Description

Your two newest favorite idiots, Cory the Common Idiot and Kent the Doctor Idiot take on a myriad of pet topics in a (sorta) weekly podcast. They’ll make you laugh, they might make you cry, they might even make you cringe, but hopefully, you’ll learn something about the furriest and favorite part of your family. If you are looking for intelligent and linear discussions, clean vocabularies, and ground breaking content, this podcast isn’t for you. If you want the feel like you’re sitting around a table, picking up a little knowledge and sharing a laugh whilst sharing a beverage with friends, pull up a proverbial seat and listen in. Be an idiot with them.

While Dr Kent is a real veterinarian, this show does not constitute a doctor/patient relationship. “Vet Med For Idiots By Idiots” is designed to bring light and educate on multiple topics, not to diagnose, advise, or create a treatment plan. Please always consult your local veterinarian for any and all care specific to your pet.

In the season 1 closer, The Idiots bring on their friend Dr. Justin to discuss the hectic world of trauma and emergency medicine. Learn the best way to know when to walk in vs emergency. They talk about emotions in the office, good times, and bad times. Also, as a reminder-don’t be a dick to your vet. New Episodes will be up in a few weeks. Promise. They'd never leave you!
On this week's episode, your favorite Idiots talk bringing home baby with special guest, comedian, cancer survivor, dad, and vocal badass, Adam Degi. The Idiots dive into topics including initial meeting, boundaries, and how to keep your dog from being jealous of the new human puppy.  They explain where babies come from (it involves a broom closet), and they finally have a funny episode due to the inclusion of Adam.
In this episode, The Idiots discuss FeLV and FIV, which affect cats quite aggressively. They discuss best ways to avoid, prevent, and treat these cats afflictions, known as the lovers and fighters diseases. Along with actual, worthwhile information, find out Dr. Kent's fursona and listen to the show meltdown due to Dr. Kent trying to figure out the difference between Angela Bassett and Anjelica Huston.
Special note from The Idiots- Be advised there is a bit of a trigger warning for this episode. The Idiots stand by this episode and do believe it may be the most important episode we have done.  Every dog owner has one day that is always going to be worse than any others. Any dog owner that has gone through this knows how horrible it is. With this in mind, it's very difficult to make the decision to say goodbye. The Idiots are joined by Dr. Penny, a euthanasia expert, and discuss the ironic piece that the most care and love anyone can do is making the right call to send your furry companion across the Rainbow Bridge. They discuss how to know when the time is right, and put different spins on the topic to let you know that you're absolutely doing the right thing. They still try to keep levity on a topic that is hard to cover.
Today's episode is actually fun. The Idiots talk about a handful of fictional dogs with a realistic lens, and how Kent would care for these dogs as their primary dogtor. You'll also learn a lot of bonus trivia about the characters, the breeds they're based upon, and behind the scenes of the shows they're from.

Did you know that dogs can get STDs!? Well, now you do. You'll hear about exchanges of fluids from body secretions. It's more entertaining than it sounds. The Idiots also discuss spaying and neutering. They didn't give me much to work with for an episode description. Does anyone even really read these? Anyway, bullet points-dogs can get STDs, the disease can jump species, Bob Barker made neutering gender specific to dogs, Kent doesn't like milk but does love cheese, Cory can't make sense of this. Please keep listening.
The Idiots have their vet tech pal Rachel on to discuss bulldogs. French, English, and otherwise. They discuss the pros and cons of having bulldogs (expect to spend a whole lot of money, just sayin'). They also cover the world of veterinary technician work, the good, bad, and wormy. Quick reminder, as well-DO NOT BUY A DOG if you think it is just a status symbol.

On the newest episode, The Idiots discuss US presidents fighting zombies and vampires. Yes, this has nothing to do with the topic, but, if you've been listening this long to these guys, you know how terribly quick they get derailed. They do eventually get on task, and discuss declawing cats. They dive into how it is done, if there is a good time to declaw, and alternatives. Also, Dr Kent gets a little deep and introspective, which is rare. Scary even. Enjoy!
Pitbulls With Brienna

Pitbulls With Brienna

The Pits. The Idiots discuss pitbulls with their first guest, Brienna, and talk breed specific laws, pitbull ignorance, and myths. She is a lobbyist for BSL, the founder of Outcats and Underdogs (a nonprofit advocating for at risk cats and dogs, including handicapped animals, black cats, and large breed dogs), a pin up, artist, and all around badass. Come listen to our discussion as will take the bullshit out of pitbulls. Full disclosure, the Idiots were shortly after asked to take part of Brienna's rescue group called Outcats and Underdogs, specializing in finding homes for high risk pets, such as black cats, bully breeds, disabled, and elderly pets, among others. As enough time passed between recording date and release date, things happened. If you would like to be involved or want to know how to donate, please find them on Insta and Facebook and look for shows in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Thank you.
The Idiots discuss Canine Influenza and Kennel Cough in this riveting episode. Learn about how to keep your dogs safe (spoiler, it's cautionary exposure and vaccination) and learn that birds are actually animals, not drones. Also, they teach you that oxygen is paramount to living! They also shamelessly plug our new treats often, but they're proud of them! They are good, I'll admit. My dog told me.
Another episode, another double dose of why you need to vaccinate your dogs, or they'll end up like Edgar Allan Poe. Or something. I don't know. As editor of this, I casually listen to the stuff Cory and Dr. Cory or whatever his name is talk about. But seriously, vaccinate your dogs against rabies and Lyme. They're very, very dangerous. Quoth the Idiots, nevermore!
Ground Zero. The Genesis. The beginning of something great. Well, that's not hear (see what I did there?). Want to audibly hear growing pains? Look no further! Join in for The Idiots' first episode, diving in the fascinating world of Parvo and Lepto, two nasty ailments that can hurt and kill your favorite family member. Enjoy learning tidbits of urethra information, as well.
