Do you deal with crippling fear & doubt that can invade your mind at any given moment and weighs you down mentally? Do you find yourself struggling with your self-worth and confidence when it comes to putting yourself first? Have you wrestled with the desire to grow deeper in relationship with God and see His plan for your life come to fruition, but you are still a little scared?

There is a way to step out of the constant self-sabotage, gain control of your life and give yourself permission to live out the vision that God has for you!

Hey, I’m Joy Johnson. Your new bestie, coach, mentor and sister in Christ that cannot wait to speak life into you and activate you to take action in the life that you have been so blessed with.

I remember the days where I was hiding behind the very things that were robbing me of all of my time and energy. I was crippled by fear of failure, the opinions of others and lacked major boundaries. I was operating in a lack mentality in my motherhood, overcommitted to things that weren’t fully serving me and not letting my husband in on my mind battles. Not to mention allowing my relationship with God to be on the back burner because hello- there was no time for that. That was a recipe for disaster that quickly led to burn out and frustration.

It wasn’t until I realized that I was absolutely not alone, and so many other women were struggling with the same things that I began to be honest with myself. I have since been able to apply a framework in structuring my life that has changed everything for the better.

Through this podcast I will share with you HOW to:

• Discover, design & develop a vision the vision God has for you
• Simplify your daily systems to bring transformation in your mental, emotional & physical health
• Embrace the power of consistency and release the perfectionistic mindset once and for all
• Heal from your past and not let it hinder your future
• Find joy in your Journey to Becoming all that God has created you to be

I am honored to be on this journey alongside you, grab your amazingly oversized water bottle & let’s live out our God dreams, together!

