Florist (WITH A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!) EXCLUSIVE!!! Now, we hear what’s next for the band, as Frankie, Mike, Kevin, and Jer have a huge announcement as to what 2026 will bring for Florist, on this latest episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E6).  I am so excited for the guys and for our listeners to hear what’s next for this killer band and these amazing humans. Please check out Florist and enjoy our chat.
(S3E5) – Kal-El (Vol. 2)   On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E5), we celebrate with Ståle and Bjørn from Kal-El their landing at the number one spot on the Doom Charts 2025 Top 100 list! Their amazing record, Astral Voyager Vol. 1, took that top spot and it could not be more deserving. They, and we, don’t stop there; on March 20th, 2026 Astral Voyager Vol. 2 drops, via Blues Funeral in the States and Majestic Mountain world wide. We discussed the new record and a whole lot more. It was an honor to have one of my favorite bands on the show the first time we chatted, and even more now that they came back.  The boys are on their way to the top of the charts for 2026 given how killer Volume 2 is, so go pre order it and then listen to our interview!
(S3E4) – Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E4), we have the honor of having Tim Coutts-Smith, the mastermind behind the amazing Australian band Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows, join us all the way from Melbourne. Tim and the band have a killer new record dropping on February 6th via Magnetic Eye titled Inexorable Opposites and it is their best work yet. We discuss the new record, the blurring line between Tim and Jack, being a band in Australia, why this record sounds different from their past work,  and how his work in the mental health field helped sculpt the new songs.  I can’t wait for people to hear the new record and for you all to check out our interview.
(S3E3) – Hot Ram On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E3), we speak to Billy Konkel from the Atlanta heavy-as-hell power trio Hot Ram, who will be releasing their first new music in 5 years in the form of the EP Near Fall, which is dropping on Jan. 30th and is killer stuff. We talk about the new music as well as the band history, the meaning behind the new EP title, how Hot Ram’s sound has evolved, chat about wrestling a bit, and we even get our first Madonna story. Go pre-order Near Fall on glorious gold vinyl then come listen to our discussion.
(S3E2) – Dune Aurora On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E2), we speak to the Turin, Italy trio Dune Aurora! Ginny, Serena, and Roberta joined us to talk about that new record, the history of the band, touring, influences, harmonies, and so much more. The record is great, so please go check it out then come listen to the interview!!!
Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E1) – Fest Chat w/ S. Patrick Brooks, Jason Doome, and Braun Dabney Season Three kicks off with a bang, as we have three folks crazy enough to have and/or are currently curating a Heavy Underground live festival. I am fascinated by this topic, so I thought why not bring on some peeps who are right in the thick of it. First, we have Jason Doome, who will be presenting the third edition of Grand Rapids Doom Fest in 2026, with details to be released soon. We also have Braun Dabney, who will also be presenting the third edition of his fest, Legalize Lex, April 17 & 18 of 2026, with another killer lineup that keeps making this a must attend event. Finally, the new guy, S. Patrick Brooks, who will debut HUFR Fest in Denver April 24-26 with an amazing set of bands. This chat was informative, crazy, off the rails, and at times hilarious, so you get it all in Episode 1 of Season 3.  Please check it out and buy tickets to these amazing events. Support local music and buy physical merch so these guys and the bands keep doing their thing.

We recap a strong Q4 as well. Please check it out and have a great holiday season!!! Thank you to all our listeners!!!
(S2E99) – Chad Ross (Quest For Fire, Comet Control, Deadly Snakes, C.Ross) On the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E99),  we chat with someone I have been a huge fan of for a long time, even if I didn’t realize it, Chad Ross. Chad be involved in so many great projects, from the amazing Quest For Fire records, the three killer Comet Control albums, as part of the garage rock duo The Deadly Snakes, his solo material under the name Nordic Nomadic, and now, and one of the main topics of our discussion, his new record and second under the C.Ross moniker, Future Site Of C. Ross, brought to us by Echodelick Records. You need to check this one out, then come back to listen to the interview, as we cover so many fun topics.
(S2E96) – Bygone (Chris Corry) You may know Chris Corry from the defunct but still killer Boston band Magic Circle. Now Chris is back with a new project, which is the topic of the latest episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E96), where we talk all things Bygone, his new band on Svart Records that just dropped their debut today. I grabbed the Bygone demo tape from 2022 and expected big things, but I did not expect a record that just landed in my top 20 for 2025 and that I gave a perfect score to in my review for Musipedia Of Metal. We talk about the band and the record and find a musical connection with Chris. Bands like Uriah Heep, BOC, UFO, and Kiss during The Elder period, come up (those bands are also what the new record sounds like…oh the guitars and synths just rule) and so much more. The new Bygone record should be the first thing you listen to today, then come back and listen to our really fun chat.
(S2E97) – Stone Nomads Boy, does Ripple Music know how to pick'em, and on this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E97), we talk to another band that is the perfect example of this, as the killer heavy trio out of Houston, Texas, Stone Nomads, joins the show.  The band just released their third record, Empires of Stone, and it crushes. Jon and Jude talk to us about the new record, what it’s like having new drummer Ben in the band, playing live, and to Rich’s delight the conversation goes down a hardcore/punk rabbit hole. There are also some takes on Kyuss that may have people asking us questions, but you will have to listen to find out. Jon and Jude were awesome to spend so much time as we could have kept chatting for hours, so please come listen and check out Empires Of Stone ASAP.
