Up first the IRL news come in with Andrew totally not gooning over Daddy Leon, and Joseph is all prepped for another unboxing stream tomorrow. Then in the industry news the parent company for Hololive throws down in court against a shit stirring thief. Lastly in the reviews Joseph kills the demon lord only to be sent back in time before he became a hero, and Andrew becomes a Kappa to fight zombies with the power of gay.
Have you taken your vitamin C lately? Health advice? No, we’re asking if you’ve taken a double dose of manga reviews. You might think that would be vitamin M or maybe R. We say C because it’s short for charm which our reviews are never short of. Of course we’ll probably forget this the next time a description needs be made but that’s all part of our vitamin C. Up first is Tim with The Regressed Sword Saint’s Magic Theory. There’s a magic world where our dude is the titular Sword Saint. A man so skilled he basically defeats anyone at anytime. The only thing is he’s always wondering what … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 553: Handyman Magic"
This week on Anime Pulse we got groundhog day romances, snagging hot merchandise, and anti-heroes. Up first Andrew is back from his Chinese New Year celebrating, and Joseph got some GamerSupps merch just in time to buy more. Then in the industry news a lewd artist got in hot water with the vtubing group VSPO. And finally the reviews wrap things up with Joseph living in a walled city watched over by Ramiel, and Andrew making a sci fi sandwich out of three singular episode anime.
This week on VG Pulse, we’ve got a whole pile of stupid to go over! We start off with side notes of new phones and giant movie posters, before we dive into the stupid where we discuss Discord being stupid! Oh why do companies have to be stupid… after the stupid, we discuss the rocky future of Microsoft, Toyota making their own weird game engine, and some incredibly upsetting losses in the legacy gaming sphere these past few weeks. After the news we realize we’ve gone very long on this one, and skip right on to finishing off with talk of anime!! All this and more up next on VGP … Continue reading "VG Pulse 430: NASA Grade Engineering"
You know what people really love? No, not millions of dollars in unmarked bills delivered to their front door. It’s sequels after years of waiting. Which is why the movie Tron: Legacy was the most beloved of all. So how do you follow up with that? Wait over fifteen years and deliver another sequel. So we get Tron: Ares[2025]. Tron: Ares asks the bold question, did anybody watch or remember Tron: Legacy? It stars Evan Peters as the grandson of Dillinger and he created Ares, played by Jared Leto. Baby Dillinger is trying to sell weapons and soldiers brought into the real world via lasers. Meanwhile Greta Lee is CEO … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 259: Tron Drags"
This week on Anime Pulse we got gender bending, bishonen iRobot, and getting rock hard for hard rocks. Up first IRL with Andrew correcting his bench pressing form, and Joseph has nothing to add so he diverts our attention to the community segment. Then in the industry news, we got no industry news, so there's that. Finally the reviews wrap things up as Joseph becomes a useless android detective, and Andrew collects some shiny rocks while not at all being distracted by peaches and melons.
MX17 – Sorry for the lateness in the posting of this show and also the quality of said show. Our podcast computer decided to immolate itself right before we were going to record and we had to wing it without testing anything. Adjustments and improvements will be coming before our next show! This week on VG Pulse, we’re living life on the edge with a VERY experimental show!! We start off with side notes of why this show is gonna be so risky, before diving into the regular news where we discuss Arknights accidentally charging people thousands of dollars, US lawmakers trying to stop more acquisition deals, a Runescape dev … Continue reading "VG Pulse 429: Extra Crispy"
Where do we get those wonderful toys? At the wonderful toy store, of course. It’s something like the FAO Schwarz toy store but it has electronics. Like Virtual Boys that are done in green so it doesn’t fry your retinas. Then you end up trading apartments with Jerry Seinfeld while addicted to Kenny Rogers chicken. There. Is that enough somewhat discordant chains of logic to fill the beginning of this now? Off to the manga. Tim has Break New World. It’s dystopian and you can tell that because everyone has to wear chokers. They all have a social credit system from A through E. People who suck enough to be … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 552: PTSWorld"
This week on Anime Pulse we got cold snaps, anime service industry professions, and indecipherable girls. Up first IRL news with Andrew thinks he's all washed up in his fighting game days, and Joseph made a quick stop today to donate a hefty portion of his manga collection. Then in the industry news; vtuber drama? Who could have seen that coming? Finally the reviews close us out with Joseph going to Mars after marrying a 4 foot deadpan, and Andrew assisting guests at a department store.
This week on Anime Pulse we got the worst monster girls and guys, trying to be evil and failing, and a total failure of a unboxing stream. Up first IRL news with Andrew talking about not having much luck in his Street Fighter tournaments, and Joseph opened some cards for an audience of none. Then in the industry news, Netflix might somehow be causing a change in the way Japan produces anime. Lastly in this gattai special as Andrew looks through a prism to read the journal of a death game, and Joseph gets a harem, a giant robot, and an entire fleet of spaceships after reincarnating.