In this powerful episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, Joy sits down with Kari Davis to share her deeply moving story of faith, grief, healing, and restoration. Kari’s life changed suddenly when her husband suffered a devastating brain hemorrhage, leaving her widowed with three young children. In the midst of overwhelming grief, uncertainty, and heartbreak, Kari had to navigate not only the pain of loss but the responsibility of leading her family forward. Yet through that painful season, God began reminding her of something she never expected — that she was still allowed to dream again. Today, Kari shares how God walked with her through the process of doing the necessary “soul work” to heal her mind, will, and emotions. Through intentional healing, faith, and surrender, Kari experienced profound restoration. She is now remarried and part of a beautiful blended family, living proof that God truly does bring beauty from ashes. Kari now has a heart for encouraging women who have experienced grief, heartbreak, or loss to lean into the healing process and trust that God is still writing their story. ✨ In this episode, we talk about: • Navigating the sudden loss of a spouse • Processing grief while raising young children • The importance of doing the deep soul work required for healing • Learning to dream again after devastating loss • How God restores broken places and creates beauty from ashes • Finding hope and purpose after grief If you’ve experienced loss, heartbreak, or a season that changed your life unexpectedly, this conversation will remind you that healing is possible and restoration is part of God’s story for you. Your pain is not the end of your story. God is still writing something beautiful. How can joy and suffering exist at the same time? And what does it look like to continue living fully for God after experiencing deep loss? In this powerful episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, Joy sits down with speaker, author, and ministry leader Kirby Kelly to talk about grief, hope, and the redemptive way God weaves our stories together. Kirby shares insights from her book The Fabric of Hope, where she paints the beautiful picture of God restitching the broken pieces of our lives like a tapestry. Through honest conversation, Joy and Kirby explore why our scars and stories don’t have to be hidden to be redeemed—and how God can transform pain into purpose. Together they discuss the reality of losing loved ones at different stages of life, processing grief with faith, and choosing to honor the legacy of those we’ve lost by continuing to live boldly for God. Rather than allowing grief to keep us stagnant, this conversation reminds us that healing can lead to breaking generational strongholds and stepping into the calling God has for our lives. Kirby Kelly is a speaker, author, podcast host, and content creator based in Dallas, Texas who has spent over a decade using digital platforms to equip and encourage a global audience with the truth of the Gospel. With degrees in Communication, Biblical Studies, and Theology, she blends theological depth with cultural relevance through her podcast Bought + Beloved, social media platforms, and books including You Can Be Free and The Fabric of Hope. Her heart is to see this generation live saved, set free, and sent into their God-given calling. ✨ In this episode, you’ll discover: • How joy and suffering can coexist in the Christian life • Why God doesn’t waste our pain but redeems our stories • How to process grief after losing a loved one • The importance of honoring legacy by continuing to live fully for God • How healing can help break generational patterns and strongholds If you’ve ever wrestled with grief, questioned God in a difficult season, or wondered how to move forward with hope after loss, this conversation will encourage you deeply. 🎧 Tune in to be reminded that God is still weaving hope into your story—even in the places that feel broken. Are you already tempted to quit on the goals and dreams you were so excited about in January? By March, motivation fades. Discipline feels heavy. The vision doesn’t feel as shiny anymore. In this episode of The Journey to Becoming, I share a powerful story from when my husband played minor league baseball and what it meant to be “called up” to the next level. Players weren’t called up randomly. They were called up because someone saw the potential in them. They had demonstrated growth. They had proven they were ready for more. And as believers, we are called to a higher standard too. The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” That is not a passive invitation — it is a call to spiritual maturity, discipline, and stewardship. In this episode, we talk about: Why so many people quit by March The difference between goals and standards What it truly means to be “called higher” as a Christian woman Raising your discipline, integrity, and emotional maturity Why excellence isn’t about ego — it’s about bringing glory to God Calling you higher doesn’t mean hustle culture or burnout. It means obedience. It means stewardship. It means refusing to settle for mediocrity in the areas God has entrusted to you. There is potential inside of you. The question is — will you rise to meet it? This episode is your March reset. If you’re ready to stop shrinking back and start stewarding your life for God’s glory, this conversation will challenge and encourage you. In this special episode, we’re celebrating 2 years of The Journey to Becoming podcast. 🤍 Thank you for showing up for yourself every week, applying what you’re learning, and sharing this show with the women in your life who need encouragement and truth. This community would not be what it is without you. After celebrating, we dive into a powerful conversation about clarity. Have you ever said, “I just need clarity” before taking action? What if you’re treating clarity like your morning coffee — believing nothing can happen until you have it? In this episode, we talk about: Why God rarely gives the full plan How clarity is usually about the next step, not the whole picture The ways we create our own confusion by waiting for certainty How obedience reveals direction And how to identify what God is already asking of you Scripture tells us that God’s Word is a lamp unto our feet — not a spotlight for our entire future. If you’ve been waiting for total clarity before moving forward, this episode will challenge and encourage you to trust God with the light you’ve already been given. You don’t need the full blueprint. You need the courage to take the next step. If this episode blesses you, share it with a friend and continue walking this journey with us. Do you ever feel busy all day… but still behind? In this episode, I’m sharing 3 simple time management hacks that are helping me get my time back — and let me just say, I am not a Type A personality. I’m more creative, go-with-the-flow… maybe even Type C if that’s a thing. 