(S2E96) – Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin One of the things I love about doing this show is learning about the bands that we dig when we know nothing about them other than their music. On this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E96), we talk to a band who we have loved for a while, but really knew little about, and one with an air of mystery behind them, San Diego’s Aunt Cynthia’s Cabin. This interview came about because the trio are re-releasing their 2020 classic, Misty Woman, for the first time in a long time on vinyl, via the amazing Black Throne Productions and we want to get the word out. This chat was so much fun as we laughed, we learned stuff, and really got to know the minds behind the killer desert psych rock the trio brings.  Brennan, Anthony, and Jeremy were so cool to give us so much time to just hang out talking ACC and other stuff.  Go preorder Misty Woman, track down the new Miramar Sessions EP, and then come hang with us.
(S2E95) – Elk Witch It seems like a good chunk of bands we talk to are from Oregon, and for good reason, too. While not from Portland, the band on this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E95), Elk Witch, is just as killer as their fellow Beaver State brethren, whose output thus far has been loved by the hosts of this show.  We had all three members of the trio on the show to discuss their career so far and what’s up next for the band, which we are very excited for. If you have not heard Elk Witch’s stuff before, waste no more time and go check them out, then please come back and listen to our interview.
(S2E94) – Planet Desert Rock VI Preview w/John Gist On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E94), scene legend and Grand Poobah of one of the most important and exciting events of the year for us Heavy Underground fans, Planet Desert Rock, John Gist joins the show.  The destination event is back, January 28 - February 1, 2026 with 20 bands from all over the globe, including Spaceslug, Atomic Bitchwax, Westing, Freedom Hawk, Bask, High Desert Queen, Isaak, and so many more all come to take over Las Vegas once again for the 6th edition of the fest. We talk about the bands and the event, running a festival and booking a show of this size and scope and the expectations that go along with it, John’s dream band fest get, and so much more. If you can be at The Usual Place in Vegas the last weekend of January buy your tickets now, then go listen to our chat.
(S2E93) – Year Of October On this episode of The Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E93), we have two thirds of the Nashville trio Year Of October, who recently released their 6th album of soulful fuzzy rock, titled I've Given You Everything, that happens to be excellent. Phlecia and Josh Sullivan talk to us about all sorts of cool stuff about the band, the new record, playing live, Stephen King, cats, and so much more. On this last Bandcamp Friday of the year, show some love to this awesome band and all the other ones out there who make the music we love and need our support.  Please check out Year Of October and then come listen to the interview.
(S2E92) – Ritual Arcana We are so lucky here at R&T HHH Headquarters, as we have had the legend himself, Wino, on the show not once, but now twice, because on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E92), we talk to both Wino and his better half, SharLee LuckyFree, who make up two thirds of the killer new band Ritual Arcana, who will be releasing their self-titled debut record via Heavy Psych Sounds on January 23, 2026 and whoa boy are you all in for a treat. We talk to Wino and SharLee about the new record, how the songs came to be, what it’s like playing in a band as a married couple, how they found their drummer, Oakley Munson, of Black Lips fame, the influence living in the Catskill Mountains has on the band, and so much more. You are going to be blown away by Ritual Arcana and this interview is a nice teaser for what’s to come.  Please check it out!
(S2E91) – Burning Sister On the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E91), we talk to the king and queen of Mile High Downer Rock, Steve and Alison from Denver band Burning Sister! The duo recently released their new record, Ghosts, their first as a two piece, and it is excellent. We discuss the new record, what it has been like transitioning from a trio, enjoying Denver in all of its glory, and both the bands Low and Steel Pole Bathtub get mentioned multiple times, much to Rich’s delight. If you don’t know Burning Sister, change that ASAP then come check out our chat.
(S2E90) – Zebulon If you like your doom to be heavy, Trouble-worshiping awesomeness with a unique flare then you need to check out the debut record from Norway’s Zebulon, Come Day Of Reckoning, then listen to the interview we did with Oddmund, Torstein, and Kristian on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E90). We talk all about their debut, how the band came together, their history playing in other bands and genres, and so much more. Please check it out!
(S2E89) – Rattlesnake Venom Trip On the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour, we have Kevin Schindel and Shane Shook from the Dayton, Ohio heavy rock dealers Rattlesnake Venom Trip join the show. The guys sat down with Rich to discuss their upcoming EP, Eclipse The Sun, and their 2022 full length, Dead Empire, that if you missed you need to go grab ASAP. We also talk about influences, origins, what’s next, and everything else about the band. Rich’s terrible interview prep means he had no idea the hardcore band the guys were in back in the day that he was a big fan of, so you can watch him as this reveal happens in real time.  Since the band is from Dayton, of course Guided By Voices questions were asked as well.  Check out Rattlesnake Venom Trip…huge things to come from these guys!!!
(S2E88) – Temptress (full band!) When it was announced that the American band Temptress signed to Blues Funeral I reached out to bassist/vocalist Christian Wright to come on the show to discuss signing to one of the best labels in the heavy underground and what’s next for the band given this big news. Well, what’s next is a 2026 album of the year candidate in the form of album number two, Hear, that drops on January 23, 2026. Christian is back, and this time brought his bandmates Andi Cuba (drums/vocals) and Kelsey Wilson (Guitars/Vocals) for the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S2E88). Come check out our chat about Hear and how it’s going to blow your mind, as well as a bunch of other cool stuff.
