Happy Tuesday, readers! We’re back this week with some very spicy discussions about our favorite werewolf/vampire couple! Things are finally heating up for Lowe and Misery, especially after Ana and Misery get mysteriously sick and Lowe’s protective instincts kick in. There’s no hiding this romance anymore, babes. What will it mean for the forbidden duo when Misery begins to feed from Lowe? Plus, the mystery behind who is seemingly poisoning our girls and breaking into apartments starts to eat at us. Surely it’s not our favorite characters! Oh and stay tuned for a fun discussion while I explain what “knotting” is. Yeah, it's getting freaky (again) on the pod. Let’s discuss! Let us know your thoughts. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Welcome back, readers! This week we’re finally getting to know a little more about Mr. Wolf (Lowe Moreland aka Angsty Wolf Extraordinaire) and all the chips on his shoulder. Misery gets caught snooping around the Moreland home and Lowe slowly starts to fall for her. Things heat up between the two as Lowe struggles to suppress his instincts. Plus, what we originally thought might be a story about loyalty and pack has also begun to morph into a conspiracy. What’s going on with Ana and how is Serena involved? When Lowe joins the search, we discover some new things about Ana and Lowe’s past, further creating more questions for us and complications for Misery. Did we mention peanut butter is involved now? Oh and… some mate discrepancies come up. He was so clear about it, Christy swears. But the question does remain on what it means to have a mate. Can Misery ever truly understand? Let’s discuss! Let us know your thoughts. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Hey readers! We’re back again with some vampire/werewolf romance. This time around we’re taking our first look at the popular paranormal romance Bride by Ali Hazelwood. This one is a little different - we’re used to crazy but not like that. We’ve heard through the grapevine that some fanfiction tropes have finally made it to the mainstream, and honestly, we couldn’t be more thrilled! Join us for this week as we finally meet Misery Lark and her steamy, broody werewolf husband Lowe Moreland. Her story isn’t a simple one… in fact, her best friend Serena is missing. And how will Misery’s first step into Were territory work with their families being fatal enemies? This first section is tense, full of quippy banter, and ripe with potential (and maybe pheremones??). Stick around - this episode starts of soft but before long we’ve descended into madness once again. Hey, you know what they say about things after midnight… Haha. Join in the discussion and let us know your thoughts. Join us as we also discuss our past experiences with paranormal romance and monsters. Let’s just say this season is going to be a lot of new territory, if ya know what I mean. Come for the lore, stay because we're all feral now. Are you excited for this new season? Read along with us and let us know your thoughts. Sorry, everyone again. Mistake in the upload. It's been fixed to the current episode. Welcome back readers! In the Breaking Dawn finale, everyone is bracing for war. The Volturi show up...and after four books of buildup, the series ends with a staring contest and some frustrating blue balls. It's all talk and no bite. From the Volturi's dramatic entrance to the standoff that went absolutely nowhere, we're unpacking the most aggressively anticlimactic battle to ever not happen. It's an oddly wholesome yet extremely boring ending with lots of happily-ever-after vibes but no closure. We dive into what it all means for Bella, Edward, Renesmee, Jacob, and the saga as a whole and share our honest reactions to these final...maybe...moments with these controversial characters. We hope this episode helps you ring in the New Year with a laugh~ We finish the Twilight series with some laughs about the absolute ridiculousness of the last few chapters, from fart cloud sensory gifts to very seriously discussing the mechanics behind vampire tracking. What did you think of that ending? Were you satisfied? Or did you think that the series ended not with a bang but a sadly disrespectful whimper? Join us for the (lack of) the last fight as we say farewell (and somewhat good riddance) to this nostalgic read and let us know your thoughts! Hey readers! This week’s episode is the beginning of the end - after Irina tattles on the Cullens about their sudden acquisition of a vampire child, chaos breaks loose. Alice’s disappearance sends waves through the family and the wolves as the rest of the Cullens start to prepare for the arrival of the Volturi. The only solution? Other vamps ofc! Possibly the best part of Breaking Dawn is getting to meet all the different vamps willing to come to Carlisle’s aid. Plus, Bella gets to play sneaky games on the side as Alice leaves her clues on what to do. Join us this week and let us know your thoughts! You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Hey readers! This week’s episode is all over the place - this section of Breaking Dawn, despite being the fourth book in the series, is not full of much action. However, we do finally get to read about sparkly Bella and her little devil spawn! Welcome to the world, Renesmee Cullen. Everyone is absolutely enthralled with the new baby (one particular wolf in particular!). She’s growing like a weed, too. Also, things are starting to work out between the wolf packs. Any thoughts on Bella as a new mom? We can’t wait to hear your comments! Join the discussion. