Description

Welcome to Liquid Assets - a show with Mark Felstead where we talk to some of the world’s leading minds on how to fix one of the world’s biggest problems…making clean water available to everyone the world over.
Water is more than a necessity; it's life itself. Despite our beautiful planet being covered in over 70% water, over 96% of this is salt water, leaving only a fraction for billions worldwide to drink.
In fact, only a tiny fraction runs through our rivers, lakes and streams
So you would think we would do everything possible to keep them clean, right?
In Liquid Assets we will be talking to innovators, movers and shakers at the forefront of doing exactly that.

S1 E3 Speaker: Mark Felstead, Guest: Oscar Rossbach In the third episode of Liquid Assets, host Mark Felstead interviews Oscar Rossbach from Dutch Clean Tech on the water conservation measures in Mexico City. They discuss the problems of scarcity and pollution, the use of ozone generators in water treatment, industrial and residential water waste, and how Dutch Clean Tech is addressing these issues. Rossbach also highlights the supportive role of the Netherlands Embassy in Mexico towards promoting Dutch water treatment tech. Value Bombs 1) 80% of the city’s water treatment plants are not working! 2) Water is being wasted at the rate of 86 million litres per day – that is the water from 35 olympic sized swimming pools, or enough to fill the Aztec Football stadium every three days, literally going down the drain.  3) There is a water crisis as never been seen before as although there is enough water, it is simply too polluted to be used. S1 E2 Speaker: Mark Felstead, Guest: Joseph Daniel Mooney Episode 2 of Liquid Assets explores global water issues, focusing particularly on Guatemala. The host, Mark Felstead, and Joseph Daniel Mooney of Dutch Cleantech discuss current problems, potential solutions, and Dutch Cleantech's mission. They emphasise the importance of dealing with water contamination and highlight the intended impact of their initiatives. Value Bombs 1) Guatemala City is booming economically but this is placing a tremendous strain on its infrastructure – particularly its waste water treatment. 2) The natural aquifers that supply the city with its fresh water are depleting at an alarming rate – best estimates say they will be empty in 20 years – meaning if it carries on like this there will be NO drinking water for the city. 3) Due to the poor quality of the water child mortality is one of the highest in Latin America. Speaker: Mark Felstead, Guest: Sander Pielkenrood In the first episode of Liquid Assets, host Mark Felstead converses with Sander Pielkenrood, CEO of Dutch Clean Tech, about resolving global water scarcity and sanitation issues.
