Description

A fun, amateur podcast about the hit real-time strategy game StarCraft 2 and its strategies known as “cheeses”, especially directed at new players. Cheese strategies are controversial: they’re unconventional and risky, but can be devastating and infuriating for its victims. Even if you don’t want to use cheese strategies, you need to know what to do when they’re used on you. If you do, you’ll come to love cheese, and enjoy the game even more.

Professor Phi, Battling Bard, and Space Camel explore a highly unusual Zerg cheese: the Nydus Swarm Host Rush. We also argue over a recent balance patch.
Colnel2000 joins Space Camel in a special episode where we look into what StarCraft 2 players can learn from the 1600-year-old game of Chess.
Space Camel is joined by Eel Cezno to discuss the staple Protoss Strategy: Skytoss. Maybe it shouldn't be considered a "cheese" strategy, as it definitely isn't fast. But it is a solid strategy many new--and even mid-level-- players struggle to deal with, and certainly merits learning about. Join Eel Cezno and Space Camel as we open your mind to new ways to think about the giant Protoss air army: Skytoss! Also, we play a few rounds of "Void Rays, Tempests, Carriers" for the half-time show. Lastly, we end it off listening to the original song "Flight of the Skytoss" by suno.com, also freely available here: https://suno.com/song/1ea62722-ba21-4309-94f3-5e761d63139e Enjoy!
Battling Bard joins Space Camel to discuss the truly nefarious-and-often-infuriating Cannon Rush. Half-Time show is a joke and story about a martial arts newb who trolled a prestigious competition and won by abusing the rules.
DocLobster joins Space Camel (while Professor Phi puts a kid to bed) to discuss the basic 2-barracks proxy bunker rush. We finish the episode with an AI-generated song for each podcast episode. You can also listen the full songs at https://suno.com/playlist/c05d5f93-2b84-4af1-89bf-3527821c19a6
Space Camel shares his 8-stalkers-at-4-minute rush which is especially effective at fellow Protoss players, but generally good for punishing greedy opponents. We also talk about the buzz regarding the “SC: Evolution” mod which lets SC1 players face-off against SC2 in the same game. It’s a bit early to tell, but SC1 + SC2 must just equal SC3! (Custom closing song, “Warp and Destroy” by Suno.com)
Space Camel shares his SCCV, we talk Baneling busts, listen to a theme song for the show generated by AI (suno.com), play “How many Banelings does that take?” and pontificate on why cheeses improve the StarCraft experience.
The Space Camel is joined by Zerg Diamond League player Professor Phi to discuss the quintessential Zergling Rush. We also hear about Professor Phi’s SCCV (Starcraft Curriculum Vitae), listen to supposedly unused audio for Zerglings by the same voice actor as the WarCraft 2 peon/grunt, and compare StarCraft to Tetris, Chess, and Poker.
Figuring out how podcasting works. Just space camel doing a monologue about worker rushes and why I think they’re actually a good way for new players to figure out the game, or at least get some revenge on a more experienced friend who’s given them a handicap.
