Angels & Demons - Part 2

Angels & Demons - Part 2

2024-08-1601:11:35

In this episode, Colton, Ryan, & Ben discuss part 2 of our Angels & Demons series. We talk about demonic possession, oppression, God's sovereignty over Satan, the Nephilim, & more! #angels #demons #christianpodcast
In this podcast, Colton & Ryan respond to a popular social media post that's been going around from Pastor Jacob Whitehead as a response to Christians for the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony. We dissect the post, point out what is admirable, & point out what is not. It's important to remember not only to be loving in our responses, but also to be correct since we not only love others... we also love the truth. Why is this important? It's funny to see people have an opinion on a particular topic that they are so passionate about, & then see them change their minds almost instantly the moment someone else says something different. It's almost as if they are "wavering and carried about with every wind of doctrine" (Ephesians 4:14). While it is important to listen to differing opinions & see a different perspective, it is also good to be able to have an opinion of your own & stand on what the Bible teaches unwaveringly.
In the episode of the LIFTED podcast, Colton & Ryan discuss the 2024 Olympics. We chat about the qualities & characteristics of the athletes that are commendable. We also talk about what is not commendable about the Olympics in the opening ceremony & why is any of this important? We take a deep dive into the history of the Olympics, it's purpose, a brief history on the overwhelming evidence of the validity of Scripture, what we can learn from the Olympics, & why & how its important to shed every weight & run with endurance the race of life set before us.
In Part 1 of this episode, the Lift youth leaders discuss angels & demons throughout the Bible. This episode primarily focuses on angels, the different kinds of angels, how majestic & powerful they are, what is their purpose, & different areas in Scripture that mention about them.
In Part 2 of this controversial, hot topic episode, the Lift youth leaders continue the talk about pride month, the topic of pride itself, the sin of sexual immorality (in all of it's forms) from Old to New Testament, & how it is biblically condemned by our God & Savior, Jesus Christ. *We are aware that this episode may offend people. We stand on the Bible as our source of truth.* Our goal is not hateful, but to spread the love & good news of the Gospel. If you are grieved by this message, we echo the same sentiment as the Apostle Paul when he said, "As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting." (2 Corinthians 7:9) We aim to do what we have always done... to proclaim the excellencies of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9), to call out what the Bible defines as sinful, to call unbelievers to repentance & faith in the one & only Savior, Jesus Christ, & to do so in a spirit of gentleness, respect, love, & truth (1 Peter 3:15; John 4:24, 1 Corinthians 13:6).

In this episode of LIFTED, we discuss the topic of worship & how it is the ultimate priority of our lives. The LIFTED Leaders are joined by special guests, Worship Team Members: Kelsie Sims & Mark Cantrell. Questions asked... What is worship? Why is music used in worship? What is the goal? Does Scripture provide any regulations on worship music or instruments used? Should we stay away from melodies and accompaniments that sound like secular music? Does that cater to a worldly standard? What standard is used to determine our churches worship music? Is it appropriate to use a song written by an artist or church with controversial theology? Or theology our church doesn’t align with? How can we distinguish between issues or morality and personal preference? (I.e the song "Reckless Love" comes upfront to my mind of this. A favorite of many young people) What should we do if we have concerns about the music our church is choosing? Article mentioned in the podcast: https://baptistandreflector.org/should-we-sing-those-songs/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR3cYuKQ_GkGRFV2uZ0JNg35FrQv1GUbXhes5wBC2qEFv_Op-2R0eAzCxY4_aem_AbJG9sBToTPMYLyOJaZI4g2nQh3PlVCLoB4a-TTSaJkVx4Xz5p23xeBXbqNkDCHo4K-WusdOA2KKWPvIeQihbeq5

In this episode: Colton, Ryan, & Paige are back with great insights on being a Christian and choosing content for entertainment or the hobbies we choose to partake in. Our culture is full of things to keep us busy and distracted from God. In this episode we talk about freedom in Christ but also not abusing that freedom as a license to sin. We hope this episode is helpful to you and is a great reminder on how (we) Christians need to be careful about what things we're involved in and what we're allowed to be consumed by.
