While Sam and Dean are in a town investigating poltergeist activity at the house of a former babysitter, Sam ends up in a body swap situation with a local teenager Gary.We discuss the reasons why Laura doesn’t like this episode and Joy does like it, how Jared steals the show with his acting, and how good Sarah Drew is as Nora/the demon. We also discuss how long it takes Dean to work out what is going on, Gary and Trevor and their entitlement, and how Gary is how Sam should really be in real life.Joy’s Easter eggs are about body swapping magic in folklore, and hauntings and folklore from the location Housatonic, Massachusetts. Is that the hottest take we have had on this podcast so far?? Maybe. In lieu of an Easter egg this week we have insight from a psychologist, and also from someone who has experience of being in a psychiatric facility, giving us their thoughts about this episode.Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!Sources used:https://epguides.com/Supernatural/ (for dates of episodes)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1543420/?ref_=ttep_ep_11 https://supernaturalwiki.com/5.11_Sam,_Interrupted_(transcript) Joy's show notes Email us: thewitchesofletters@gmail.comSubscribe and follow us on socials:Find us on Instagram Find us on ThreadsSupport the show by leaving a review and a 5 star rating wherever you listen, and sharing the episode with a friend.Theme music is Hard Rock (Fireman) by AlexGrohl from Pixabay Supernatural podcast, Supernatural TV show rewatch, Supernatural episode recap, Supernatural rewatch podcast, Supernatural fan podcast, Supernatural analysis podcast, Sam and Dean Winchester, Castiel, hunters and monsters, Supernatural demons, Supernatural angels, lore, favourite Supernatural moments, SPNFamily, behind the scenes Supernatural, monster of the week podcast, paranormal, urban legends, horror, fantasy, Supernatural season 4 recap, women podcasters.

Sam, Dean and Bobby work a case involving a witch playing poker games where people gamble with years of their life instead of money. Both Bobby and Dean lose years and age, and it’s up to Sam to save them with his secretly good poker skills. We discuss our thoughts about the character Patrick; the differences in quality between some of the aging scenes; and then we try to understand poker and how fictional aging would work- would Bobby be out of his wheelchair if he just got younger? How old is old Dean supposed to be???We also discuss how important Bobby is when he says he feels useless, how Sam is a genius when he manipulates Patrick in his poker game, and how toxic masculinity ruined the cute moment between Bobby and Dean at the end.Joy’s Easter eggs are about the representation of Asian women in media, witches bells, and real folklore involving bets and bargaining.Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!Sources used:https://epguides.com/Supernatural/ (for dates of episodes)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1507550/?ref_=ttep_ep_7 https://supernaturalwiki.com/5.07_The_Curious_Case_of_Dean_Winchester_(transcript) Joy’s show notes Email us: thewitchesofletters@gmail.comSubscribe and follow us on socials:Find us on Instagram Find us on ThreadsSupport the show by leaving a review and a 5 star rating wherever you listen, and sharing the episode with a friend.Theme music is Hard Rock (Fireman) by AlexGrohl from Pixabay Supernatural podcast, Supernatural TV show rewatch, Supernatural episode recap, Supernatural rewatch podcast, Supernatural fan podcast, Supernatural analysis podcast, Sam and Dean Winchester, Castiel, hunters and monsters, Supernatural demons, Supernatural angels, lore, favourite Supernatural moments, SPNFamily, behind the scenes Supernatural, monster of the week podcast, paranormal, urban legends, horror, fantasy, Supernatural season 4 recap, women podcasters.
In this episode Joy and Laura break down season 5 episode 6 “I Believe The Children Are Our Future”. Sam and Dean investigate a series of deaths and strange happenings that resemble urban legends or lies that kids believe. After some investigation they find a young boy called Jesse who possesses the power to make his thoughts reality, and who Cas says is the Antichrist. We discuss how the demon lore on the show has seemingly changed; how Jesse is actually very sweet, even though he’s the supposed Antichrist; and also how we never see him again after this episode, even though he seems very relevant to the apocalypse plot.We also discuss how a lot of the lies we tell children have breaking and entering involved for some reason, and Joy traumatises Laura with a story about sea monkeys.Joy’s Easter eggs are about what happened to the Castiel action figures on the set, how the Antichrist lore holds up, and some examples of surreal history.Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!Sources used:https://epguides.com/Supernatural/ (for dates of episodes)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1506849/?ref_=ttep_ep_6 https://supernaturalwiki.com/5.06_I_Believe_the_Children_Are_Our_Future_(transcript) Joy’s show notes Email us: thewitchesofletters@gmail.comSubscribe and follow us on socials:Find us on Instagram Find us on ThreadsSupport the show by leaving a review and a 5 star rating wherever you listen, and sharing the episode with a friend.Theme music is Hard Rock (Fireman) by AlexGrohl from Pixabay Supernatural podcast, Supernatural TV show rewatch, Supernatural episode recap, Supernatural rewatch podcast, Supernatural fan podcast, Supernatural analysis podcast, Sam and Dean Winchester, Castiel, hunters and monsters, Supernatural demons, Supernatural angels, lore, favourite Supernatural moments, SPNFamily, behind the scenes Supernatural, monster of the week podcast, paranormal, urban legends, horror, fantasy, Supernatural season 4 recap, women podcasters.
