In this episode, Tegan chats with Holly Kane about her research into regenerative wool farming in South Africa. Regenerative agriculture is an evolution of conventional agriculture, reducing the use of water and other sources, and preventing land degradation and deforestation. Practically, it typically protects and improves soil, biodiversity, climate resilience and water resources. But there’s a lot more to it. Read more about Holly’s research here, and follow her Instagram. I also introduce my newsletter/Substack, Haute & Bothered, by Tegan where I focus on climate change and fashion. Check that out if it interests you!
In this episode Tegan dives into shark lore, with marine biologist Hannah Snyman. They explore the story around the orca shark attacks, the controversy around chumming, what it's like to work on the shark diving boats and more general shark conservation science.
If you want to support our ocean and shark population health, make sure to eat fish on the SASSI green list https://wwfsassi.co.za/sassi-list/.

This week Tegan chats with environmental scientist and content creator, Dana (@danakzhh) about being a woman in stem, doing environmental research, her experience in microplastics science and of course, sustainable fashion.
A bonus episode of some yapping about pop culture where Tegan shares some of her favourite new girly pop music (music is SO back), and talks about Coachella (did you know it was cool again?). Tegan then goes into the idea of "micro-feminism" which has recently gained traction on TikTok. Find out what micro-feminism is and what Tegan's favourite micro-feminisms are in this episode.
So often we focus on the bad, and forget to talk about the good when it comes to the fashion industry. There are many organisations putting in the hard work to do good, so today Tegan dives into this, particularly into Fashion Revolution. Safiyya Karim, one of South Africa’s country coordinators for Fashion Revolution, shines some light on the organisation’s movement and the upcoming Fashion Revolution Week. They share how you can get involved, and encourage women to go for what they want out of life.
