(S3E26) – Restless Spirit I love Restless Spirit for lots of reasons, not just because they are from my birthplace of Long Island, but it sure makes it even more fun when we chat with Paul Aloisio about all things RS like we do on the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E26). The new self titled Restless Spirit record drops on May 8th via Magnetic Eye and dare I say it is their best yet. Paul gives us the skinny on the new record and so much more, all with a beautiful Long Island backyard backdrop. If you have not preordered the new record, go do that, then come and listen to our discussion.  Restless Spirit rules…
(S3E25) – Abrams We have had Zach Amster from the Denver, Colorado band Abrams on the show before for a lot of reasons, but mostly because his band rules and he is a great guy to chat about music with. So, we would have him on any time really, but for the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E25) Zach joins us to talk about Abrams new album, Loon, that drops on April 17th via Blues Funeral Recordings (if you're not a PostWax member you should really change that ASAP), and of course you know it is amazing. Turbo calls it the band’s “breakout record” and I sure can’t disagree with that. We cover all the stuff about Loon and so much more.  Zach is great, Abrams rules, Loon is an AOTY candidate, so yeah, you should probably check out our chat.
(S3E24) – Bronco Forte On the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E24) Los Angeles band Bronco Forte joins the show! Chris, Jen and Sako spent time with us to discuss their debut full length album, Lightning Scars, which dropped on April 3rd and whoa boy is it killer. We talk about the new record, how it differs from their 2023 EP, the recording and mixing process, where the band draws influence from, and CATS!!! Go check out Lightning Scars then come back and listen to our chat with Bronco Forte.
(S3E23) – Q1 2026 Review w/ Rob In The ‘Hood Our friend Rob In The ‘Hood returns to the show on the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E23) to recap an amazing start of 2026 with our Q1 review. We count down our top 12 releases so far this year in our usual ragtag way.  Check it out!!!
(S3E22) – Mister Earthbound On the latest episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E22) we have Jason and Walt from the Richmond, Virginia bluesy swamp rockers Mister Earthbound join the show! The band just recently dropped their latest EP, Ostara, which is the first of a series of four seasonal inspired EPs that we discuss in our chat, as well as a bunch of other stuff, including Turbo coining a new genre. Check out Mister Earthbound if you have not, then come back and check out our interview!!!
(S3E21) – Elder I am so excited that we were able to get Nick DiSalvo, main man of one of the greatest bands on earth, Elder, to join the show on the day they announce the preorder and drop the first single from album number seven, Through Zero, via Blues Funeral Recordings.  Come listen to Nick tell us all about it and so much more. PEOPLE, NICK FROM ELDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(S3E20) – Mos Generator (Tony Reed Returns!) We have been so lucky to have so many amazing guests on this show, but the fact that I can say that the legend himself, Tony Reed, is making his third appearance on this episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E20), is amazing. This time, we focus on and deep dive into his amazing band, Mos Generator, from its origin to the latest and even future releases. We cover all sorts of other stuff too and even break a bunch of news around the other killer projects he is associated with. Tony is the best, so please check it out. Thank you Tony Reed and thank you to everyone who listens.
(S3E19) – Witch Ripper There are a bunch of great records dropping on April 10, 2026, but the one that may wind up being my favorite is album number three from Seattle’s metal/prog/sludge juggernaut Witch Ripper! So we here at Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour are pumped to have band founder/guitarist/vocalist Curtis Parker join the show (S3E19)! We talk all about said new album, titled Through The Hourglass, brought to us by Magnetic Eye Records (preorder here) that continues the storyline started on their last record, The Flight After The Fall, that was high up on 2023’s year end list. We talk about details of the new one, how the band writes, why the Mastodon comparison is fair, but lazy, and we get all sorts of proggy. Curtis was great, the new record rules, and our chat was so much fun. Please check it out, and if you would, please subscribe to the channel!
(S3E18) – Gjenferd The Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour love this band’s debut record from 2024, and when their new one, titled Black Smoke Rising, was announced, it was top priority to talk to these guys about their amazing blend of 70s hard rock and prog, all tied together with some killer organ. So on this episode (S3E18), all the way from Bergen, Norway, Gjenferd joins the show!!! Jakob (keyboard/vocals) and Vegard (guitar/vocals) chat with us about the new record, what’s different this time for album two, the band’s origin story, what it’s like hauling Jakob’s equipment, how Vegard juggles two excellent bands (he is in the amazing Kryptograf too), and so much more. Black Smoke Rising rules (I gave it a 10 in my Musipedia of Metal review) so go check it out then please come listen to our discussion.
(S3E17) – SPINA A first for Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E17)! The amazing Bend, Oregon band SPINA played a song live on the show! I love these guys, and not only did they play my favorite song on their new release, EP One, they also chatted with me about the history of the band, their influences, how awesome the Oregon music scene is, and so much more. This was awesome and hopefully the start of having actual music on a Podcast about music.  Please go check Spina’s new, killer EP then come check out the interview!
(S3E16) – New Mexican Doom Cult If you are like me, you woke up on the Friday the January Doom Charts dropped and were somewhat shocked to see what album landed at number one.  Not because it didn’t deserve it, but because of the mystery that surrounds the project. Well, we got you, because on this episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E16), Nils from New Mexican Doom Cult joins us all the way from Gävle, Sweden. Nils was great, giving us the details on that number one record, Ziggurat, and so much more, including details on the (now) full band that includes members of a killer Swedish prog band some of you may know, where Nils gets his writing inspiration from, and we finally solve the mystery of that band name. Please check out Ziggurat then come check out our chat!!!
