Jesus calls his disciples to be careful how we listen. We can take a casual approach to the gift of hearing the Word of God, and it can have even detrimental effects if not stewarded well. King Saul’s sin seemed much more benign than King David’s grievous sins, yet God declared David to be a man after His own heart. Today’s sermon looks at how God sees a man’s flaws but also how He sees a man’s heart. David’s heart belonged to God, and our heart can as well.
Every Christian waits for the fulfillment of the promises of God. Sometimes we face disappointments while we wait, but today’s Scripture reminds us that God will always be faithful, and we will find Him when we search for Him with all our heart.
