Whew, this week is a wild one, listeners. Welcome back to tomfoolery. We welcome Jacob’s character with open arms in this episode. Just as Bella is able to open back up, we are coming back from last week’s low energy! Bella is officially in a full-blown rebound era, as begins to form a close relationship with Jacob. She's discovered that acting out dangerous stunts makes her hallucinate Edward, and she’s doing everything she possibly can to see and hear him again. She gets her hands on some motorcycles, just to hear ghost-Edward scold her, and drags Jacob into all the chaos, all while simultaneously sending him some intensely mixed signals. Also, did we mention that Bella says she wishes he were her brother so she could “stake a claim on him?” Yeah.. stick around till the end for that one. Join us this week as we discuss Bella and the La Push pack! We would love to hear your thoughts!  Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Hey readers. Sorry we missed you last week. Illnesses are a bitch, but we're back, and this one is a doozy! Buckle up for some difficult conversations. Bella’s birthday should have been a nice, quiet evening at home. Instead a next level paper cut sends Jasper into attack mode, Edward into martyrdom, and makes Bella into a ghost. Her newfound reason for living up and leaves - taking all of the evidence with him - and she’s sent into a major spiral. This episode is one of the darker ones, but we hope you’re here to discuss it with us! Let us know your thoughts in the comments. I can’t believe we’re already to the end of Twilight, readers! It’s been a bit of a crazy ride, but we’re just getting started! The lion might have fallen in love with the lamb, but we’re still waiting to meet some of the key players in this story. This episode was a grand time~ Let us know if you have any comments, questions, concerns.. We would love to hear everyone’s theories and feedback. Oh, and we know the anniversary is a few days away. We’re going to have to celebrate with a bit of a party.. But we’ll talk about the party next week. So tune in. Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Hey listeners! We’re back with another episode on Twilight and we’ve finally gotten to one of the most iconic chapters of the book - the meadow scene that started it all where Bella learns that Edward doesn't burst into flame in the sun...he's a human disco ball. We're talking sparkles, forever-boners, unhinged behavior, the way-over-the-top baseball game (because apparently thunder is nature's umpire), and more. This episode is soooo off the rails and honestly… we’re loving every minute of it. Join the discussion! We would love to hear from the listeners on this one, so let us hear your thoughts!  Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Trigger warning! Skip at around 43:25 to 45:44 to avoid sensitive content listed at beginning of episode!  Welcome back readers! We’re here for part 2 of Twilight, and we’re once again discussing some questionable choices on SMeyer’s part. This week we discuss some of the things fans have brought up for years - Edward’s stalking (and absolute obsession), Jacob’s treatment as a character, Bella’s totally unreliable parents, and the infamous Port Angeles scene! Watch out, Edward’s vigilante days are flashing before his eyes. It has already been an insane ride revisiting this story from the text and we hope you’re enjoying it, too. We would love to hear from the listeners on this one, so let us hear your thoughts!  Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Hey, readers. We’re back with a new series to sink our fangs into. Yep - we’re diving into nostalgia. In honor of 20 years with sparkles and teenage angst, we’re revisiting the Twilight series. Join us this week as we discuss some of the unhinged madness that overtakes a vampire who can’t seem to shake his latest craving. I mean Forks is peak chaos — constant rain, green stuff everywhere, and a cute mysterious boy apparently fighting for his life not to puke when Bella walks into biology class. Is it love at first sniff? Or did Bella forget to wear deodorant? We're also talking the infamous van crash, Edward's Olympic-level stink face, and all the red flags Bella chooses to ignore in the name of...love? Join us as we laugh at the absurdity and relive the beginning of one of the most iconic (and questionable) love stories ever written. Some of us are reading Midnight Sun along with it, so be prepared for spoilers and some very...disturbing thought patterns for a turn-of-the-century eternally teenage boy. Welcome to Season 3 of The Midnight Readers Podcast--this time we're heading back to the land of sparkly vampires, confusing love triangles, and eternal high schoolers. Ick. That's right. We're rereading the Twilight saga in honor of the 20th anniversary, and we're doing it with fresh eyes, unfiltered commentary, and a lot of questions. Like...why is everyone okay with a hundred-year-old dating a teen? Why does Bella never eat? What happened to Bella's tear that Edward drank? What is up with their love of baseball? And did anyone actually like being in Forks? In this season, we'll unpack the books that launched a thousand fanfics, dive deep into the lore, dissect the wildest theories, and lovingly roast every questionable moment and decision along the way. Whether you're Team Edward, Team Jacob, or just here for the chaos, you're in the right place. Subscribe now, because things are about to get uncomfortably intense. You won't want to miss a single episode. Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Well, listeners, we are back for the last installment of our coverage of the Empyrean series. We have truly analyzed the heck out of this series and we are coming out of the storm with more questions than ever. Who is Theophanie's boss? Where are the missing riders? Who else is working with the venin? Who is the mysterious brother? Who stole those fucking eggs? What's next for Violet? Is Halden going to do something even more stupid? Well that seems like abso-fucking-lutely yes, but anyway...Violet and Xaden must’ve known that we were finishing up because we could not avoid all the thunder during our recording! Join us this week as we discuss all of the things revealed at the end of Onyx Storm, from first and second signets to potential betrayals...This one’s a doozy. Put on your flight jacket and let’s dive in.
