But her money story growing up looked very different. In this episode, she opens up about what it was like growing up Samoan in Australia and the financial pressures tied to fa'alavelave, a cultural tradition where families contribute to funeral, wedding, or other significant costs that can stretch into the thousands. She shares how she’s learned to reframe her culture and values in a way that still honours her heritage without putting her own family at risk financially, and how setting boundaries has become a game changer for their future. In this episode, Ana chats with Katherine Halliday from Baptist World Aid about what it really looks like to shop more ethically in a world of fast fashion, constant marketing and endless choice. They talk about the real human and environmental costs behind the things we buy, why it can feel like the burden sits on consumers rather than brands, and how to approach these decisions without pressure or perfectionism. Hi guys, I stumbled across your podcast today and I think it's an awesome initiative for those of us who have always wanted to invest but are absolutely daunted by the whole game and just don't know where to begin. Super excited to follow along with the journey! You talked about setting a goal in this episode as an action and suggested investing $5 a day. Can you recommend a place to start with that kind of cash, or do you mean saving $5/ day?