(S3E15) – SÖNUS On this episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E15), we have the killer trio SÖNUS join the show. The now full band has an absolutely killer record, Planes of Torment,  dropping on May 22 that is going to blow everyone away. If you don’t believe me, go directly to their Bandcamp page and check out the video for the first single, Pagan Woman, and try to tell me otherwise. David, Dave, Colin, Turbo, and I talk about the new record, swords, the making of the video, swords again, acting, The Cult, we break some cool news, and so much more.  Planes of Torment will be on your end of year list, so get in early, check out the video, then come and listen to our interview.
Chuck Robinson (Trouble, Eric Wagner, Kulvera) Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge Trouble fan, so to say it was an honor for Turbo and I to have Chuck Robinson on the show would be a major understatement.  Chuck spent some time in Trouble and in Eric Wagner’s solo band, and developed a great friendship with Eric over the years. Chuck was also instrumental in helping Ripple Music put out Eric’s last recorded song, now available on 7” and it is a beautiful way to honor Eric’s musical legacy, one of the main topics of this episode. Chuck had so many great stories to tell about back in the day with Trouble and his other work, but we are also looking to the future, discussing his new project that you will be hearing more about, Kulvera. Eric’s work means so much to me, and Chuck was so gracious with his time talking about so much great stuff..  Please check it out.
(S3E13) – New Dawn Fades I have been chatting with George Chamberlin (aka GFA) for years now, since his time as lead singer in Ritual Earth and right about the time he was dropping his solo project EP, titled Forever, under the name New Dawn Fades. Those four songs blew me away and showed so much potential for more. Today, we talk about that potential realized, as on this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E13), we have GFA and part of the New Dawn Fades full band experience as drummer Steve Roche and bassist Algar join to talk about the debut full-length record, LORES, that drops on March 25th and is ready for preorder now. We also cover influences, the Philadelphia scene, how this version of the band came together, and so much more. New Dawn Fades will be playing the Rich & Turbo HHH sponsored Tampa Doom and Gloom III, with an amazing set of bands over three days in November. Check all of this out!!!
(S3E12) – Riastrad On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E12), we have all four members of the Portland, Oregon doom band Riastrad join the show to discuss their new, killer, self-titled album that just dropped on February 6th. This is a must listen for all doom fans and for anyone who just loves heavy music, especially with out of this world vocals that Paige Parker delivers on these songs. We talk about the new record, the Portland scene, influences, and all of that good stuff. Paige, Damion, Todd, and Lance are great, so please check out the record then come listen to this!!!
(S3E11) – Hibernaut On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E11), Hibernaut returns to the show, and this time we get all four members. We don’t need any reason to talk to these guys because of how cool they are anyway, but in this case we do, and that is the earthshaking new split album they are releasing with Face Pulp (on the show soon!) via What’s Left Records on March 6th. However, today is Bandcamp Friday, and they just so happen to have some physical versions of the album (vinyl, CD, Taps, Bundles!) ready to preorder right now. SO GO BUY PHYSICAL VERSIONS OF THIS AND ALL THE OTHER BANDS YOU LOVE. Sorry to yell, but I really mean it. We discussed a bunch of other stuff too, including them playing the amazing HUFR Fest (April 24-26, get your tickets now!) The split rules, Hibernaut rules, please check this out.
(S3E10) – Black Lung On this episode of Rich and Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E10), we have Dave Cavalier and Elias Schutzman from Baltimore, Maryland’s Black Lung! The band has a new record dropping on March 6th, 2026 via Magnetic Eye Records titled Forever Beyond, and you really should go pre order it now because it is killer stuff. We talk about how the new record came to be, some of the band’s back story, Rich embarrasses himself with his take on Radiohead but maybe redeems himself a bit with his Beatles input, and guys show they are not shy to share their opinions of the state of the world today.  Listen to the new singles on Forever Beyond then come listen to our discussion.
(S3E9) – Hermano (full band and friends) John Garcia, Dandy Brown, Mike Callahan, David Angstrom, Chris Leathers  w/Rich & Turbo, JJ Koczan (The Obelisk), S. Patrick Brooks (Heavy Underground Farm Report) Tom Robbins (And Now The Band Podcast) All discussing the new live Hermano record, Clisson, France (Live at Hellfest 2016) from Ripple Music, dropping on February 6,  and so much more.  We are eternally grateful for everyone who took the time to talk with us and those who will listen. Thank you!!!
(S3E8) – Cabfighter Sometimes an album and/or a band sneaks up on you. A band that has an air of mystery about them, or one that creates something that you are so enthralled with you just need to know all about it.  This is how I feel about the January release, The Sea Between Stars, from Portland’s Cabfighter. So for this episode of Rich & Turbo’s Heavy Half Hour (S3E8), Barry, Logan, and Shasta join the show to talk about all things Cabfighter, that amazing new record, and so much more.  Please listen past some of our technical issues, because Cabfighter and The Sea Between Stars needs to be seen and heard.
(S3E7) – Gravehuffer Sometimes I need to scratch that crossover thrash crust punk itch, and the way I do it is by listening to all of the killer stuff from the band on the latest episode of the Rich & Turbo Heavy Half Hour (S3E7), Gravehuffer! Ritchie Randall joins the show to discuss all things Gravehuffer, including the progress on the new record, taking the band out on the road, where all their killer music comes from, the band’s history, and so much more. Ritchie is great, and if you need a soundtrack to forgetting all your troubles and ripping it up, Gravehuffer is for you.  Check it out!