Good evening, readers~ this one is a long one. We had so much to cover! We're talking dragon drama, found family pain, and a twist about Violet's past...and potential future? This section really took a turn far beyond what Christy or Lily could’ve imagined. Of course Brittany already knew but.. Our hearts were not ready! Join us as we talk about one of the most difficult sections of the book, along with Aaric’s questionable signet and Mira’s potential prophecy. Do you guys feel like Mira was in the right? We’d love to hear your thoughts as well. Leave a comment or message us!
Hey, listeners. Hold on to your butts - or your buckets? - because this episode is as wild as the island of Zihnal. Join us as we discuss the Quest Squad’s trip to Zehyllna and the beautiful gifts that are bequeathed upon them. Well, beautiful might not be the right word. Luck would have it, we were given lots of content to discuss with this one. P.S.: the count is back to zero.
Welcome back, readers~ Happy Conscription Day, Candidates! Or are you a cadet, now? This is possibly one of our best episodes! We are fired up about this section. Meeting Xaden’s mom was… quite the ride. In this episode we discuss the arrival at Hedotis and the strange welcome that Quest Squad receives. What can we learn from the isle of wisdom? Seems like... they have a lot more to learn as well. Hedotis, your lack of wisdom is disturbing. Seriously, what kind of island doesn’t have boats? Not an island we want to visit. Join us for this week’s discussion!
Welcome back, readers, and get ready for fight club with the queen of Unnbriel. We couldn’t help but dedicate an episode to the intrigue of the isle of Dunne and all it brings to the story! Tides are changing as siblings are pitting against one another (or are we overthinking things?) and secrets are revealed. Yet, this episode brings more questions than answers, as usual. Trails of what Asher left behind are beginning to surface, including a whole group full of.. Silver-haired priestesses. Could this be the answer to Violet’s silver-tipped hair? Plus, does this jeopardize everything we know about the Sorrengail family? Listen as we react to one of our biggest theories get debunked before our very eyes!
Hey, readers! This week, we’re off on a beautiful island getaway. Unfortunately HALDEN has to come too. Bummer. Join us this week as we discuss the beginning of Quest Squad’s search for the Irids, starting with the isle of Deverelli. They have riches and beaches galore, but lack a certain very important facet - magic! Plus, We meet a pirate(?), bargain for priceless blades, and get into some trouble with some poorly named panthers?? Good thing we have dragons on our side. And this is just the beginning.
Good evening, readers~ We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! This week’s episode rings in more revelations for Quest Squad, as Ridoc has dubbed our beloved protags. Questions are forming about magic sources, particularly for runes. Are they separate from channeling? Plus, Violet’s ex takes center stage as Violet continues to wrestle control for her mission to find the seventh dragon’s den. We find out a little bit more about the royal brothers and discuss the potential for their characters to become allies. How do we feel about Halden and Aaric, and… who was Violet’s other ex? Will her previous relationships come back to haunt her? Let’s discuss!
Hey readers~ This week we finally discuss the first episode of Onyx Storm. The end of Iron Flame feels hopeless, but Violet seems determined to find solutions. This week we discuss the fallout from the last book and the possibilities at hand. Could the scribes have been harboring the enemy the whole time? Is Violet secretly a time-traveler?! And.. is there something special about Ridoc? This book has brought nothing but questions. We’ve got a couple crazy theories spinning around in our heads, so join us this week!
Hey readers! This week’s episode almost had us talking in the same circles as Violet and Xaden. While the couple continues to argue over communication, Violet finally figures out how to power the wardstones and, in doing so, also incites the need for the rebellion to return to Basgiath. Chaos ensues! Dragons die! And some people lose limbs. Sorry, Sawyer. We’d love to hear your thoughts on this week’s episode. Cuddle up with some tea and join us for the final episode of Iron Flame.
Hey, readers~! We hope you’re ready for more dragons and magic because there’s a lot to discuss this week. Not only do we have new characters to discuss - Tic-tac? - but Violet also faces new challenges in the form of wardstones and runes! And possibly… a new rival? Plus, we question what Violet’s true signet is. Surely it isn’t as simple as lightning. We’ve got a lot of theories concerning the gryphons and their flyers so come join the discussion!
Welcome back, readers~ This time around, we get into more of the lore behind Navarre’s magic system and how the dragons power their magic. Where are the hatching grounds? Do different dragon colors have different magic, or different sources for magic? We also discuss the logistics of the scribes and who could secretly be a venin. We’re getting into the nitty gritty of it all! Plus, Violet decides it’s time to delve into the archives to find some real answers… only to spark the beginnings of a revolution. Let’s discuss!
Hey readers! In episode 1 of Iron Flame, we begin to see the consequences of the characters actions. Not only does the truth of the venin hang over the heads of those involved at Resson, but Violet wrestles with keeping the secrets she is now being entrusted with. Or is she? Xaden doesn’t seem too keen on letting her in… Can we blame him? Plus, major players step into the ring in the form of Colonel Aetos and Vice Commandant Varrish. If only Tairn could just eat all of their enemies. Join us for this week’s discussion!
As we get into this week’s episode, we’re starting to notice a theme…Yarros cares a LOT about trust and loyalty. And this one’s a doozy - who can we trust? And what happens when those we love keep things from us or turn against us? Thus begins the ongoing war of secrets in the Empyrean series. This week we discuss signets, hierarchies, and love lost. And yeah, this one still hurts. May his soul be commended to Malek.