😅 This isn’t about becoming more intense, more rigid, or more like someone else. It’s about knowing yourself, leading yourself, and being intentional with the time God has given you. We’ll talk about: How to focus on what actually matters instead of doing “all the things” Why pre-planning your week eliminates decision fatigue How to identify and collapse energy leaks that are stealing your time And how to feel accomplished at the end of your day without burning out If you’re a woman who feels stretched thin, overwhelmed, or tired of living in catch-up mode, this episode will give you simple, practical shifts to help you move forward with clarity and peace. You don’t need more hours in your day. You need more intention with the ones you already have. Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things, yet you still feel stuck, unmotivated, or like your momentum has quietly stalled? In this episode of The Journey to Becoming, we’re talking about three hidden, often overlooked things that are killing your momentum and keeping you from stepping fully into the life and purpose God has for you. These aren’t obvious sins or loud distractions. They’re subtle patterns—ways of thinking and living that feel normal, even responsible—but slowly keep us from growing, moving forward, and trusting God with our next step. In this episode, we unpack: • Isolation disguised as independence: when self-reliance replaces community and we stop allowing others to support, challenge, and walk with us • Waiting for the “perfect moment” to celebrate: delaying joy, gratitude, and reflection because we believe we’re not “there yet” • Comparing ourselves to a past version of who we used to be: letting yesterday’s capacity, seasons, or expectations define what we believe is possible today Momentum isn’t just about productivity—it’s about alignment. When these unseen habits take root, they quietly steal clarity, confidence, and obedience. We may want to move forward, but we’re still living anchored to the past or waiting for conditions that may never be perfect. Here’s the truth: God is not speaking to you from where you’ve been, He is always calling you from where you’re going. He speaks from your future, inviting you to grow, stretch, trust, and become. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why your motivation feels off, this episode will help you identify what’s really going on beneath the surface and invite God into the process of moving forward with intention, faith, and renewed momentum. ✨ This is your reminder that you don’t have to stay where you are. You were created to move forward and God is already there, waiting for you. Why does money bring up so much fear, stress, or overwhelm, even when we’re doing “all the right things”? In this powerful and eye-opening episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, I’m joined by Brigid Tebaldi, a Nervous System + Identity Coach, to explore the deeper connection between your nervous system and your money story. So often, budgeting, saving, or managing finances triggers anxiety, fear, shame, or avoidance. Instead of just addressing the behavior and trying to force better habits, Brigid invites us to slow down and get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface. We talk about how your relationship with money may be rooted in early childhood experiences, learned patterns, and moments where your body learned whether money felt safe or threatening. When we begin to understand these connections, true healing  and real financial freedom becomes possible. 💡 In this episode, you’ll learn: Why money stress is often a nervous system response How childhood experiences shape your financial habits today Why behavior modification alone doesn’t lead to lasting change How curiosity, compassion, and regulation can bring freedom around finances If budgeting makes you feel tense, finances trigger fear, or money conversations feel overwhelming, this episode will help you see your story through a new lens, one rooted in healing, awareness, and freedom rather than shame. ✨ This conversation is an invitation to stop fighting yourself and start understanding yourself so you can experience peace, safety, and confidence in this area of your life. Parenting doesn’t suddenly get easier as kids grow — it just changes. In this honest and practical episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, I’m joined by Nellie Harden, wife, mom of four daughters (ages 16–20), author, and speaker in family life and leadership, to talk all about what she calls “the great transition” — parenting in the middle years. We dive into the real-life challenges and opportunities that come with raising teens and young adults, from setting healthy phone boundaries to understanding different learning styles, meeting your children where they are, and creating meaningful one-on-one time with each child. Nellie also shares powerful tools for staying calm when you’re overstimulated, emotionally taxed, or tempted to react instead of respond. This conversation is a much-needed reminder that leadership in the home matters — especially in seasons of discipline, tension, and growth. Nellie encourages moms to lead by example, model emotional regulation, and create an environment where connection and character development can flourish. If you’re a mom navigating the in-between — no longer in the little years, but not quite on the other side — this episode will leave you feeling encouraged, equipped, and reminded that you’re not alone in this season. ✨ In this episode, we talk about: Parenting teens and young adults with wisdom and confidence Setting boundaries with phones and technology Understanding learning styles and meeting your kids where they are Creating intentional one-on-one time Staying calm when you feel overstimulated Leading by example in discipline and character 🎧 Tune in for encouragement, practical parenting wisdom, and a fresh perspective on raising the next generation well — even in the middle. At the start of a new year, the noise of diet culture, quick fixes, and restrictive health trends is louder than ever. But what if true healing doesn’t start with another diet…it starts at the cellular level? In this eye-opening episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, I’m joined by Cynthia from Rooted Wellness, a live blood analyst who is helping women uncover the root causes of their health challenges and begin healing from the inside out. Instead of chasing symptoms, Cynthia looks directly at what’s happening inside the body by analyzing live blood — offering insight, clarity, and a personalized approach to wellness. Visiting Cynthia was truly a life-changing experience for me, and I cannot recommend her work enough. This conversation pulls back the curtain on what our blood can reveal about inflammation, deficiencies, gut health, stress, and overall vitality — and why so many women stay stuck when they only treat symptoms instead of causes. 