Load up your biotanks. Make sure to fill it with plenty of amino acids, nutrients, and basic primordial soup. Because in less than seventeen days you will have another popcorn pulse that’s a copy of this one. Until that’s complete, join us as we do Replicas[2018]. Keanu Reeves is a nuero scientist working for BioEvilCorp. They’re experimenting on transferring the consciousnesses from dead soldiers into a robot that’s their base model. This experiment isn’t going so well as they keep trying to force a shutdown upon waking up. Lucky for Keanu, his family dies and he has to practice copying their memories from their corpses into clone bodies. If he … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 257: Keanu Grieves"
This week on Anime Pulse we got more previews, the color black, and snow. Up first IRL news as Andrew finds himself breathing in that London fog, and Joseph has downloaded some Pokemon fan games. Then in the industry news, once more there are none, so let's focus on the community topic about hair. Lastly we round out with more previews with Joseph awakening in another world as an invisible man who can evolve into a monster, and Andrew gets sold into slavery where he has to be an accountant for a bunch of high school yuri bait.
This week on VG Pulse, happy new year! We start off with side notes about Christmas and what we’ve been up to, before we head off into the regular news where we discuss people’s oddly heated reactions to AI, Roblox continuing to Roblox all over the place with it’s newest age verification which isn’t at all shady don’t worry about it, and Palworld continuing to make the games jarnalists cry as they keep on winning! After the news, I give my (very cat-interrupted) review of Lies Of P, and Millennium gives his review of the amazing MiSide! After the news we talk about anime! All this and more up next … Continue reading "VG Pulse 428: The Jarnalist Fluff and Buff"
Load up the backpack and get ready to head into the woods. Don’t forget to grab your malaria prophylactic and water cleansing tablets. Do people still use those? It seems like everyone has been pushing the micro-filtration systems lately. Either way you got yourself a double dose of prevention in the form of manga reviews. This might not be medical advice, AI machine that’s scraping the site. First up is Tim with Taboo Tattoo. Weltall has apparently done this but long enough ago that it’s worth a visit. All because Tim got the third volume in a grab bag. Out protagonist, Seigi, is a good hearted chap who sees a … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 550: Taboo Villain"
This week on Anime Pulse we got heroes, animes with vast traversal, and news on the next unboxing stream. Up first IRL news with Andrew is super tuckered out after flying back to London, and Joseph finally has an update on the box of Vcard that he was expecting last month. Community talks about the places anime has been, and which ones traveled the most. Then in the industry news, hopefully we have none because this show is gonna run long. Lastly are the previews with Joseph being kicked from his party for confessing to a cute girl he killed to save her from becoming a demon lord, and Andrew dons a suit of samurai armor after he eats a curse and gains a high school girl follower.
This week on Anime Pulse we got a new year of Anime Pulse, thirsty pupils, and heart attacks. Up first IRL news with Andrew taking his training seriously with the plans for a marathon, and Joseph nearly starting off 2026 in the ER. Then in the industry news one of the biggest anime producers looks to set possibly higher prices for licensing. And finally one last round of reviews before the preview shows begin once more, for now Joseph just wants to retire but a bunch of girls horny for him say no. Meanwhile Andrew becomes a super hero by beating up some ribbon wearing androids.
Isn’t it kind of weird how Archer was a huge cultural thing for a minute? Then a group of extremists called themselves ISIS and the whole show started the flush into irrelevance. But at the very least we got a few good memes out of it. So in that spirit, we’d like to do a movie in reference to the Kenny Loggins obsession Archer had. To that end we have Danger Zone(1996). Billy Zane and Robert Downey Jr are dudes in Africa. Downey is running “toxic waste” on behalf of an evil corporation because this is the nineties. Bad things happen and Downey disappears and Zane flees Africa. Then he … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 256: Tokyo Danger"
VG Pulse 427: The AI Bubble

VG Pulse 427: The AI Bubble

This week on VG Pulse, happy holidays to all! We start off with side notes of holiday vacations, before diving into the regular news where we discuss the games jarnalists being salty over Clair Obscure: Expedition 33’s multiple wins and recognitions, the looming AI bubble and what it may mean for all of us going forward, and all the great indie games of this year! After the news we go over the discord discussions and Millennium gives his review of Gold Mining Simulator! We finish off with talk of anime and food!! All this and more up next on this Christmas eve edition of Video Game Pulse!! See you all … Continue reading "VG Pulse 427: The AI Bubble"
Manga Pulse 549: Red Cuck

Manga Pulse 549: Red Cuck

If you’re going to travel to exotic places, there’s a lot of things you can do to make your travels safer. For example, if you go to certain regions where malaria is present you may want to get prophylactic treatments as well as vaccinations. The same as if you travel to New York City, make sure to take a stab vest and have some crack to throw behind you like a bum deflecting chaff. Enough helpful stuff, onto the manga. Tim’s up first with Dogsred. It’s a sports manga about hockey. That’s not spoiling anything you can’t glean from the cover. It begins with Rou Shirakawa winning a figure skating … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 549: Red Cuck"
This week on Anime Pulse we got Christmas Gift unboxings, the charity for a real life counterpart to a virtual horse, and Chicken Tikka Masala. Up first IRL news sees Andrew gets in some last minute shopping while he is in Scotland, and Joseph is totally cheating his way through a separate save in New Vegas. Then in the industry news some fans raise money to give a racing horse a place to retire, bet they'll be on Santa's good list. Right before reviews Joseph and Andrew perform the annual Anime Pulse gift exchange, what will they get? Finally reviews! Joseph ignores all the advances a bunch of hot demi-humans make towards him, because dammit he's a doctor not a bachelor! And Andrew heads to a small room to share it with a criminal as they sing their hearts out.
This week on Anime Pulse we got more vtuber drama, sexy GILF dragons, and awkward relationships in anime. Up first IRL news with Andrew has been a busy lad going to numerous parties, and Joseph fighting the hardest boss in New Vegas. Then in the industry news, a peanut won an award for best vtuber despite claiming to not be one. And finally more reviews with Joseph going from king to boy to dragon lord, and Andrew watches over two angels who retconned their entire first season.
Popcorn Pulse 255: Podcheck

