One night at the skating rink, Kindness Calloway comes across a scene that makes them stop and ask: "Wait—what are you doing?" That's how this unexpected conversation with Ria (@riabarkr) began.   What follows is a raw and inspiring exchange about more than just music. Ria shares how her mom trained her not only in voice but also in spiritual awareness, teaching her to use the reticular activating system (RAS) to focus her thoughts and create the life she wants. We talk about why training your mind is just as important as training your craft.   We're also joined by Tyyla (@tyylamusic), who was there the night Kindness and Ria first met, and we give a big shoutout to Ria's UK producer Jared (@jxred.wav) for his work on Bliss.   The episode closes with an invitation: take about four minutes to channel Bliss while listening to Ria's song by the name. 🎯 Don't Miss This Game-Changing Episode Connor Lamb's story is already sparking important conversations about faith, authenticity, and courage in Christian communities nationwide. His honest account of life at UGA, his role in Athens Church, and the moment he chose truth over comfort is exactly the kind of raw, real conversation our world needs right now. Meet Connor Lamb Connor Lamb lived what many would consider an exemplary college life at the University of Georgia. As a member of the 2022 UGA Homecoming Court, College Outreach Director at Athens Church, Christian fraternity leader, and University Judiciary Justice, Connor was known as "Mr. Christian" on campus. But behind this impressive resume was a young man wrestling with a truth he'd carried since childhood. About Connor's Journey Connor's story is one of remarkable achievement alongside a deep personal and spiritual struggle. After graduating from Johnson Ferry Christian Academy, he built an impressive career foundation as Director of Training and Manager at Chick-fil-A Roswell Corners before pursuing his Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics and Risk Management at UGA's Terry College of Business. Throughout college, Connor served in multiple leadership roles - from his position as a University of Georgia Judiciary Justice for over three years to his impactful work as both College Outreach Director and Family Experience Director at Athens Church. His dedication to God, his community, his frat brothers and university was evident in everything he did.... but something changed.  The Conversation You Need to Hear In this deeply personal episode of Loving Kindness Everyday, Connor sits down with Kindness Calloway in an intimate living room setting to share his authentic story. This isn't about scandal or controversy - it's about a young man's courage to live truthfully despite the potential cost - lossing everything. Even his home.  Connor opens up about navigating same-sex attraction since a young age while simultaneously becoming one of UGA's most visible Christian leaders. He shares the real impact of choosing authenticity over expectation, and how his decision affected his relationships, his community, and his sense of self. Why This Story Matters Connor's experience speaks to anyone who's ever felt caught between who they are and who others expect them to be, especially in the church. His story offers insight into: The complexity of faith and identity Gay Conversion Therapy  Leadership under theological struggle The cost and courage of living authentically How communities respond to unexpected truths Finding your path when it doesn't match the plan This conversation showcases Connor not as a headline, but as a thoughtful, accomplished young man whose honesty has been helping others navigate their own difficult journeys. Today's episode of Loving Kindness Everyday was recorded at Rachell Tires & Wheels, right on the corner of Memorial and Boulevard in southeast Atlanta, Georgia. While I was there, I met Alan D. Jenkins, and we ended up talking about Rivian, water, and responsibility. I'm excited to share that conversation with you, and I believe you'll find it just as thought-provoking as I did. If you missed yesterday's episode, be sure to go back and listen. It was an exercise in Constructive Thought Redirection, blending music with uplifting audio in both English and Spanish. It's designed to help us shift our mindsets and choose