Description

Roger and Colm chat about the lore of Warhammer 40k

Roger is clueless

Colm knows everything

Join us, the Lost Guardsmen, as we make the perilous journey from an island on Terra through the vastness of the 40k Universe, through this galaxy and the Warp, as we seek to enlighten ourselves and ultimately be a little less lost.

Colm pertains to be a grizzled veteran of many a tabletop battle, in 40k, AoS, Middle Earth SBG, Kill Team, Mordheim but to name a few. Roger has seen active duty across many a card table, LCG, TCG, CCG, he knows what those abbreviations mean and even more about games. However, the galaxy is a large place and there are corners of the internet where only the brave and nerdy lurk. Roger has questions, Colm has answers and Roger gets homework.

Can a termagant advance through the ranks? Is a Blood Angel just a red Ultramarine? Do the Red Onez really go fasta? How doomed are we, and who is the Real Big Bad?

Join us, bold adventurers, as we delve into a ridiculous amount of redaction to find out about the Grey Knights, Chapter 666. Who are they, do they really exist, would you like to meet them, and would you even remember if you did? The potential to get lost is very real, and that's if we even stay on topic. Hopefully we find our way back... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Episode 5 - The Aeldari

Episode 5 - The Aeldari

2024-04-2301:20:28

Things get ruddy mysterious in an episode about the enigmatic Aeldari. Roger has prepared well for this journey, going back to the ancient times of the cataclysm known as 'The Fall'. Colm adds in his observations from the front line over years of service to the God Emperor. However the Warp and the Webway are deceptive places to travel and Roger finds himself finishing this particular adventure solo as some unexplained phenomena sees Colm disappear. It may be that the Guardsmen have become more lost than ever before... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
The Guardsmen get very lost in this episode as Roger gushes lovingly over Dan Abnett's novel 'First and Only' and Colm hares off down multiple lore tangents. Roger, who is usually the voice of reason and the tether to the intended path, can only wax lyrical about the Tanith First and Only, and how terrifying the galaxy is for your basic human soldier. The Warp has made us bare our souls and we betray our age by the mention of our favourite TV shows. Mild Spoilers for 'First and Only' and 'Ghostmaker', no major plot reveals, just an odd section here and there without giving away the main plot. Roger is conscious of not ruining this book for anyone though so take heed! Otherwise enjoy the show and make sure to contact us on Facebook, we'd love to hear from you! Hosted on Acast. Episode 3 - Khorne

Episode 3 - Khorne

2024-02-2201:41:04

In this episode, Colm and Roger get angry as they fall under the influence of Khorne, the Blood God. Known for being the least subtle God amongst the Pantheon of Chaos, prepare to hear multiple variations of blood, skulls, murder, brass, and anger. There's even a guy called Angron! Colm and Roger bitterly accept the truth that they are neither young nor genetically enhanced superhumans, Colm butchers a classic drum beat (by accident, not in Khorne's name) we discuss daemons and mortals, how Khorne armies play in AOS and 40k, and touch base with the ongoing Mordheim Campaign. Enjoy (or else get so consumed by rage that you transcend into a Daemon Prince of Khorne) and let us know what you think on our new FB page! Hosted on Acast. Episode 2: Join us for the second stage of our galactic journey. Roger wants to know more about Baal, home planet of the Blood Angels and Colm wants to wax lyrical about his favourite Space Marine chapter. Baal is not known for its rabbit holes, but Roger is put through his paces preventing Colm from going down any number of them. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Episode 1 - The Tyranids

Episode 1 - The Tyranids

2024-01-1001:18:44

Join us, brave adventurers, as we commence our Odyssey of Lore through the Universes of 40K and beyond. While Colm hopes one day that he will regale Roger with tales of the eight Mortal Realms, the two Lost Guardsmen have to navigate through the Galaxy of Warhammer 40k and Roger has questions about the Tyranids: who are they? Where did they come from? Will they eat us as we are or would they appreciate condiments?Colm talks back through a quarter century of hobbying and lore reading, while Roger prevents the tangents from going too far down the rabbit hole. While Roger learns a reasonable amount in one session, this is definitely just the tip of the iceberg... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