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Hey readers! Welcome back to our discussion of Breaking Dawn, this week featuring the devil spawn herself - little Renesmee Cullen, born into the world despite all of the obstacles keeping her from doing so, AKA her mother’s humanity, her own father, and an entire wolf pack. Nope, she ripped her way right onto the pages with more horror than we ever could’ve foreseen in this romantic tale. Did we mention it was awful? This entire section is also from the perspective of Jacob Black, beloved and beloathed by fans alike. He’s separated himself from the Uley pack. Will he ever get his.. happy ending? I think we all have different definitions of that.. Join us this week as we discuss! We'd love to hear your thoughts. Hey readers! We’re back this week with the beginning of Breaking Dawn, the last book in the series. We’ve finally reached the beautiful wedding that Edward’s been waiting for - and the honeymoon of Bella’s dreams. Literally, at some points in the book. Despite Jacob’s horror, Bella is eager to finally get Edward in a bedroom alone. Surely, nothing could go wrong, right? This is supposed to be a happy ending! Make sure to stick around for a completely horrifying observation about the honeymoon shenanigans on Esme Island. Let us know your thoughts! This week on the Midnight Reader’s Podcast we discuss the end of the third book of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse. Admittedly, this episode is totally off the walls - we discuss werewolf physics, Jacob’s absolutely insane behavior during the tent scene, and… are we actually liking Edward in this section? Forgive us for the absolute insanity of it all, but maybe he’s okay half the time. Plus, Jacob and Bella share a kiss as the final battle between Edward, Victoria, and Seth comes to an end. Bella, what the hell are you doing, loca? We also get a final ultimatum from the Volturi, setting us up for Bella’s transformation in the coming book. Join us this week and let's discuss the crazy mess that is Twilight. Let us know your thoughts. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. In this week's episode of our Eclipse reread, graduation is finally over, and Alice throws a party that literally no one asked for. Jacob shows up with a borderline manipulative "please pick me" gift, and the baby vampire army decides it's time to make their move against the Cullens.  The wolves and the Cullens team up but decide to leave Bella out of the fight. But that's not going to stop her desperate attempt to get some action of her own. She is down bad and has Edward clutching his pearls and clinging to his eighteenth century morality. It's awkward. It's thirsty, and it's exactly the kind of chaotic scene that breeds some of our most unhinged thoughts. Is there a possible loophole for Bella and Edward? Haha. Maybe. Join us as we break down the cringe, the chemistry, and in hilarious commentary. Let us know your thoughts. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. In this week's Eclipse reread, it's finally graduation, and you only graduate from high school for the first time once! And while that may be true, Bella is literally just trying to survive the world's most exhausting love triangle. I mean it's got more red flags, mixed signals, and emotional damage than a breakup playlist. Edward is flipflopping between controlling and understanding. Jacob's still delusional and pushy, and Bella's not only caught in the middle, she's making it worse with her stupidity. Did she really have to tell Edward her theories at graduation? And Charlie, sigh, we are so disappointed in you. Join us as we unpack possessive boyfriends, bad boundaries, and peak Twilight chaos. We'd love to hear your thoughts, so let us know what you think. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Welcome back to Forks, readers~ This week we discuss Rosalie’s backstory, the flip-flopping red flags between our two main love interests, and our growing discontent with Charlie’s bad behavior (okay, everyone’s bad behavior). No joke. Edward is controlling. Alice is chaotic, and Jacob's a walking emotional landmine. Welcome to Eclipse, where Bella's love life should really come with hazard pay. No seriously, Edward really has lost the plot becoming a prison warden. Alice kidnaps Bella for a non-consensual sleepover, and Jacob decides to make things worse with his brutally honest confessions. And on top of all on top of that, Rosalie shares her emotionally devastating how-I-became-a-vampire story. What are your feelings on Rosalie’s character? And is Charlie becoming stupider as the books continue...or is it just us? Join us this week! We'd love to hear your thoughts, so let us know what you think. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Welcome back, readers! Grab a snack and settle in for a controversial episode…Edward is on the chopping block, and we are living for the drama. Edward whisks Bella away to Jacksonville under false pretenses, and Jacob lets his bitterness about the Cullen's return known. Recently paroled Bella, whose literally just trying to survive all the testosterone-fueled nonsense, goes behind his back and ducks Alice’s visions to visit La Push for a bit of wolf time. How are we feeling?? In this episode, we're unpacking vampire control issues; supernatural gossip, tension, and toxicity; and the most iconic love triangle in YA history. From here it only gets crazier. Join us this week's discussion! We'd love to hear your thoughts, so let us know what you think. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
On this week’s New Moon finale (thank god!), we discuss the consequences of both Bella and Edward’s actions (yikes). We finally meet the dreaded Volturi, Italy's sparkliest cult, in person and unravel their completely ridiculous backstories. HOW OLD IS JANE AGAIN?!?!?! Did I go a little overboard? Maybe a little. From culty cloaks to questionable life choices, we're breaking down the most dramatic "family" of the Twilight universe. Join us for a history lesson and a laugh! We'd love to hear your thoughts, so let us know what you think. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Sorry about the mixup folks. We uploaded the wrong episode. Here's the real one! Hey readers ~ This week’s episode really left a HOLE in our hearts, if y’know what I mean. A terrible, empty hole. Yeah, this week’s a doozy - Bella is in full self-pity mode, and Jacob is quickly thrown to the wayside the minute Alice makes her consequential return. Turns out cliff diving does not look normal from the outside looking in, and Jacob's heart starts breaking in real time, not that Bella cares because Edward is in trouble. And she literally drops everything and jets off to Italy to stop Edward from flashing the Volturi. From shirtless vampire reunions to emotional werewolf whiplash, it's peak Twilight drama, and we are here for it. Join us this week as we discuss the bitter feelings developing between Bella and Jacob as she prepares to save Edward from a very prepared, intentional dramatic end...Ugh, boys are so stupid... We'd love to hear your thoughts, so let us know what you think. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Welcome back, readers! This week’s episode finally discusses the “bear” that’s been causing so much trouble around forks, AKA the wolf pack! Bella's thrill-seeking era is in full swing and with Jacob's absence it turns into full blown desperation. Between hallucinations, heartbreak, and Laurent's return, Bella's proving that rock bottom can, in fact, have a basement. But thankfully Jacob is finally revealed as a wolf shifter, to Bella’s surprise. She has a serious knack for attracting the supernatural. We're discussing the absolutely infuriating dynamic between Bella and Jacob and mourning the loss of more time with the pack because they are fascinating. Join us this week as we unpack the chaos, the cringe, and the emotional damage, and let us know what you think! Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. You can also join our growing community on Patreon for bonus content and more.
Whew, this week is a wild one, listeners. Welcome back to tomfoolery. We welcome Jacob’s character with open arms in this episode. Just as Bella is able to open back up, we are coming back from last week’s low energy! Bella is officially in a full-blown rebound era, as begins to form a close relationship with Jacob. She's discovered that acting out dangerous stunts makes her hallucinate Edward, and she’s doing everything she possibly can to see and hear him again. She gets her hands on some motorcycles, just to hear ghost-Edward scold her, and drags Jacob into all the chaos, all while simultaneously sending him some intensely mixed signals. Also, did we mention that Bella says she wishes he were her brother so she could “stake a claim on him?” Yeah.. stick around till the end for that one. Join us this week as we discuss Bella and the La Push pack! We would love to hear your thoughts!  Find us on Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Youtube @themidnightreaderspodcast. Hey readers. Sorry we missed you last week. Illnesses are a bitch, but we're back, and this one is a doozy! Buckle up for some difficult conversations. Bella’s birthday should have been a nice, quiet evening at home. Instead a next level paper cut sends Jasper into attack mode, Edward into martyrdom, and makes Bella into a ghost. Her newfound reason for living up and leaves - taking all of the evidence with him - and she’s sent into a major spiral. This episode is one of the darker ones, but we hope you’re here to discuss it with us! Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
