When is the right time to join finances with your partner? How soon should you talk about money? And do you even need to combine finances at all?Well… it depends. In this episode, Tash is joined by Larissa to chat about how she manages her finances with her partner, and the conversations, money mindset, and shared goals behind it all. Together, they break down the different ways they each structure their finances with their partner and talk through when it might make sense to fully combine finances, keep things completely separate, or choose something in between. They also explore why fairness matters, emotional safety, and why having honest money conversations early on is so important. From being aligned on goals and money mindset to choosing a setup that actually feels comfortable for you, this episode is all about finding an approach that fits, whether that is separate accounts, shared expenses, or going all in together.@life.with.larissa@tashinvests@anakresina@getrichslowclub@pearlerhqGet Rich Slow ClubPearlerYouTubeHow To Not Work ForeverDisclaimerAny advice is general and does not consider your financial situation needs, or objectives, so consider whether it’s appropriate for you. Today, Tash is back with part two of our conversation with Lacey Filipich, turning the focus to what we can actually do about climate risk.Lacey explains why relying on fossil fuel companies to change is unlikely, and why removing financial support can be far more effective. We talk through how to check where your money is invested and why avoiding a small group of major producers can make a real difference. She also shares the one action you can take that has a much bigger impact than most lifestyle changes, even though it is rarely talked about.Once you know what to look for, taking action can be surprisingly quick and far less overwhelming than it sounds!Articles mentioned by Lacy:Find out more about your home’s resilience needsReport predicting up to 50% contraction of GDP by 2070 to 2090Report by Australian Ethical exploring high impact ways to lower your carbon footprintResources:Find out if your bank invests in fossil fuels (Australia)Find out which banks invest in fossil fuels (Internationally)Find out more about your home’s resilience needsInteractive causal diagram (see what needs to happen to get warming below 1.5 degrees)Sign up to Pearler in January for a year of free brokerage 💸@tashinvests@anakresina@getrichslowclub@pearlerhqGet Rich Slow ClubPearlerYouTubeHow To Not Work ForeverDisclaimerAny advice is general and does not consider your financial situation needs, or objectives, so consider whether it’s appropriate for you. This week, we’re joined by Lacey Filipich, a former mining engineer turned financial educator, for a conversation that feels increasingly hard to ignore: climate risk and what it means for the future of property and insurance. Some recent predictions suggest that by 2035, one in ten properties could become uninsurable. Lacey helps us unpack where these numbers are coming from, why they matter, and what they could mean for homeowners, investors, and the wider financial system. We talk through ideas like “climate ghettos,” how changing insurance markets could reshape entire communities, and why this issue has the potential to affect the financial sector as a whole. We won’t lie, parts of this episode are confronting. But it’s an important conversation to start. We've also got you covered with a part 2 coming out on Thursday, where Lacey shifts the focus to what we can actually do, sharing practical steps and areas where we still have control.Articles mentioned by Lacy:Find out more about your home’s resilience needsReport predicting up to 50% contraction of GDP by 2070 to 2090Report by Australian Ethical exploring high impact ways to lower your carbon footprintResources:Find out if your bank invests in fossil fuels (Australia)Find out which banks invest in fossil fuels (Internationally)Find out more about your home’s resilience needsInteractive causal diagram (see what needs to happen to get warming below 1.5 degrees)Sign up to Pearler in January for a year of free brokerage 💸@tashinvests@anakresina@getrichslowclub@pearlerhqGet Rich Slow ClubPearlerYouTubeHow To Not Work ForeverDisclaimerAny advice is general and does not consider your financial situation needs, or objectives, so consider whether it’s appropriate for you. This week we’re chatting with Larissa, our podcast producer, all about her money story, her career pivot from healthcare to fintech, and her very non-linear journey to buying her first home. When Larissa took a close look at her budget, she realised rent and housing costs were by far her biggest expenses, but unfortunately, moving back home wasn’t an option that was available to her. So, she took a risk and combined her healthcare experience with her love of travel and animals, and started pet sitting around Australia in exchange for free accommodation.Fast forward a few years and that decision helped open the door for her to buy her first property, all while still living life on her own terms. We loved this chat with Larissa about embracing non-linear paths, taking risks, staying resilient, and doing the things that scare you just enough. We hope you love it too!Want more of Larissa? A lot of people seem to think you need lots of money to get started investing, but this week Tash and Ana are breaking down why that’s definitely not the case. They chat about how you can start with small amounts of money, especially with the rise of micro-investing apps, and how these tools can make getting started way less intimidating. They also talk through the different options out there and unpack ownership structures in a super simple way, including the difference between CHESS-sponsored accounts, micro-investing platforms, and custodial investing, plus a few things to keep in mind before you dive in.If investing is one of your 2026 goals, this episode gives you a clear and easy path to take your first step!Sign up to Pearler in January for a year of free brokerage 💸@tashinvests@anakresina@getrichslowclub@pearlerhqGet Rich Slow ClubPearlerYouTubeHow To Not Work ForeverDisclaimerAny advice is general and does not consider your financial situation needs, or objectives, so consider whether it’s appropriate for you. Avelima is an incredibly inspiring mum of four who has managed to save $150k in just four years, all while training to become a financial adviser. But her money story growing up looked very different. In this episode, she opens up about what it was like growing up Samoan in Australia and the financial pressures tied to fa'alavelave, a cultural tradition where families contribute to funeral, wedding, or other significant costs that can stretch into the thousands. She shares how she’s learned to reframe her culture and values in a way that still honours her heritage without putting her own family at risk financially, and how setting boundaries has become a game changer for their future. It’s an honest and thoughtful chat that many will relate to, and a lot of us can learn from!Want more of the lovely Avelima? In this episode, Ana chats with Katherine Halliday from Baptist World Aid about what it really looks like to shop more ethically in a world of fast fashion, constant marketing and endless choice. They talk about the real human and environmental costs behind the things we buy, why it can feel like the burden sits on consumers rather than brands, and how to approach these decisions without pressure or perfectionism. Hi guys, I stumbled across your podcast today and I think it's an awesome initiative for those of us who have always wanted to invest but are absolutely daunted by the whole game and just don't know where to begin. Super excited to follow along with the journey! You talked about setting a goal in this episode as an action and suggested investing $5 a day. Can you recommend a place to start with that kind of cash, or do you mean saving $5/ day?