💡 In this episode, we talk about: What live blood analysis is and how it works How looking at health from a cellular level changes everything Healing the body from the inside out instead of chasing quick fixes What to consider if you’re ready to make real, lasting changes in your health this year If you’re tired of starting over every January, overwhelmed by health advice, or ready to finally understand what your body is trying to tell you — this episode will give you a fresh, empowering perspective. ✨ If you’re ready to make this the year you stop guessing and start healing, this conversation is for you. As 2025 comes to a close, it’s easy to fall into comparison, regret, or the pressure of feeling like you didn’t do enough. In this final episode of the year, we’re talking about reflection—not rumination. This episode is an invitation to look back with grace, not judgment, and to move forward with faith, peace, and confidence in God’s timing. Drawing from Philippians 3:13–14, we explore what it means to press on toward the upward call of Christ Jesus—not by striving, but by trusting God with what has been planted, pruned, and grown in you this year. You may not be where you want to be, but you are not where you used to be—and God is not finished with you yet. In this episode, you’ll learn: The difference between healthy reflection and harmful rumination How to guard your mind against intrusive thoughts at the end of the year Why God measures obedience, not outcomes How to end 2025 with a clean heart and clear vision Why you’re not starting over—you’re going deeper I’m also inviting you to join my free 5-day Becoming a Woman of Value Challenge, designed to help you release striving, reset your identity in Christ, and step into the new year grounded in peace and purpose. What do you do when you’re standing in the middle, the space between God’s promise and its fulfillment? When answers feel delayed, emotions feel loud, and uncertainty tries to speak louder than faith? In this episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, we dive into what it truly means to trust God in the middle and why the words we speak matter more than we often realize. As believers, we always have a choice: we can agree with fear, circumstances, and opinions or we can declare the Word of God over our lives and situations. God’s Word is not just encouragement it is truth, and it always stands above feelings, culture, and human opinion. This episode will encourage you to anchor your faith in Scripture, speak life in uncertain seasons, and trust that God is working even when you can’t yet see the outcome. Together, we reflect on powerful verses that remind us where our trust belongs. If you’re in a season of waiting, believing, or learning to silence the noise around you, this conversation will help you recenter your heart on God’s promises and remind you that what God says will always outweigh what the world thinks. ✨ Because when we speak His Word, we align ourselves with truth — and truth always leads us forward. Today we’re kicking off a brand-new mini-series all about trusting God in the middle — those in-between seasons where the promise hasn’t fully come to pass, the prayers feel long, and yet we choose to believe anyway. In this heartfelt conversation, I’m joined by my dear friend Cheyanne, who vulnerably opens up about her ongoing journey of believing for her husband’s salvation. Her story is raw, real, and such a powerful reminder that faith isn’t just about celebrating the finish line — it’s about trusting God deeply in the process. The enemy loves to whisper lies that God isn’t faithful… that He’s silent, delayed, or uninterested in the details of our lives. But this episode pushes back against every single lie and points us back to the truth: God sees, God hears, and God moves… even when we can’t yet see the full picture. Though Cheyanne is still very much in “the middle,” her story shines with unwavering trust, holy confidence, and a peace that truly surpasses understanding. She shares how her faith has shaped her, refined her, and anchored her heart through the ups and downs. Her testimony is a beautiful reminder that even in seasons of waiting, God is writing a story far greater than we can imagine — and His promises are still yes and amen. If you’re in your own “middle” season, this conversation will breathe hope, encouragement, and renewed faith into your journey. You’re not alone, and God is not done. As the year winds down and the holidays roll in, it’s so easy to lose momentum. Maybe you started strong this year - focused, intentional, full of faith…but somewhere along the way, life got busy. The calendar filled up, routines slipped, and now you’re tempted to say, “I’ll just start fresh in the new year.” But what if you didn’t have to wait for January 1st to get back on track? In this episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, we unpack 3 powerful keys to building consistency in your faith, habits, and daily life…especially when everything feels chaotic or out of rhythm. Remember, that consistency isn’t about perfection…it’s about progress. It’s showing up with what you have, trusting that God can multiply your small steps into something extraordinary. You’ll learn how to: 1️⃣ Forecast wisely - take an honest inventory of your current commitments, understand what this season actually requires of you, and plan from your present reality - not a past version of yourself. 2️⃣ Identify the true voice of consistency - the one that sounds like an encourager, a “sis” cheering you on and reminding you of your why, not the voice of perfection that criticizes every mistake. 3️⃣ Recenter your perspective with God’s truth - because as Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” If you’ve been feeling inconsistent, distracted, or ready to hit the reset button, this episode will encourage you to redefine what consistency looks like and remind you that God honors your obedience - not your perfection. ✨ Because consistency isn’t about doing everything right - it’s about showing up, trusting God with the process, and believing that He’s still working, even in the middle. Ladies… it’s time to have the talk — the hormone talk! 😅 In this week’s episode of The Journey to Becoming Podcast, I’m sitting down with the amazing Monica Topete, women’s hormonal health coach and host of “Are You There Midlife? It’s Me, Monica.” We’re getting real about all things hormones — from what’s really happening to your body in perimenopause and menopause, to the foods that can help (and the ones that can make things worse 🙈). Monica breaks down everything you’ve been wondering but haven’t gotten clear answers to — energy, mood swings, sleep, hot flashes, and more. This conversation is honest, refreshing, and full of laughs — because let’s face it, midlife doesn’t have to feel like mayhem! You’ll walk away feeling seen, equipped, and reminded that you are absolutely not alone in this season. ✨ So grab your coffee (or green smoothie), lean in, and let’s talk about how to care for your body — with grace, wisdom, and maybe a few giggles along the way. 🎧 Tune in to this episode now and be sure to check out Monica’s podcast “Are You There Midlife?
