We'll learn about what's happening in the World of Marketing and also take a look at why this is happening, and most importantly for us marketers, what the heck does that mean for us and what do we do with this information? Trends, new tools, changing behaviour, conflicting opinions, and so many other factors to balance (you get it)—we're going to talk about it all, and have fun and make friends along the way.

When you think of remote work, most people probably picture working from exotic locations or at your favourite cafe. Visiting the beach after work, a picturesque hike at lunch, or making friends with your friendly neighbourhood barista. But what about the other possible realities of remote work—isolation, loneliness and burnout? Don’t get me wrong—I’m a remote work advocate. I love the freedom and balance that a remote work lifestyle can bring. But also, let’s be real. It’s not always beaches and cool, friendly baristas that remember your order. In this episode of The Super Fun Marketing Podcast, I talk about some of the realities of working remotely—the good and the bad. And talk about one of the harsh truths—it can be harder to make new friends. But! It's still possible to make new friends! And I'm going to talk about it in this episode! There's a new trend that's sweeping Instagram Reels & flooding TikTok For You pages: the Faceless Marketers, Influencers & Content Creators. Their content looks very aesthetic with clean girl aesthetic images and videos and they're promoting how they can teach you how to monetize being a faceless influencer. But there's something more sinister happening behind this trend. And it's not what it seems at face value (or faceless lol). Find out what's really going on in the dark world of the faceless marketing trend. Links mentioned in the podcast: - MASTER RESELL RIGHTS EXPLAINED | Watch this before you start! Turns out, the way people are shopping and researching and showing brand loyalty has changed, and that's huge for us marketers. Have a listen and find out what this means for us and how should we reach our customers now? And also, why are there so many different types of funnels?? The vibes are off. That's just a fact! Have you heard of the vibecession? Well, you're about to! Things have been feeling bad for a lot of people, and we don't have to resort to fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) in marketing to prompt action when things are bad. In fact, FUD can actually be more harmful in the long run and doesn't actually align with the fact that we're in the Relationship Marketing Era where trust and authenticity are important values for our customers. Find out how you can combat FUD as a marketer and the tips and tricks you can implement to have success with positive messaging. Social media is dead. Email is dead. Cold calling is dead. People love to be saying that things are dead—when they’re not. Social media is definitely not dead. But it’s definitely evolving. It’s having a transformation moment. The way people are using it is changing, and that’s having an impact for both B2B and B2C brands. Social media has been a part of our lives for almost two decades—it’s growing up, it’s about to leave home. From Myspace to Facebook and Instagram, BeReal and everything in between (can’t forget LinkedIn!). In this episode of The Super Fun Marketing Podcast, I’m going to talk about what on earth is going on with social media changes and what it means for us marketers. Ps here’s a hint, it’s related to crabs (the crustacean).
Short-form video! Wait! Don’t roll your eyes! I know this is a topic that we’ve been talking about for a few years, but seriously, how many B2B brands are doing it well? There’s so much opportunity out there for B2B marketers to start incorporating short-form video into their marketing strategy—there’s ROI to be made! And the good news is, you don’t have to break out your best viral dance moves (I mean you could if you wanted to) but there’s much more to short-form video than just the latest trending video. Okay, but what does that actually mean? Have no fear! I have 15 super practical tips to help you get started with short-form video, whether you want to get started on TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts (and I promise, dancing isn’t on there). We’ll cover all this and more in this episode of The Super Fun Marketing Podcast!
What’s trending! Let’s dive in and take a look at 7 marketing trend predictions for 2024 and what it means for marketers. In this episode of The Super Fun Marketing podcast, I'm going to share my beliefs on why understanding trends is important for marketers. A trend isn’t necessarily something new, but it’s something that’s gaining popularity, or being talked about, or something to watch out for. In this episode, dive into 7 of the trending trends and see what’s going on? Why are these trending and what is the reason behind it? Plus, what does this mean for marketers? Are there some must-haves you need to incorporate into your marketing plan for the year so you don’t get left behind, or which things should you look at adding to your marketing mix in 2024? We’ll cover all that and more in this episode of The Super Fun Marketing Podcast!
To understand where we are and where we’re going in marketing, it helps to also see where we’ve come from and where it all began! In the first episode of The Super Fun Marketing podcast, I, your host Victoria Sweeney, explore how marketing practice has evolved over millennia, from Pompeii to the super digital marketing world of today. Taking a look at some of the key moments that have defined different marketing eras and how we’ve gone from production-focused marketing and sales to the relationship marketing era of the 1990s and today helps to understand what some of the underlying drivers are of this evolution, to see where we are heading and get ahead of the trends! Plus, find out which marketing era I think we’re in and what this means for creating successful marketing strategies that will help you to create stronger connections with customers now!
