From among abu taubah's teachers is the late Shaykh Muhammad Saalim ash-ShinQeeTi, the famous Imaam of Usool ul fiQh and tafseer; He also studied under Shaykh abu Bakr Djob alFulaani, and Shaykh Muhammad Ould-‘Eid ShinQeeTi both, while in Mauritania. He is also a long time student of Shaykh Muhammad FaarooQ And was taught the science of hadeeth by Shaykh Abdul-Mawjood of Egypt, a senior student of Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadee al-Wadi'ee. He is a HaafiDz of Qur-aan in all Ten Qiraa'at. And he specializes in Usoolul-FiQh, and tafseer.