In this episode Joy and Laura break down season 5 episode 5 “Fallen Idols”. Sam and Dean investigate when it seems like the ghosts of famous people start killing residents of a town in Ohio.We start with a, sort of, mailbag segment where listeners tell us the line or scene that got them hooked on Supernatural, and their comfort episodes. Feel free to email us yours. You can find the email address further down in these show notes. We discuss the commentary around celebrity that this episode brings up as satire, and the beauty standard of the 2000’s; Dean fangirling over James Dean’s car; and Paris Hilton’s performance. Spoiler alert, we love it, so if you’re here to hate on her, you’re in the wrong place.Joy fact checks the lore about James Dean’s car, and her Easter eggs are about real Leshy folklore, and how we idolise celebrities.Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!Sources used:https://epguides.com/Supernatural/ (for dates of episodes)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1488983/?ref_=ttep_ep_5 https://supernaturalwiki.com/5.05_Fallen_Idols_(transcript) Joy's show notes Email us: thewitchesofletters@gmail.comSubscribe and follow us on socials:Find us on Instagram Find us on ThreadsSupport the show by leaving a review and a 5 star rating wherever you listen, and sharing the episode with a friend.Theme music is Hard Rock (Fireman) by AlexGrohl from Pixabay Supernatural podcast, Supernatural TV show rewatch, Supernatural episode recap, Supernatural rewatch podcast, Supernatural fan podcast, Supernatural analysis podcast, Sam and Dean Winchester, Castiel, hunters and monsters, Supernatural demons, Supernatural angels, lore, favourite Supernatural moments, SPNFamily, behind the scenes Supernatural, monster of the week podcast, paranormal, urban legends, horror, fantasy, Supernatural season 4 recap, women podcasters.

In this episode Joy, Laura and their guest Wally from The Wally Verse break down season 4 episode 22 “Lucifer Rising”. Sam and Dean are still at odds over Sam’s increasing reliance on Ruby and his demon-blood powers. Sam, convinced he must stop Lilith to prevent the apocalypse, continues working with Ruby to find and kill her. Meanwhile Dean has to deal with the angels who are trying to keep him away from Sam, because it is revealed that they in fact want Lillith to die as that is the final seal, and they want the apocalypse to happen. Dean works out what is going on and with Cas’ help gets to Sam to try and stop him, but it’s too late and the final seal gets broken freeing Lucifer. We discuss Ruby’s character arc, how nerdy Sam and Dean really are, how the angelic teleporting works, and our thoughts about Destiel. We also discuss the set design of the angel green room; how deep Azazel’s plot must have gone right from the start, due to what we see in the flashbacks in this episode; and who we think was behind the altered voicemail!Joy’s Easter eggs are about a haunted college in the same place as this episode is set (St. Mary's College "Hell House" in Maryland) and other links to it too.Stay safe out there, have each other’s backs, and always keep fighting!Sources used:https://epguides.com/Supernatural/ (for dates of episodes)https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1222609/?ref_=ttep_ep_22 https://supernaturalwiki.com/4.22_Lucifer_Rising_(transcript) https://www.historicmysteries.com/history/hell-house-college/34180/ https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/st-mary-s-college https://supernatural.fandom.com/wiki/Lucifer_Rising https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=PersqueeterThe Shining opening credits: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9spGH0YMkj8 Email us: thewitchesofletters@gmail.comSubscribe and follow us on socials:Find us on Instagram Find us on ThreadsSupport the show by leaving a review and a 5 star rating wherever you listen, and sharing the episode with a friend. You can find Wally on socials.
