Nebraska football is nearly two-thirds of the way through its spring football practice season. On Wednesday, we heard from coach Matt Rhule, assistants Daikiel Shorts and Addison Williams and Huskers Jamir Conn, Donovan Jones and Kwazi Gilmer. Gilmer, the UCLA transfer at wide receiver, is fun. His presence rates as a plus for Nebraska. We review Gilmer’s media session.  Rhule continued with his subdued approach to the spring. Nebraska is more than halfway through spring football practice. Can you believe it? The Huskers have taken a low-key approach to the spring this year. With one newcomer, though, offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen can’t hold back. Anthony Colandrea is unlike any quarterback that Holgorsen has coached. We’re here on this Monday, a little late but full of breaking news. Nebraska has extended basketball coach Fred Hoiberg through 2031-32 after his team finished the regular season with a stirring victory at Pinnacle Bank Arena on Sunday against Iowa. It went to overtime. Sam Hoiberg and Cale Jacobsen starred in the closing minutes. All was well in Lincoln as the Huskers moved into the postseason with 26 wins.  In the arena, tension was thick. Nebraska basketball has a big night ahead. The ninth-ranked Huskers head into Pauley Pavilion on Tuesday to face UCLA, which has played much better than its bubble-team status at home this season.
