Hello and welcome back to Gravel Kings! Labor Day in the rearview mirror means summer is drawing to a close. So late season races are fast and furious -- Ted was at Gravel Worlds and donned his road attire for Green Mountain Stage Race. Laura got to try her hand at Vermont Overland and came away with nothing but smiles. Stu had an, umm... interesting go at Fistful of Dirt in Wyoming, but he came away lighter AND with a trip to the podium!

Buckle in for our longest show yet, as we're celebrating UNBOUND, the XL, and (mostly) all things Emporia, Kansas.
UNBOUND is the grand daddy of gravel racing so with racing in the Flint Hill now a thing of the past in 2025, the first half of the season has come to a close. But that just opens up a chance to analyze every detail of the race. From the heat to the competition, the wicked international line up, how badly the heat crippled Laura, Ted's go at the XL, and how it all fits together.
Visit madbushfalls.com/gravel-kings-weekend as there are still spots to join us June 20-22!
You can watch the whole Hall of Fame ceremony including Ted's speech at THIS website.

It was hot and humid in Texas and now we're in cold and dank Kansas for Unbound. Was all that heat training a waste of time?! What happens when you invest so much and then get hit by a truck, like Dylan Johnson did after logging 100 hours of training the past three weeks for Unbound? Gosh, this plus so much more in this riveting episode of Gravel Kings.

Welcome to another good'n!
In this episode we talk aesthetics, do you race to win at all costs... or should you eschew from time trial helmets in road (gravel) races? How about gravel gearing in road races, is a 200lb racer up for the win in a UCI road race?
We've got that, plus loads of great listener questions on today's episode. Thanks for tuning in!

We're back with more intel on Ted's recent Race Around Rwanda. Stu and Laura pepper Ted with great questions submitted by the audience, this time around targeting the finale of the race, plus all the tech and gear questions that came in.
Stu's "Pick Three" is very time appropriate and the gang puts together their best ultra-playlist.
And to catch up on all the coverage of the race, Ted's compiled that into a blog which you can find here: www.iamtedking.com/blog/race-around-rwanda

Here we go with episode 20! Lots to discuss on the start of a new year beginning with resolution. If Dry'uary is one of yours, here's a solid conversation starter. Next we'll play a new game called Pick Three, we get into the wear and tear or carbon bikes and if that's a thing, why there's an unwritten rule of bibs over shorts, and what's it like to ride lonely through these desolate winter months.
Per the conversation about Dry'uary, if you're interested in trying WHOOP, use Ted's code join.whoop.com/ted for a free WHOOP band and free first month!
We often talk about how awesome Cochrans Ski Area is. This Boston Globe article explains why it's not just another ski resort! https://www.bostonglobe.com/2025/01/07/magazine/cochrans-ski-area-beating-odds/

The holidays are upon us here in Thanksgiving week and the team catches up on all kinds of timely discussions. Strava has changed their API usage, which presents lots of challenges for seemingly every cycling app on the planet! There are changes at USACycling with a move for gravel nationals. This has been in Nebraska and they're moving to the Driftless region of Minnesota. We'll talk about what goes into the creation of an annual gravel calendar, plus lots more.
