Description

On my Youtube channel ENGLOGIC I teach advanced English and the language learning process through their logical and mathematical patterns, which we can use as anchors to UNDERSTAND how a language works rather than simply MEMORISE it. In this podcast I want to discuss and share my experience and thoughts on English as a language, the general language learning process as both a teacher and a student and my approach to foreign languages. We will also cover completely unrelated topics, such as my career as a singing drag queen, how the world of performing and Youtube works and general everyday life subjects as I firmly believe it is important to remember that English is not just something that you learn for the sake of it but it is an instrument that we use to express our feelings, thoughts and experiences in all aspects of life

‘IS SPELLING DIFFICULT ONLY IN ENGLISH?’ and ‘IS PRONUNCIATION HARD ONLY IN ENGLISH?’: these are my questions to you today. English spelling and pronunciation are undeniably tricky and painful to learn but we never take the time to analyse how other languages work. English is BLATANLY hard in this respect, it’s just there in your face, but other languages have subtleties that are often ignored and overlooked. How high is the spelling-pronunciation conversion rate in your native language?
Does C2 level really exist in languages? Is C2 level used in real life and spoken by native speakers? These are the two topics I want to discuss today as I think they affect a lot of learners of foreign languages, not just English but any language. I think C2 primarily tends to be a bit of an illusion and I will tell you why. Do you think you speak at C2 level in your native language?
In today’s Pronunciation video we analyse the Different Sounds between British and American Accent. Some of these differences are very noticeable, obvious and famous (if you will), but some are a bit trickier and can often be overlooked even by actors that are learning one of the two accents
I’ve recently read LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY, a book that surprised me and struck a chord with me on a very deep level as it truthfully portrays the social struggles that people with scientific minds like me face on a daily basis. Today’s listening video is about my review of and thoughts on this wonderful book
In today’s C1 C2 English Vocabulary video we analyse 10 useful advanced English words you don't learn in school. These words are extremely useful and common(some a bit more than others) and I don’t understand why they are not taught in school, as they would make students’ lives much easier when they talk to native speakers
The very important question I want to address today is ‘IS IT THE TEACHER’S FAULT IF STUDENTS DON’T IMPROVE?’. Based on my experience as a student and a teacher, my short answer to this question is NO and in today’s podcast-like episode I explain why I don’t think students should blame their teachers if they fail, as there is a lot they can do to learn by themselves
I’ve tested my friends’ English grammar with this ADVANCED ENGLISH QUIZ. Today we are going to analyse their answers and see how well they did. Can you pass this difficult English Grammar quiz? Let me know how you get on!
Today we are going to analyse quite a few often forgotten ENGLISHHOMOPHONES and we are also going to see how some short sentences canbe pronounced exactly the same but have completely different meanings
Today we are going to talk about why I QUIT teaching students. I have always been and always will be a teacher at heart and I love helping students reach their full potential; but whilst my passion for sharing my knowledge has never wavered, my interest in interacting with students fizzled out over the years, which is why I am extremely happy I have become a Youtube teacher
Whether we like Valentine's Day or not, we can still use it to learn a lot of advanced English vocabulary related to love (or lack thereof haha)In this episode I also give you a taster of my funnily tragic love life: do you have any funny stories to share?
I don’t think many people know what the process of becoming a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language entails so today I want to tell you how my training worked, what I liked and what I did not like about it, my thoughts on other English teachers and their reasons for becoming teachers in the first place and how we can choose the best teacher for us