better thoughts—something I think you'll really enjoy. Beyond our discussion on electric vehicles, Alan also shared with me personally a bit of information about his work at Academy Mill Farm, a family-owned and operated farm providing grassfed meat from animals regenerating the soil. With deep roots in the land, Alan and farm are committed to protecting pastures, forests, streams, and the wildlife they share this home with. You can learn more by visiting Academy Mill Farm and No2Rivian.org to connect with Alan D. Constructive Thought Direction Tool How to Use This Tool: When your mind is racing, when circumstances feel overwhelming, when you need to stop the mental chatter - press play. Let these declarations wash over you. Don't try to think or analyze, just listen, dance around, speak the words and absorb. Let the repetition do the work of rewiring your thoughts toward what you want to experience.         You Must Stop Thinking and Start Declaring It's important not to let situations and circumstances dictate your thoughts and feelings. In order to maintain right thinking and keep your mind fixed on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely - things that are worthy of smiling about in life - these are the thoughts we should meditate on and hold onto. But sometimes it's tough, right? That's why I use a method I call Constructive Thought Direction - where I choose a thought that feels good and think it over and over, actively not allowing my brain to go on "autopilot" or "rest," so I can focus on thoughts that are good even in situations that FEEL less than good. This episode IS that tool.  What This Is: 🎵 Pure Affirmation Audio - No talking, no teaching, just transformation 🌍 Bilingual Declarations - English and Spanish affirmations for maximum impact 🎶 Uplifting Background Music - Designed to calm your mental systems and give you a new focus ⚡ Strength & Health Focus - Every word speaks vitality over your life 🧠 Mental Reset Button - Use when you need to redirect your thoughts immediately. This Episode Theme: STRENGTH & HEALTH (Sana y Fuerza) Every affirmation in this episode declares strength and health over: Your physical body and all its systems Your relationships and connections Your finances and business life Your emotional and spiritual well-being Your entire life experience This is Constructive Thought Direction in action - choosing what your mind focuses on instead of letting life choose for you. Perfect for: Morning mindset reset Stressful moment intervention Before sleep reprogramming Workout motivation Meditation background Any time you need to redirect your mental energy Most admittedly, this is far easier said than done - which is why having this audio tool becomes essential. Your own Constructive Thought Direction will become evident in your life as you use it. This week on Loving Kindness Everyday, Kindness Calloway is back with a preseason short—a little drop of wisdom before we kick things back into full swing in September. What happens when you set everything up for your "summer of success"… only to see it taken away overnight? In this shorter, street-side chat with Ken from Alpharetta, a conversation about shipping costs, packaging, and the wastefulness of consumer culture opened up into something deeper: What is the true weight of our choices, and how do they shape the future for all of us? From there, we reflect on another kind of "wait"—that space of faith and patience when you believe things will work out but haven't seen it yet. This episode is about weight, wait, and waste—but also about how nothing is ever truly wasted when we allow the promise of a hopeful future (Jeremiah 29:11) to carry us forward. 💛 If you've ever worked hard only to have your plans interrupted, this one's for you. Remember: the waiting isn't wasted—it's part of the journey.    ✨ Don't forget to follow the podcast for weekly reflections, follow Kindness on IG: @KindnesstheKid for daily updates and behind the scenes peeks, share this mini episode with a friend, and get ready for our full September return. What drives someone to run for hours? Through heat, snow, exhaustion, and intense physical pain? In this powerful episode of Loving Kindness Everyday, host Kindness Calloway sits down with the elite athlete and ultramarathoner Manika Gamble to explore that very question. Manika Gamble is officially a history maker as the first American woman of African orgins to complete the grueling 155-mile (250KM), 7-day, self-supported ultramarathon stage race in Namibia's Namib Desert which is the oldest desert in the world. Manika's strength, resilience, and determination pushed her through one of the most grueling endurance challenges on the planet and she sat down with Kindness Calloway to discuss it. What begins as a conversation about the reality of endurance running - the mental battles, physical limits, and pushing through pain, quickly unfolds into something deeper and thought provoking. As Manika reflects on the grueling challenge of her first ultramarathon, the conversation turns toward faith, spirituality, and motivation. The discussion moves into topics of religious identity, scripture, and spiritual struggle. Together, they discuss faith, the meaning of the 144,000 witnesses, and how certain Bible verses have been misused to exclude specific groups of people from faith communities. This conversation is unfiltered, thought provoking and unique. It invites listeners to sit with discomfort, reflect deeply, and hear from Manika Gamble in her own words as she speaks about endurance, faith, and the search for meaning.  Also meantioned in this episode;  Film 1946 and the spiritual harm caused to humans by mistranslations and bad theology Kathy Baldock and her work Kindness Calloway mentions the work of artist and Atlanta based activist Jessica Blinkhorn, a friend of the show and future featured guest.  🎧 Share this show on all podcast platforms and visit KindnessCalloway.com to find more ways to connect with Kindness in Atlanta.  🛍 Support the show by shopping BentleyFortune.com , an Atlanta based brand --> use code KindnesstheKid for a great deal and to support the show! 🔎 Keywords: Manika Gamble, ultramarathon, Black endurance athlete, Namibia ultramarathon, Jehovah's Witness faith, 144000 witnesses, Bible mistranslation, scripture misuse, 1946: The Movie, Kathy Baldock, Jessica Blinkhorn, spiritual abuse, Atlanta activism, Kindness Calloway, Loving Kindness Everyday podcast, queer spirituality, Black women in endurance sports, faith and resilience, desert ultramarathon  Be sure to follow Manika's next adventure and her reflections on endurance, fitness, and mindset on Instagram at @manikaruns.

LKE 2.7 || For When You Feel Like Giving Up – Real Talk with TJ Murphy March was supposed to be a month of success mantras and lovingkindness meditations, but life doesn't always go as planned. On March 5th, I lost my friend—who I'll call Bobby—to suicide. Grief hit hard, and with it came reflection, heartbreak, and the urgent need to speak on something deeper. In early 2024, I met TJ Murphy at an e-bike shop here in Atlanta. What started as a casual conversation turned into an open discussion about suicide, loss, and the impact it leaves behind. In this episode, I'm sharing part of that conversation—TJ's experience losing his father to suicide, how he processed the information, and the wisdom he has for anyone struggling with a hard time. Alongside the words of TJ Murphy from Decatur we also hear a reflection from Kindness Calloway on "Bobby's" passing, a message to anyone who feels like they can't keep going. In this thought-provoking episode of Loving Kindness Everyday, Kindness Calloway sits down with David Crockett of Street Talk ATL for a raw and unfiltered conversation about faith, sex, and the Bible. Together, they dive into what scripture really says about sexual relationships—both within and outside of marriage—and how religious teachings have shaped cultural norms. The discussion also touches on the influence of figures like Andy Stanley and the evolving interpretations of Christian doctrine.   Plus, listeners get an exclusive sneak peek into an upcoming episode featuring Texas Senator Jasmine Crockett.   This episode also discusses 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, a documentary that explores how a single translation error altered Christianity's stance on homosexuality and continues to impact the faith today.   Prepare for an eye-opening conversation that challenges tradition, questions long-held beliefs, and encourages deeper exploration of truth and spirituality.