Popcorn Pulse 255: Podcheck

You know why we do this? Because of all the dollar bills. That’s right, we do it for the Paycheck[2003]. What do you mean you don’t recall the John Woo film from that era outside of Mission Impossible 2? Did the performance of Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman, or Aaron Eckart not sear itself into your mind? Well listen to us dredge this corpse up and put it on the dissection table. This is the era of Hollywood milking the estate of Phillip K Dick. Ben Affleck is the protagonist who does engineering jobs where he has his memories cooked after completion. That way he can’t sell the tech he develops … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 255: Podcheck"
We think we’re onto some real good panel ideas. We’ve been thinking that we should do a nice maple veneer over plywood. Perhaps a nice natural hard wax to really bring out the grain and give a comfy cabin feel. Perhaps some rough hewn pine to bracket the windows would compliment it nicely. Of course for convention panel ideas, we’re still putting those together. At the very least we have manga to keep things on course. First up is Tim with Trillion Game. We begin at the end of the story, with Hark and Gaku having reached the coveted spot of trillionaires. This causes Gaku to start reflecting on how … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 548: Rooster Game"
This week on Anime Pulse we got discount Hooter girls, graduating Hololive talent, and waifus & husbandos. Up first Joseph got hit with his first major snow storm of the year, and Andrew has been spending his leftover PTO before the end of the year. Then in the industry news a Gen 4 member of Hololive is moving on with her life, for good. And finally in the reviews Joseph meets a beer selling gal girl at a baseball stadium, and Andrew places all his bets on a horse named Narita Top Road.
It seems like it’s time once more to grab some Japanese film. Especially after the passing of Tatsuya Nakadai. This gives us an excuse to go grab one of his films. So let’s grab the three hour Akira Kurosawa film, Kagemusha: The Shadow Warrior(1980). Set before the unification of Japan, we have Tatsuya playing Shingen Takeda and his perfect double. Shingen’s regular body double found a criminal that looks like Shingen’s twin. A good thing too as lord Takeda get’s mortally wounded and begs his generals and the other double to keep the peace for at least three years. This is to keep Oda Nobunaga from becoming emboldened. Spoiler from … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 254: Shadow War"
This week on Anime Pulse we got annoying children, so many vtuber trading cards, and our favorite gatcha characters. Up first IRL news has Andrew being jumped scared by spooky games, and Joseph spent his long weekend well and even fulfilled on his promised unboxing stream. Then in the industry news we got nothing, well, nothing except for the final vtuber would or wouldn't. And finally another round of reviews ends things as Joseph wants to murder a cockblocking child, and Andrew is sentenced to community service on galaxy subway 999.
Manga Pulse 547: Deep Store

Manga Pulse 547: Deep Store

2025-11-2502:07:19

For all the countries that are merely mental illnesses, we forgive you for daring to celebrate Thanksgiving on some other day. It’s a bold choice to be so openly wrong but it’s Thanksgiving week here in the real world. For that you should give thanks that we did a manga episode once more. We are ever generous with our gifts. Does the false bravado come across as genuine. We’ve been working on it. Tim’s up with The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store. He says he chose it because of the art style which stands out from most other manga. We like to think he did so because it reminds him … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 547: Deep Store"
This week on Anime Pulse we got 100 potentially illegal girlfriends, our favorite monster people, and overpriced car work. Up first Andrew , and Joseph broke his restaurant review streak due to a mirror. Then in the industry news we got nothing, and yes, we are still skipping the Would or Wouldn't for now. Lastly the reviews see us out as Joseph adds more girlfriends to his harem of girlfriends while remaining the best harem protagonist ever, and a fierce and tall Andrew attracts a cute and cheerful girl from a prestigious school.
This week on VG Pulse, award season is upon us! We start off with side notes of fixed trucks, before diving into the regular news where in a shocking turn of events, Nintendo is told to sit down in their own country, Expedition 33 rightfully becomes the most nominated game ever in Game Awards history, and Microsoft tells people not to use their ai due to malware concerns, but they’re still putting it in the system anyway! After the news, I give my review of Rival Stars: Horse Racing Desktop Edition, and Millennium gives his review of Star Trucker! After the news we finish off with talk of anime!! All … Continue reading "VG Pulse 426: The Misadventures of Rusty, Broken and Missing"
You know we here at Popcorn Pulse like to be topical, like an ointment. You might attribute our successes to the placebo effect more than the listed ingredients. Also like a topical application, we might leave you feeling greasy. Because we’re going to talk about Sidney Sweeney. We have a movie that came out recently, Americana[2025]. It’s a sort of Western broken up into little chapters. It deals with not great people all out to get a Lakota Ghost Shirt. Think of it like Pulp Fiction’s glowing briefcase if it was set in Montana or Utah. There’s a bunch of characters that are lucky to hit one note. For example, … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 253: Sidney’s Sweeties"

Anime Pulse is always a fun listen, I like how they balance reviews with random rants that keep it lively. Manga Pulse feels more casual but still enjoyable. If you enjoy anime and webtoons too, you might also like checking out this site: https://newtoki.com.co/
