in the Christian life. In this episode, Bobby and Garrett provide some practical advice to that end. Episode 28: Sola Fide

2024-08-1931:55

Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." The statement "Sola Fide" reminds us that faith alone, by the means of Christ's atonement on the cross, is what justifies and puts us in right standing with God. While this faith is not fully seen, one day it will be made sight, when we see Jesus face to face.
