Is it really happening?! After years and years of being the butt of jokes, the Canucks' possible practice facility plans are front and centre on today's show. Matt and Blake look at the possible location and what would need to be done to get it up to NHL standards. The guys look at what it does for the team's acquisition of players and what might have been lost without one for all these years. The guys also listen in on the comments of head coach Adam Foote yesterday, who talked about a new wave of constructive communication amongst the players in the dressing room, lauding the leadership shown in recent weeks. Matt and Blake debate how that reflects on the captaincy of Quinn Hughes, and the leadership of guys like Miller and EP40. The Daily Hive's Rob Williams joins the show to dive headfirst into the Canucks' practice rink story. Rob weighs in on the rink's location and what it would mean for the team and the community but he also tackles some of the concerns around the collaboration with the city too. Then Rob gets into the questions of leadership and culture inside the Canucks dressing room and what that might look like in the future without the likes of Hughes, Miller, Garland and whoever else leaves this summer. TSN's Frank Corrado drops by for his weekly visit and has a breakdown on the play of the Canucks' young defencemen in Buium, WIllander and Elias Pettersson. Frank talks about the value in the Garland trade, plus whether he sees any other veteran trades providing useful future assets for the Canucks this summer. We also hear Frankie's opinion on what a practice facility means for a player. Then Matt and Blake finish up with a look at the incredible stories coming out of the World Baseball Classic, including a Canada/USA quarterfinal. They also preview the Whitecaps vs Seattle tonight in a Champions Cup showdown, plus the PGA's Player Championship loses a contender and maybe the tour loses a few tournaments?!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary! After another explosive performance for Conor Garland in Columbus, Matt and Blake join the many who are wondering if the Canucks may have had a long list of quitters over the past 2 seasons. The guys chronicle the evidence and look at the consequences of the losing culture, but also how the new young players may be able to erase it. The boys also take a peek at the vanishing UFA market in the NHL and how it may serve the Canucks well if they choose to turn some veterans into draft capital and prospects. Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects joins in on that convsersation and when he expects talks to heat up for players like Boeser, DeBrusk, O'Connor or anyone else not named Hronek. Cam also has an update on the NCAA free agents who may be on the Canucks list and on growing consensus that Gavin McKenna is indeed going to be the 1st pick overall. Then it's Postmedia's Patrick Johnston with the lowdown on the fan sentiment in Vancouver, the empty seats at Rogers Arena, and a much needed path to fan affordability during the Canucks rebuild. The guys wrap up the show with the Whitecaps getting set for a showdown with a World Cup superstar in his MLS debut, Iran pulling out of the World Cup, and the World Baseball Classic is full of drama on and off the diamond!!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary! Another loss for the Canucks last night, but a hard fought one at least, for Matt and Blake to recap on today's show. The guys look at the flashy play of Zeev Buium and where they think he's projecting in his career and how the Canucks should deploy him going forward. The guys compare Buium to other Canucks prospects and debate where he ranks among them as the Canucks begin this rebuild. We also hear from the Canucks after the game as they kickoff this epic 8 game homestand. RinkWide's Jeff Paterson brings his review to the table as well. JPat talks about the inability to generate scoring chances, the wait for Marco Rossi to make an impact, and Evander Kane's probability of hitting 1000 games with the Canucks this season. Then it's a visit from Surrey's own, Whitecaps midfielder Jeevan Badwal. The soon-to-be 20 year old talks about his fast start to 2026 and what the catalyst was to start his season so confidently. He gets into the chemistry of the Whitecaps and who is a bigger inspiration on the team, Müller or Berhalter? Plus, a preview of the Whitecaps vs Seattle on Thursday at BC Place. the guys wrap up the show with some weekly awards to the Whitecaps, more free agency comings and goings for the Seahawks, and the weirdest drama from the World Baseball Classic might belong to a pair of Mariners?!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary! After a weekend to digest the trades and watch the Canucks play some better hockey, Matt and Blake have lots to talk about and plenty of debate! The guys discuss the next steps in the Canucks rebuild and debate who should remain from the front office to shepherd the team. The boys also look at the Canucks coaching staff and wonder what that could look like down the road. Plus, the newest Canuck is unveiled at the gameday skate amidst some lineup changes vs the Sens. TSN's Darren Dreger joins the guys for a deadline recap, detailing how it all went down for the Canucks and the rest of the NHL. Dregs goes back to look at the Myers and Garland trades, but also talks about the late arriving action on what was still a slow deadline, and how cap space really changed the dynamic. Darren has the low down on the interest in Canucks that remain and on the possibility of more trades coming surrounding the draft in June. Plus, how did Kane and Blueger not get offers?! Then it's RinkWide's Irfaan Gaffar with his info on the likes of Boeser and DeBrusk, breaking down how this roster might change till the end of the season and as it approaches July 1. Irf tackles the treatment of Evander Kane going forward and whether he gets to his 1000th game this season. It was one of the better games in a long time but Matt and Blake still have another Canucks loss to look at on today's show.. The guys do chronicle better performances though, from Marco Rossi to Nils Höglander to... centre Elias Pettersson?? The guys also deal with the concerns in net too, as Lankinen gets yanked and Tolipilo lets in the game winner. Then it's on to trade deadline matters, as the guys listen in Tyler Myers departing words before he heads to Dallas. They also put their ear to the ground for the latest on other possible trade fronts. DFO insider David Pagnotta jumps in as well with the details on where changes could occur for the Canucks and what would contitute a successful final 24 hours before the deadline. Are there any possible surprises? Matt and Blake finish up with a look at the Seahawks free agent landscape and a turning of the page from last season. Some soccer news too as the Canadian women look better in a loss vs the US and the Whitecaps learn their Leagues Cup schedule, plus, Granville street gets ready for a summer shutdown?!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary! TRADE ALERT! Matt and Blake are here to break down the first Canucks trade of deadline week, as Tyler Myers is now a Dallas Star. The guys get into what they think of the return from Texas, and whether this is a sign of major things to come over the final 2 days. The boys look back on the Myers tenure in Vancouver and look ahead to a very young looking blueline corps that is left behind. Plus, Matt and Blake also look at the Garland rumours from yesterday and anything else that is simmering! TSN's Frank Corrado drops by with his full recap of the trade and the price paid by Dallas. Frank talks about the Canucks' work still left to be done and the amazing fall from grace that has led them to this unfortunate spot. He talks about the Kiefer Sherwood extension in San Jose and how that colours in the Canucks' trade return for him. The Daily Hive's Rob Williams pays his weekly visit to review the Myers trade and look back on his time as a Canuck. Rob talks about what this deal tells us about the Canucks' intentions in the rebuild and how it might affect fan confidence. He also looks back on the recent comments from Elias Pettersson and Jake DeBrusk, and how each of their comments are being digested by the fanbase. Matt and Blake then finish up with an update from Whitecaps training, World Cup plans coming in and out of focus, and a local making her LPGA debut this week!Thank you to our great sponsors:@bet365: It's never ordinary!