Some stories unfold in ways we could never plan—this is one of them. This episode begins at the end, where filmmaker Sharon "Rocky" Roggio and I, Kindness Calloway, found ourselves sitting inside Andy Stanley's church in Alpharetta, Georgia, just after the 2023 Unconditional Conference. How did we get there? And what deeper meaning was woven into this moment? Recorded February 2024, this conversation unpacks the divine synchronicity that connected 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture, Andy Stanley, and the broader discussion of LGBTQ+ inclusion in Christianity. You'll also hear from Christian Amaro, who shares their perspective on how Stanley's words impact our community. We dive into the "gray area"—the space where some Christians believe homosexuality is a sin to be condemned, while others believe LGBTQ+ individuals are created and loved by God. Andy Stanley has positioned himself somewhere in between, and we begin the work of unpacking that tension. This is just the start. In future episodes, we'll continue this conversation with others who attended the conference and have strong perspectives on faith, sexuality, and biblical interpretation. This is a conversation about faith, love, and the stories that bring us together. Listen in, and let's keep unraveling the threads of divine synchronicity. Want to go deeper? Have you ever faced a moment where life felt impossible, and then, somehow—beautifully, perfectly—everything changed in an instant, just when you were about to give up?   That's the kind of moment I'm sharing here with you friend. In this clip, you'll hear me, Kindness Calloway, speaking back in February 2024 with filmmaker Sharron "Rocky" Roggio. I recount a deeply personal time when I felt the Creator and all the forces of the Universe step in and provide me with exactly what I needed—money. For me, it was a precise, undeniable reminder of the Creator's unconditional love and deep desire for me to find joy and fulfillment in life.   As Florence Scovel Shinn so aptly wrote in : "Your big opportunity may be where you are now." In the book the Secret Door of Success she reminds us that faith and gratitude open the way to divine blessings, healing, and financial provisions. It's vitally important to keep a record of past miracles and/or seemingly impossible or random blessings. Helpful, you will find it in the those moments when the Soul feels weak. Looking back on past Divine Moments and Blessings serves as a powerful reminder that there's proof of Life's seemingly impossible provisions in the past and where we also see God's intention promised for the future (Jeremiah 29:11). Because of all of this, we can, if we choose to Rest. We can rest assured that what the God has done before can be done again—and more! We can be sure that what God has done for others can be done for me and more. And we can rest, hopeful, peacefully in gratitude for the past moments of victory and hopeful understanding that trials we currently face are somehow making way for greater blessings yet to come.   This moment is shared for anyone who feels like they're in a low place right now, searching for hope. Whether you're asking for a kidney, a paycheck, or simply a moment of peace in the chaos of all of this... you're not alone. The Creator of the Universe has called you by name, loves you deeply, and hasn't forgotten you—this is your sign.  Let's encourage ourselves together, just as David did in 1 Samuel 30:6, and boldly ask the Creator: "Do it again, Creator. Show me again just how much You love me. I need You. Amen."   If this message has touched your heart, we invite you to support the Loving Kindness Everyday podcast by donating $5 or more via Cashapp ($KindnessCalloway) or Venmo (@KindnessCalloway). LKe 2.4 | "What Breaks Your Heart, Andy Stanley?" Subtitle: North Point Church and a Conversation with Georgia's Longest-Serving Openly Gay Legislator, Sam Park In this episode of Loving Kindness Everyday, recorded in April 2024, before Sam Park's re-election, we sit down with Georgia's longest-serving out gay legislator, Sam Park. Sam and Kindness have a candid conversation about life, race, politics, and…                     Andy Stanley!? Attorney Samuel Lauderdale Park, a Georgia native and grandson of Korean War refugees, shares how Andy Stanley's teachings and North Point Community Church shaped his journey through faith, grief, and politics. As the conversation unfolds Sam opens up about the personal loss of his mother to cancer and a family member to suicide, sharing how these painful experiences, paired with Andy Stanley's wisdom, influenced his approach to life and, ultimately, political leadership.  The controversial sermon Stanley delivered after the Unconditional Conference in October 2023, comes up and sparks a deeper, raw and at times uneasy discussion about skin color, the intersection of faith, love, and inclusion. What emerges is a candid discussion full of surprises, raw moments, differing views, and unexpected revelations. Also featured is a preview with Sharron "Rocky" Roggio, director of the documentary 1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture. Rocky sat down with Kindness following their trip to North Point Church to discuss faith, inclusion, and the power of re-examining scripture through a lens of love and understanding.  Support the Show:  🛍️ Shop everyday and luxury items at KindnessCalloway.com. 🏷️ Use coupon code KindnesstheKid at Bentley Fortune for special discounts. 📺 Subscribe on YouTube and follow us on Instagram to support us by liking and Subscribing!
