Join us for the first part of our discussion of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s and 1990s. Robin leverages Taylor Swift's impending album drop to cajole Jon into a conversation about 1989, questionable lawsuits, and track titles.
Sometimes we just need a tiny spark of light in the darkness
Jon and Robin discuss the recent passing of a cultural icon who moonsaulted from grace. RIP childhood memoriesCorrection: The Iron Sheik was Iranian, not Iraqui. Robin tells Jon about that time she got over-caffeinated and thought the FBI was coming after her for pirated DVDs.
Jon is really into simulation theory. Robin doesn't care that much one way or the other, but she's (almost) always happy to hear what Jon has to say.
In their first mini episode, Jon and Robin check in on Tanner Adell and discuss her new single "Going Blonde" and how internet comments are treating her these days.https://open.spotify.com/track/0GxHUehAEyVxsKciEAsR6x?si=96dbc4438ebe4abd
Happy New Year! Yes it's July. Yes we have a significant backlog. But books- like the internet- are forever and so is the drama. Join us as we discuss just a tiny smattering of the controversy that abounds in online reader spaces like Book Tok and Book Threads.
Due to the unpredictability of adulthood, we've been out for a bit. But the internet is forever! Maybe. Who knows? Jon thinks it's in its last gasping days, while Robin can't live if living means without wi-fi. Let's talk Dead Internet Theory because podcasting is way more fun than being a real grown-up.
Robin and BFF Patrick from Swirl Talk 901 discuss Beyonce's triumph at the 2025 Grammys and some people who are Big Mad about it.
Join Robin and Jon for a release of an old episode that has been waiting in the wings for The Moment. And that moment turned out to be Beyonce's multiple 2025 Grammy wins for her album Cowboy Carter. In 2023, a young artist named Tanner Adell released a pop country single titled "Buckle Bunny" and internet men had big feelings in online comment sections. https://countrynow.com/10-questions-with-tanner-adell/https://open.spotify.com/track/17KfodDyg0yKQYmjGGGnlA?si=4039be6d3a7c4741https://open.spotify.com/track/4L2IAII5HElyovLt3u6Nrk?si=3052dc0acf134f2d
Look. It's been a long couple of months. So here's an episode recorded last year about last year. Happy New Year or whatever.

Jon would like to thank Robin for her support and time in conducting this interview.
It has been 10 years since the online harrassment campaign Gamergate targeted female game developers and oozed from dark corners of the internet into mainstream media. What started as a subculture war has become a full-scale culture war influencing major aspects of our lives today. Jon and Robin check in to see where the major players on both sides are now.
The world of professional wrestling is teeming with infighting, superfans, questionable lore, and over the top drama- both real and carefully choreographed. Jon and Robin discuss a few high and low points across decades. Don't know what "kayfabe" means? Here's your chance to find out! (Apologies for the delayed epsiode. Robin has been wrestling with some health issues but is back better, faster, stronger.)
July 2017, the Bluff City was rocked by an absurd scandal that started with a Google Plus review and ended with a delightfully restrained troll Facebook page. Despite a national spotlight on this local scuffle, too many people are still in the dark about Buttholegate. Join Robin and Jon as they celebrate the anniversary of an online battle that can only be described as Memphis AF.

May is both Mental Health Awareness month and Brain Tumor Awareness month. The amazing Shannon Taylor joins Jon and Robin to discuss her experiences, her book, and her fandom! (Spoiler alert: It's Supernatural, and she got Robin hooked.)
You can find Shannon's book- Sucks About Your Brain Tumor- on Amazon.com. All proceeds from the book go to the Epidermoid Brain Tumor Society.
In honor of Mother's Day, Robin spent some quality time with her daugher discussing the unexpected profundity of a universe populated with alien robots in disguise. She also discovered the Motherlode of Transformers online fandom beef and presented Jon with the story of Raksha, an OG G-1 fandom queen. (Please excuse the couple of audio quirks as Robin ventured out on her own without her genius producer and sound engineer for part of this recording.)
For Earth Day, Robin and Jon reflect on the biggest threat to civilization as we know it. No, it's not climate change; it's women existing in action movies. Gross!
If you need more Patrick to get you through the day, check out this spooky episode of his podcast Swirl Talk 901. Sheena Barnett discusses ghosts- ghost tours, ghost sightings, and even a little ghost hunting. Robin is there, too, in her first ever podcast appearance. Take a peek into the expanding multi-verse of TJB Production Group. No special glasses required!
