Description

When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it—"it" being our mental health and well being. Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the pandemic and has been struggling with her own mental health ever since. Tay is joined co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness. At the end of the day, we're all pretty similar; even those living in the lime-est of lights can be weighed down by sour lemons. In addition to sharing coping strategies and stories, we hope that above all, this podcast offers the comfort of knowing you are not alone.

In this week’s episode, Tay sits down with pastor and author Chelsea Smith! Chelsea opens up about the stigma that still exists around couples therapy and marriage counseling, and how her long-running Marriage Mondays tips on Instagram ultimately inspired her to write her book I Do Today. Together, they talk through how Tay and Taylor handle conflict in their own marriage, why striving for an enjoyable marriage matters more than chasing a perfect one, and how setting boundaries with social media can protect intimacy and connection. Chelsea also shares her perspective on teamwork in marriage, how competitiveness can quietly sneak in, and what couples can do to focus on sharing instead of comparing. They explore how partners can promote individuality, what has surprised Chelsea most about marriage, and what truly matters at the core of a strong, lasting relationship!Be sure to follow Chelsea https://instagram.com/chelseasmith/!Buy I Do Today here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0310370752/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_37Z2NDAJQ1XKAQYCWJKP?linkCode=ml1&tag=kristincrosby-20&linkId=8b365c930429610a13733797d81d6166&fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMjU2MjgxMDQwNTU4AAGntHq4NWOCTnEq8A7xOQ9s31gEvGEwBbojyFqpi26yVtTEzWrixCtoEvNpBgM_aem_eMv0wGXketWtiVREv2rvRATo email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.comBe sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode! Maddie talks about the internal dialogue that helps her mentally commit to big tricks, along with the role therapy and sports psychology have played in her growth. She reflects on how her definition of success has shifted over time, what led her to shave her head, and how that decision changed the way she sees herself. Maddie also gets candid about leaving a toxic coaching relationship, the moment she realized something was deeply wrong, and how naming that emotional abuse completely transformed her relationship with snowboarding. In this week’s episode, Tay is joined by Brylee Armstrong for another girl-talk conversation! Brylee opens up about growing up as a dancer (though not in the ballroom world) and shares the story of how she and Brandon Armstrong first met. She talks about the unique experience of marrying someone who lives so publicly, and what it’s been like adjusting to a life split between Utah and Los Angeles. Brylee walks us through the reality of packing up every year when the Dancing with the Stars season begins, the constant moving, long hours, and how she and Brandon make their relationship work through it all. She also reflects on why she started sharing her life online, how she chooses what to keep private, and the boundaries that protect her peace. Tay and Brylee talk about finding their own identities outside of their husbands, the misconceptions people often have about them as a couple, and the self-care practices that keep her grounded when everything feels overwhelming!Be sure to follow Brylee https://instagram.com/bryleearmstrong_/!To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.comBe sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode! TW: Suicide AttemptIn this week’s episode, Tay sits down with fitness instructor, mental health advocate, and former Peloton star Kendall Toole! Kendall opens up about how she first began teaching for Peloton, why she ultimately chose to leave, and the vision behind her new venture, the NKO Club app (including the meaning behind its name). She shares what it’s like to navigate fitness both as a passion and a profession, along with her deeply personal mental health journey that began with childhood OCD and later included a day when she came close to ending her life — and the reason she didn’t follow through. Kendall talks about what healing looked like in the aftermath, the grounding tools she relies on when anxiety or overwhelm creep in, and how her relationship with her mental health has evolved over the years. In this week’s episode, Tay sits down with dancer, choreographer, and Dancing with the Stars pro Alan Bersten! Alan shares everything from how young he was when he first fell in love with dance to the moment he realized he wanted to pursue it professionally. He reflects on his early days on So You Think You Can Dance, how many years he’s now been part of Dancing with the Stars, and what it was like learning how to teach complete non-dancers. Alan also opens up about going public with his relationship with Emma Slater, navigating online opinions, and setting boundaries with social media — especially while working on a show with such a massive digital presence. He talks about partnering with Elaine Hendrix this season, the injury that kept her out of the Halloween episode, his favorite dance of the season, the styles he loves and least loves to teach, and the self-care rituals that help him reset after long rehearsal days. In this week’s episode, Tay is joined by Dancing with the Stars pro Britt Stewart and her husband, actor Daniel Durant! This marks the first time The Squeeze has ever had an interpreter on the podcast, helping bridge the conversation between Britt, who is hearing, and Daniel, who is deaf. The two share how their partnership on DWTS grew into a romantic relationship — from Britt learning ASL to communicate with Daniel to how she taught him dance and rhythm in completely new ways. They open up about their wedding, Daniel’s upbringing and growing up with his aunt, and the misconceptions they wish more people understood about the deaf community. Britt reflects on her journey in dance, what it means to be the first Black female pro on DWTS, and how the entertainment industry can become more inclusive for all. They also talk about supporting each other’s representation, their biggest self-care and mental health tools, and what they’re most proud of — in themselves and in each other.Be sure to follow Britt https://instagram.com/brittbenae/ and Daniel https://instagram.com/danielndurant/!To email us your questions or share your story, you can reach out to lautner.thesqueezepodcast@gmail.comBe sure to rate, review, and follow the podcast so you don't miss an episode!
