Without a clear motive or understanding of why this crime occurred, the smallest pieces of evidence provide the biggest breakthroughs in a case. Unfortunately, despite it being featured in multiple films and television series, as well as a best-selling true crime book, the victims in this case have never been the focus of the narrative. It’s a tragic case and proves just how callous and cold-hearted some people can be. This case was fascinating to research due to the amount of information out there in the public domain, but as always, we're placing the emphasis firmly where it should be, and that's with the victims. This case occurred around Barking & Dagenham. Within the space of 15 months, the bodies of four young men would be found, all under the age of 25, three of which were all discovered in the same location, within a 500 yard radius. With seemingly no links between the victims, this made for a complicated case... Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Today’s case was a murder case of a child, in broad daylight. As with any case, it’s a murder which should never have happened, but this case was particularly harrowing as it was simply a boy who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, shattering the lives of his family and those involved forever more. This tragedy sparked the launch of a charity - Liverpool Unites - by the ECHO, which raised £100,000 to build a community centre in Croxteth. The Rhys Jones Complex was launched in August 2013 and helps hundreds of children every week. You can support the charity here...https://rhysjonescommunitycentre.org.uk/ Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

What is also so incredibly heart-breaking, is that she was just about to start a new adventure in life... The murder of Ann Maguire was a tragic loss for friends, family and a huge community of those who's life Ann had touched. What is most unbelievable in this case, is that her violent murder was committed by one of her 15 year old students, while she taught a lesson. The Ann Maguire Arts Educational Fund, set up in May 2014, has provided bursaries and funding through music, drama, language and dance – all subjects that were close to Ann’s heart.