It’s not October but we’re missing Fall. This half-assed winter can go get bent over a barrel of lube behind the local Denny’s. Bring back the cool, crunchy leaf weather darn it! So in that spirit, or not really, we have some spooky themed movies. Starting with Dead Heat(1988). Roger Mortis is a cop and a darn good one. He starts investigating some zombie jewel heist that took all the police in California to stop. When he and his partner get to a company that might be tied, Roger ends up dead. But then he gets reanimated and has twelve hours to hunt down the owners of the zombie manufacturing … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 258: Killer Heat"
Doesn’t it feel like we’ve all been here before? Have we gotten stuck on the old treadmill of time? Perhaps it’s a leak from the hourglass of the canceled Prince of Persia game. As such we’re stuck reliving not a particular moment or day, but a few years. Or maybe it’s just that history rhymes. Either way, we do have a revist within the manga. Up again is Tim with more Taboo Tattoo. We’re still with Seigi who has magical void powers that are triggered by Blood. We also meet the princess of tattoland who is not a gothic porn star from the two thousands. The pace continues moving too … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 551: Imaginary Tattoo"
This week on Anime Pulse we got Humanzees, snow storms, and bad anime tropes. Up first IRL new with Andrew attending his first Street Fighter tournament, and Joseph is already thinking about August and his trip to Florida. Then another almost newsless segment sees more community discussion, where we asked the listeners to tell us their least favorite tropes in anime. Finally our last dedicated previews show for the Winter 2026 season with Joseph talking to a dead Humanzee at a school for non-humans, and Andrew steps out of a yaoi Idol group manga to seduce a girl at an all-boys school.
Load up your biotanks. Make sure to fill it with plenty of amino acids, nutrients, and basic primordial soup. Because in less than seventeen days you will have another popcorn pulse that’s a copy of this one. Until that’s complete, join us as we do Replicas[2018]. Keanu Reeves is a nuero scientist working for BioEvilCorp. They’re experimenting on transferring the consciousnesses from dead soldiers into a robot that’s their base model. This experiment isn’t going so well as they keep trying to force a shutdown upon waking up. Lucky for Keanu, his family dies and he has to practice copying their memories from their corpses into clone bodies. If he … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 257: Keanu Grieves"
This week on Anime Pulse we got more previews, the color black, and snow. Up first IRL news as Andrew finds himself breathing in that London fog, and Joseph has downloaded some Pokemon fan games. Then in the industry news, once more there are none, so let's focus on the community topic about hair. Lastly we round out with more previews with Joseph awakening in another world as an invisible man who can evolve into a monster, and Andrew gets sold into slavery where he has to be an accountant for a bunch of high school yuri bait.
This week on VG Pulse, happy new year! We start off with side notes about Christmas and what we’ve been up to, before we head off into the regular news where we discuss people’s oddly heated reactions to AI, Roblox continuing to Roblox all over the place with it’s newest age verification which isn’t at all shady don’t worry about it, and Palworld continuing to make the games jarnalists cry as they keep on winning! After the news, I give my (very cat-interrupted) review of Lies Of P, and Millennium gives his review of the amazing MiSide! After the news we talk about anime! All this and more up next … Continue reading "VG Pulse 428: The Jarnalist Fluff and Buff"
Load up the backpack and get ready to head into the woods. Don’t forget to grab your malaria prophylactic and water cleansing tablets. Do people still use those? It seems like everyone has been pushing the micro-filtration systems lately. Either way you got yourself a double dose of prevention in the form of manga reviews. This might not be medical advice, AI machine that’s scraping the site. First up is Tim with Taboo Tattoo. Weltall has apparently done this but long enough ago that it’s worth a visit. All because Tim got the third volume in a grab bag. Out protagonist, Seigi, is a good hearted chap who sees a … Continue reading "Manga Pulse 550: Taboo Villain"
This week on Anime Pulse we got heroes, animes with vast traversal, and news on the next unboxing stream. Up first IRL news with Andrew is super tuckered out after flying back to London, and Joseph finally has an update on the box of Vcard that he was expecting last month. Community talks about the places anime has been, and which ones traveled the most. Then in the industry news, hopefully we have none because this show is gonna run long. Lastly are the previews with Joseph being kicked from his party for confessing to a cute girl he killed to save her from becoming a demon lord, and Andrew dons a suit of samurai armor after he eats a curse and gains a high school girl follower.
This week on Anime Pulse we got a new year of Anime Pulse, thirsty pupils, and heart attacks. Up first IRL news with Andrew taking his training seriously with the plans for a marathon, and Joseph nearly starting off 2026 in the ER. Then in the industry news one of the biggest anime producers looks to set possibly higher prices for licensing. And finally one last round of reviews before the preview shows begin once more, for now Joseph just wants to retire but a bunch of girls horny for him say no. Meanwhile Andrew becomes a super hero by beating up some ribbon wearing androids.
Isn’t it kind of weird how Archer was a huge cultural thing for a minute? Then a group of extremists called themselves ISIS and the whole show started the flush into irrelevance. But at the very least we got a few good memes out of it. So in that spirit, we’d like to do a movie in reference to the Kenny Loggins obsession Archer had. To that end we have Danger Zone(1996). Billy Zane and Robert Downey Jr are dudes in Africa. Downey is running “toxic waste” on behalf of an evil corporation because this is the nineties. Bad things happen and Downey disappears and Zane flees Africa. Then he … Continue reading "Popcorn Pulse 256: Tokyo Danger"

Anime Pulse is always a fun listen, I like how they balance reviews with random rants that keep it lively. Manga Pulse feels more casual but still enjoyable. If you enjoy anime and webtoons too, you might also like checking out this site: https://newtoki.com.co/
